A highly qualified person with no farming knowledge learns farming technics from poor farmers who happily teach / share their knowledge freely, after learning the technics he goes to patent some of these..... Only God can save farmers.
True he is stole information from poor farmers, may be selfless person like you can dedicate few years of your life learning what he has learnt and teach farmers for free
Yes sir. I not only train farming for free. I also theach them to build houses using locally available resources. Teach them plumbing, Electrical and Carpentery to name a few.
He said he uses neem oil for saplings., it is possible in closed environment. No farmer raises tree saplings. If you need the technology ask him directly., be honest., Don't do cheap tactics., Fyi I'm a small org farmer from TN., i will try something., hope it will work atleast 50%., thats intuition!
Excellent interview, I have a 40 acre certified organic farm close to Hyderabad and learnt valuable lessons from this conversation with Madhusudhan. I did get some nice ideas from this conversation thanks shameek.
Are you satisfied with the soil being kept open to sun and wind? Watering very close to the tree with drip? This kind of farming which does not stop evaporation and soil buildup could be using plenty of irrigation, even if it is drop by drop.
Very nice learning opportunity, thank you! It is amazing that despite the huge population in India, Back to Basic still needs to focus on export for the business.
Maybe that is because of lack of awareness for healthy food choices amongst the affordable class plus the fact that most of the Middle class may not be able to afford such expensive choices. So maybe a two pronged strategy of creating more awareness amongst the upper middle class plus encouraging farmers to form cooperative and seek professional help on payment basis or profit sharing model by contacting Back to Basics may help bring down prices to affordable levels. There is also a factor of mindsets that needs to be changed. We can see the rich class haggling with a vegetable vendor and going to another who sells cheap but substandard quality, and we regularly see the middle class avoiding good fruits and veggies due to their cost but happily entering McDonald's for a unhealthy but expensive burger or pizza. Plus the fact that swiggy and zomato basically caters to junk food supply, instead we need a 15mins delivery scheduled supply chain for healthy fruits and veggies. The existing ones are not able to supply fresh or good eatable quality produces. We need to use cctv tech where any buyer can log in and view anytime the process 24x7, they may view for max 15 to 20 mins at anytime that they think to order, but that small step will instill trust and help any business grow. Transparency is the key. India is changing and people will pay for good food.
This channel and its exploratory teaching has been a major motivator for me as I invest 50% of my annual income in livestock farming and the farm managed by my son.
Fabulous interview! Thanks for putting this together. Hearing Madhu's no nonsense, rational explanations of his methodologies is so refreshing and extremely educative. Will surely take away a lot of tips and refer to this video again several times
When real estate is very costly, I commend him for saving this big piece of land dedicated towards nature. We need to respect him even though we find fault with his capitalistic approach to things. That said, from a nutrition perspective I believe his crops would be averaging very poorly than better managed ones.. I see his land to be lot more naked.. that is not a good sign for nutritious crops.. he need to change his consultants and rather than landscaping, he needs to put more of his efforts on nutritional crops.. we have all the science needed to manage weeds nutritionally and ideas to improve bio diversity while we grow our crops.. he needs to use that science.. I wish him best to do that..
Only after the nature gives us a kick in the form of a health issue does a human awakens to what is important in life.Healthy food and peaceful life.soul soothing
Been into farming for quite some time. There were some finer elements that caught my attention Mr. Madhu's extensive travel in agri fields to gain knowledge, his sharing of info like growing plants wherein its produce are unique & brings in value the Neem Sauna thing was awesome something that caught attention - an never before heard idea. Even whatever little from this we can adopt in our own fields would surely be beneficial. Thanks to Mr. Madhu & to the whole Farmizen team for bringing this out.
Thank you mr. Shameek, Very inspiring Sir! How to meet Madhusudan ji? He seems an intelligent farmer but more so a goodhearted genuine person! Can mentor some young kids, (15 and above) and youth Madhusudan Sir?
Massive effort... No doubt ! However its actually back to business..... and not back to basics. That too ..only for the rich! If one calculates and ROI per sqft , Madhu would have made more money in 40 by 30 plot than he made in 500 acres. The good thing is , he's employed people, grows food , saves water and makes money.
Madhu and the likes are the people who fuck up the life of poor farmers. Madhu can glut thr market and throw away some produce for free to cut competition
The premise is clear from the start of the conversation, profitable. That is what his talking about. If you want farming knowledge you are at the wrong place.
I do farming too but to be honest to really do well in farming you need lots and lots of money. It looks easier for people who have the money . But in the end farming is something very interesting where you tend to learn everyday .
Could be a new plantation with plenty of irrigation using continuous drip very close to the trees and plants with compost/manure. But the rest of the land is red, desolate with no carbon sequestration. Exposed soil will get overheated and no soil structure can be created with such rampant ploughing. Don't expect the rainfall to percolate and not evaporate. Because of this irrigation pipes exist even for taller/older trees.
Can I make a suggestion, it would be good to get a better idea of his methods of fertilizing his plants. How he prepares the organic fertilizer, how often and how he applies it. What are his composting methods and the cost of those imputs. Does he have animals that provide his manures etc. Another area is how did he survive those early yrs while trying to get his farm productive. Obviously capital is required. Did he have to work outside of his farm? This type of info is important for those who wish to make a transition into organic farming for if not done correctly, failure can easily result. Maybe a second video or do u already have one?
Simple : If all the poor farmers could have the opportunity to go around the world for agriculture knowledge/farming, they would have done much better than this. A real educated person answer questions in a very simple way, not in a sarcastic way.
Just wonder why is he doing all this patenting..he may be more transparent in sharing his best practices as he learned in his initial 2 years before starting his large scale farm. This is more like a typical corporate farming than of any atmalabh! Looks like he is getting fooled by himself. Anyway great farm, lot of best practices. If he is willing to share all these knowledge, it will be great.
Why is it most people in India talk in a long winded way, takes 3 hrs to say something that could have been communicated in 1 hr? So much ego is why everything is expressed in such a dramatic way😅😅😅
At 30.13 he says " if I can do it anyone can do it" NO NOT EVERY ONE HAS THE KIND OF HE WAS TO SUSTAIN LOSSES more over he didn't start the fram for a living to support his family like any ordinary farmer
Plz don't blame Ramesha, reality in the ground is different. Whether you want him to do direct marketing or multilevel farming. First you need to adopt a model farm 4 acre. Prove everyone how to do profitable multilevel farming in that 4 acre land. Always rich people blame poor people. 60 Acre is diff from 4 care. You are financially very strong and do farming in your retirement. Even if farming fails after your life. 60 acre is a good investment in real estate.
I have ordered from ‘Farmizen’ and have got rotten vegetables on multiple occasions. Had to stop after complaining didn’t improve the quality! Hope Mr Madhusudan is aware of what’s really happening with his organisation. There’s a lack of integrity in practice!

This person has bigger ego than the land he owns. So basically he sells organic produce to his rich friends abroad and laughs at other farmers thats actually feeding the world? Tell him to get a life. Not all farmers that dont do organic are poor. Some of them make more than you could even dream.
This guys seems to boast about himself all over the video. He is a businessman & not a farmer & I can't see that from his face also. Not sure if he ever digged a hole in his farm & get his hands dirty. Its easy for non agri background people about farming is not profitable.
