Honestly it was my head cannon that Vexen created the garden of assemblage in kh2 as a way to observe the abilities of the members, designed to consistently update until their death
I always thought it was weird that we didn't get more nerding out between Xemnas, Vexen, and Zexion, because this is the sort of shit Vexen would pitch and Xemnas would absolutely be like "YES INDEED THIS APPEARS POTENTIALLY LUCRATIVE TO OUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS" and back it. Then again, Nomura is just awful about cashing in the really great and obvious plot coupons he makes for himself.
The music very similar to the Mario and Luigi Dream Team music,Dreamy Somnom Labyrinth. When jump into that place,my mind goes to Cavern Of Rememberance.
One of the best things I found about the cavern of rememberance was the ability to practice against harder npcs when newer abilities were unlocked and grind certain npcs for synth materials as I progressed with the story, best part of the kh franchise by far I think
The CoR music is everything that I love about KH. It fills me with this almost indescribable sense of surreal nostalgia like a dream or something. It makes me feel things that nothing else has the power to do.
I love this comment. No other piece of art from my childhood fills me with that intense nostalgic feeling like Kingdom Hearts. I've only just finished KH2FM and the music for CoR fills me with it even though I've only just experienced it.
Absolutely my most favourite area in any KH game. No. In gaming history. Both field, battle music, the platforming that utilizes your forms, harder difficultly enemies, and the cherry on top, Garden of Assemblage with those 13 super bosses. The environments look so pleasing too. Not to mention that up flowing water.
Seriously easily one of the best songs to come out of KH. I've been listening to it as a go to for reading and writing for 10 years now, ever since I got my hands on the KH II Final Mix soundtrack. Despite listing to it for so long, it still hasn't gotten old. That is a testament in of itself. But then there is the Cavern itself. Something that I look forward to at the end of every playthrough of KH II. No matter what I am doing weather it is a Casual Critical Run or something fancy like a no Accessories/items run, it still remains something that I do in every run. Really hoping we get something like this in KHIV.
Something that I love about the Cavern of Remembrance is how the music sounds so calming and mysterious until you run into enemies. They actually called the battle music Deep Anxiety since if you are not prepared for tough enemies and you die you have to redo all the progress you did in that zone. This happened to me in the last nobody section especially the last encounter! They just kept coming with more and more with no end in sight!
On the topic of the ultima weapon it’s worth pointing out that in order to get the Orichalcum+ from the moogle you need to first collect one of every type of material in the game. The remembrance crystal can only be obtained in the final heartless room in CoR. So you technically can’t use Ultima until you’ve already gotten through half of CoR at the earliest.
When you talked about the design of the later half of CoR, It got me thinking, Remember in the trailer of KH2 when Org XIII was originally had their base in Hollow Bastion, maybe just maybe it was a homage to that beta clip
Wait... I always thought the "cavern of remembrance" *was* the "secret research lab underneath Ansem's castle that his apprentices continued the research in secret after they were forbidden from continuing." It was physically underneath Ansem's lab that Xehanort took over alongside his teacher's name; it went all the way to "villain's vale" where we explored Hollow Bastion in KH1; it was connected to the computer pits where the MCU could spawn massive amounts of heartless into the "real world;" it was very related to "memory" research with it's datascapes and proximity to the "chamber of repose" where Aqua's armor slept alongside something of her lingering will; lastly it always kind of felt like it was built into the pipeworks in such a way to seal the research and the "test subjects" within, what with the high level emblem heartless and nobodies.... after all the hordes of Heartless in the thousand heartless battle seemed to come from both under the castle and within the crevices that house the Cavern of Remembrance, almost as though the MCU's emblem heartless broke them out before they flooded Radiant Garden.
Interesting thought. Then, who made the garden of assemblage? Even/Vexen? Maybe Xemnas himself? Obviously, all of this is probably non-canon, except for the fact it was remade in kh3. Still, very good points.
@@Daltonisntabot The Garden of Assemblage is canon though? Or at least it's contents are, as the path to the Garden of Assemblage is mentioned in the KH2 secret reports, as is references to the data-copies therein in the KH3 secret reports. I think Re:Mind was even using a copy of that data Cid pirated from the organization
@@sh4d0wfl4re I always felt that it wasn't canon. I could be wrong. It's been years since I read the reports. However, it would make sense that Xemnas and the others knew about the cavern of remembrance and the other FM areas after thinking about it. Still, which one made the Org area. It could be Ansem, but, could be Vexen/Even as well. He did make the Replicas. It wouldn't be a surprise for him to be tasked with creating Replicas of existing members. Edit: Not to mention Xemnas himself. It wouldn't be unlikely for him to want to keep tabs on everyone's power and make sure he was stronger than them in case one went rogue.
The CoR may have been hard as hell, but getting through it and exploring it was so satisfying. So many enemies and treasures. Had to level up all my Drive Forms to max for that one. My favorite secret dungeon in the Kingdom Hearts series.
I know this comment is 2 years ago but sadly we won’t ever have a Kingdom Hearts game that’s just as good as Kingdom Hearts 2. It’s bring back so many childhood memories, the pictures, the covers, the storyline, just everything about this game makes it so perfect. I thought KH3 would compete if not top it but sadly this wasn’t the case. I hated the game so much. The story and the worlds were so disliked. I know KH4 will be shit too.
I absolutely love Cavern of Rememberance, and it is one of the reasons why I still hold KH2FM in such a high regard (being my favorite of the series, and in my top 40 games of all time). Also, I can't help but feel the theme that plays for the area reminds me of an instrumental song by one of my favorite bands: "Epiphany" by Mushroomhead. It has such a similar vibe that I sometimes forget they're different songs from different artists. Absolutely lovely.
Dunno if it was pointed out but the cavern’s music is also the menu music for Days’ multiplayer mode… hint towards a link with the organization? To data training or simulations or whatnot?
My headcanon is that Radiant Garden began as a mining town that gradually became more grand and wealthy from the riches (crystals) they'd uncovered. The remnants of the mines became the bulk of the Cavern. Once Ansem was banished and the world began its fall to darkness, the Organization, specifically Vexen, would use it as a sort of research station for the replica program's early stages before moving it to Castle Oblivion after Maleficent came in and took the world over for herself.
@@jordandeadley360 I grew up with Kingdom Hearts, I watched Kingdom hearts 2 Final Mix playthroughs on TH-cam, and I played Kingdom Hearts 2.5 in 2014 when it came out.
While the Cavern of Remembrance and its gauntlet are awesome, they aren't post-game, but Final Mix exclusive. You can try traversing whenever you want starting after completing the first visit to Space Paranoids AND you can fully do so after obtaining and working on the Final Form, which is a cinch using the arena and FM exclusive Two Become One keyblade to expedite the process. You CAN save it for postgame, but the only events exclusive to the post game ARE: Lingering Will, the final Mushroom XIII Heartless, AND the Data Xemnas boss fight for the completion of the boss segment of the Garden of Assemblage. THAT'S IT. Also, the music for the area was also used in ONE OTHER KH game, though you'd be forgiven for never hearing it there. Its used for the pre-mission menu of Mission Mode(multiplayer) in 358/2 Days. AKA, character selection/character skill build screen. You COULD do the missions solo, but it would be easier with extra players.
It's no coincidence that the Cavern of Remembrance was found with Yuna, Rikku, & Paine. It feels and looks like a proper Final Fantasy post game dungeon which is why it was executed correctly. Using everything you learned at max levels required to complete along with some puzzles capped off by Superbosses at the end is the FF formula. The soothing music also puts this area over the top and is the best part of any KH game yet! 🔥 🏆
I can agree to that. I just wish someday we had more of these kind of areas, because of the fact that this one, unlike other areas, you can explore this area... frankly whatever you want. Finding a goal, Finding the scaling solution, like it gives you a mindset what to look for. The white balls, the amount cogs, incompletable without thundaga or firaga, the fact nothing does a real dent damage wise until you get decisive pumpkin, not getting much experience until you get the gullwing, these kind of ideas are where I find the cavern to just click for me
I absolutely love the videos where you just nerd out over the iconic segments of this series because I am right there with you lol. The Cavern is definitely my favorite post game content. The music alone does it for me. It's one of my favorite tracks ever. Also, the video you did looking back at the prologue section of KH1 hit me right in the nostalgia/nerd bone. I love that segment so much. Anyways, thanks so much for the great content Cynical!
My theory is that this cavern was created specifically for Sora after the KH1 events, somehow orchestrated by the time travelling Xehanorts. It is meant to represent and recover a vaguely familiar memory; despite never visiting this place in KH1, its layout is reminiscent of it. Both Sora and the player who has played kh1 will remember that this was how they played the first game, platoforming and world interaction. One of the enemies uses the KH1 Aeroga on itself, the Nobody hallways are built in the same rising waterfalls of the original hollow bastion. And the final room? An even more vague reminder that we fought some of those guys in Castle Oblivion. Even the soundtrack reflects that; it has a very calm and nostalgic feeling, despite being in a hostile area filled with aggresive enemies. So what is the cavern story wise? A possible button to trigger Sora's memories of KH1 and COM. From a gameplay standpoint? a compilation of the best and most nostalgic elements of the first two installments, remembered fondly enough that the player won't bother playing it over anytime.
Cavern of Rememberance was a good adition to the game. Idk if the game needed it. Personally I enjoyed original KH2 even without it, but I absolutely appreciate it for what it is. Cant deny it helped the level grind slog... But F*** the Nobody hallway!!! Omg I died so many times! That square section drove me crazy.
@Ewan Callister LMAO! You deleted your comment? What's wrong? Can't handle the fact that you got owned? Or was it the fact that I called you out for having two Twitter accounts? Your main account being Smashassemble while your alternate account is Houseofwyvern.
@@johnpantag472 Bro, you weren't even here. That dude Ewan was spreading false information just like you and deleted his comment when I called his bs out.
In my most recent playthrough, I promised myself I would not finish the game without the ultima key so once I found out I'd have to go there for certain materials, I was so annoyed. But once I got in there, I didn't want to leave. The enemies were satisfyingly difficult and the way I had to think about which abilities to use to pass obstacles just felt so satisfying!
Apparently, to get the combat that good they had to sacrifice the level design. (Focus during development.) I would have love to see Team Tokyo to create the best of both worlds.
The cavern in my head is where Ansem the Wise first discovered the nobodies and the door to darkness. Ansem Seeker of Darkness then built the Garden of Assemblage on top to store back-ups of the Organization when he converted them to nobodies.
Since in KH4 we're gonna be in Quadratum a lot, I hope it will be something like Spider-Man PS4. We can freely explore the city with plenty of post-game content not attached to the main story.
There should be a final fantasy world and a few Disney world's and original kingdom hearts world's there has to be more than what kh3 gave us way more content in every department
I remember when KH2 FM was Japan exclusive and me and my friend had our parents go in on buying the game and the swap magic. I still have them to this day.
I feel like the cavern is first and foremost the guts of the Postern. The core, pistons and other machinery keep the Postern running. Next its crystals are being mined and likely sold to local merchants to create accessories/armor, and maybe even converted into Munny. Once Xemnas took over, an extra wing was added to keep replica data of each member at their strongest for when the real organization came about.
i felt like 0.2 was also pretty damn good as “post game content”, it starts you at higher level, massive content in the realm of darkness, and good ass boss fights, AND good ass puzzles at crit it was real tough.
i was really hoping 3 would combine 2FM and 0.2 in terms of post-game challenges and content. the cosmetic rewards and even no-damage challenge in 0.2 made me think it was gonna be more fleshed out in 3 with even more costumes and challenges while also giving us a CoR style dungeon to explore
Perhaps the Garden of Assemblage was created by Xemnas for the sole purpose of gauging the abilities of the organization members, including himself. It could have been used as something of a training area or sparring pit to allow the members to sharpen their skills and better understand and overcome their weaknesses. Of course, that's assuming Xemnas told them about it, which wouldn't be much of a stretch seeing as they knew about his usual spot in the lab. Realistically speaking though, perhaps Xemnas created the Garden of Assemblage to gauge who was the most worthy of becoming one of the 13 Darknesses. As for the Cavern of Rememberance itself, perhaps it was carved out by Ansem the Wise or his predecessors.
I like the fact that despite being intended for high leveled players, you can still do it at level one. I'm currently trying it for the first time and know it's going to suck when I get to this point.
I have to disagree. It’s great, but I prefer Remind. Not only does it have my favourite boss fight with Xion, but playing as Kairi was also just way to fun.
Not to mention that comparing to the data battles between kh2 and KH3, kh2 has the same bosses with the same moveset just with higher health and an improved AI and they all share the same boss music that does get a little tiring after a while. With KH3, all of the bosses have different moveset that keeps you on your toes, has you learn their movesets, and provide lots of fun. They even have their own variety of boss musics that implants an identity for them.
A secret when I first got to that cavern was that I can grind Master Form from the orbs, died and respawn the area with the orbs intact, as well with the Valor Form but that was risky since I did the grind at lvl 20-25 but its the best place to grind Valor, Wisdom, Master and Limit Form until you grind it at max lvl
My personal favorite is data zexion. It takes a concept with lots of potential aka the book world and gives it a lot more time to shine. Added with a fair spike in difficulty that doesn't feel like it's actively trying to be super unfair but not to easy which makes it feel like an intro to what's to come with the data fights
For me, it has to be Yozora. He's a fun, tough but fair, super boss to fight against. It feels so satisfying to learn and counter his movesets and find his openings.
For me it was Yozora, not just because he was an amazing fight that truly brought out the best in kh3's combat, but it was also the story, the vibe of the fight that makes it my favorite. It felt similar to the lingering will as your foe was mysterious, but this time it felt even more mysterious as the entirety of KH3 was the set up to the fight, unlike kh2 where the portal to LW just kinda appears. Yozora is hinted at since Toy-Box, and if you know anything about FF-Versus13, Beloved Somnus playing in the secret movie as it pans to Yozora is something else. Yozora is like past secret bosses where they hint at the next KH games story and gameplay, but this time it feels like a true revelation, similar to the Xigbar Twist at the end of kh3. Also the dual endings was insane.
Wildcard here, but I'm gonna say anti aqua at the end of the 0.2 boss rush. It's really satisfying to pull off, feels like a dance when you get it right
I know this probably wont happen, but I'd love to be able to have access to more keyblades from other games in kh4. Like the keyblade (forget the name) that riku/ansem used in kh1.
"The same really can be said for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. The only additional combat content there is Julius." I feel the need to remind you since you're talking about lack of things to use the Ultima Weapon on, that in Dream Drop Distance you _get_ the Ultima Weapon for defeating Julius. If you consider Julius to be the only noteworthy post-game content in that game, then the Keyblade you can get and only use against Julius is Unbound, the Keyblade you get for doing that game's equivalent of Data Battles, the Secret Portals.
The Cavern of Remembrance was one of many things that made the Final Mix version of KH2 such a legendary game and undoutably the greatest game in the series
Cavern of rememberence looks like the path to the the Pokémon league in 1st gen is some aspects. You need to use allí the mechanics/habilites you have learned on the entire Game yo go throught the final. (Sorry for my bad english xD, i cant explain It clearly)
I can agree with this KH3 base has no replay ability I wish they did do something similar to cavern of remembrance I thought they where going to do that with frozen world In larxen maze like after an other appears or something but no we just got portals sad even with remind dlc it’s still hard going back to without mods
In final Mix PS2 The Cavern of Remembrance can be Accessed without Defeat Xemnas Final. But yeah if want Unlock all the Data Org you need defeat the Original first
Even the standard KH2 had more extra content than KH3. Makes me wish they had just made the series a trilogy and released KH3 on PS3 instead bombarding us with spin offs and side stories.
@@BalooDumptruck KH3 was already lacking major content when first released. After a patch and DLC, it is just barely scratching the surface when compared alongside other KH post game content, or even pre-game content to be quite frank.
@@xXLunatikxXlul Nah. KH3 had a lot of content compared to base kh2. KH3 has a secret boss, portals to achieve the secret reports, minigames that earns you new bonus abilities and Keyblades, a stat booster, and plenty other of quality of life. Limit Form, Dodge Roll, Lingering Will, Mushroom XIII, Cavern of Rememberance, Data battles, ect, etc. Weren't even included until Final Mix.

KH2 honestly has the best movement, not just in a KH game, but in any game I've ever played. It's snappy, responsive, and you can feel the momentum. CoR letting us put those controls to use was just so much fun.
i prefer kh3's and also since i played really carefully getting all the mickeys and such, I had the ultima weapon for keyblade graveyard so i kinda got my use for it before remind :P I dont think it was a good idea though, I played in proud mode, didnt even die once AND ultima literally one shot some bosses

After experiencing most of KH3 ReMind (still need to finish the Secret Episode at some point), I definitely agree that KH2FM has the best post-game content that was done right!
@@Redxan600 base KH3 is not goated lmao. However after remind & the free update… the combat is better than KH2FM in my opinion. Remind is great, but KH2FM execution is way better
@@Anonymous.Throne It actually is. It's definitely better than base kh2 in both gameplay and story. The execution in content is way better than what base kh2 had.
@@Redxan600 nah, especially the gameplay/combat part. KH3 base game issues is really just with the story, the combat was just FINE & that’s it. You of course have way more options… but the base combos were stale & the game was way too easy. Honestly... I thought the Cavern of Rememberance was the weakest of KH2's post content. I like KH3 more than KH2, but I will agree KH2 had better postgame content than that game, but the Cavern of Rememberance was pretty boring, I found it tedious and... well, lifeless, it was just a big cave with weird obstacles based on the abilities of Sora's Drive Forms (literally the ONLY time throughout my KH2 playthroughs where I actually used Quick Run, and it was just for convenience, you could beat that part with Double Jump if you aimed it properly), the only payoff was the Data Organisation at the end, and getting to it was just irritating. You can't really compare the Cavern of Rememberance to the Data Organisation, the Mushroom 13 minigames, or the Lingering Will because they were all so much more fun than navigating an empty cave with nothing to do.
Thats part of what makes the best for me because it was a very Eery cave that had cool secrets to explore if you leveled up the drive forms. Not to mention the waves of enemies that challenge your abilities especially In the room where the path leads you right to the data fights
I think you just place value on minigames and 1v1's, and none for platforming, exploration and mob fights in general. The cave is a great test of whether or not the player knows how to actually manage mobs of powerful enemies in a tricky or restrictive environment, which is as valid a challenge as any of the boss fights imo, cause ppl still get game overs. When you factor in that the cavern is the most interactive and complexly designed area in the game, it stands out regardless. The only "life" that the cavern lacks that I can see, is NPC's with text bubbles.
@@vindifference "manage mobs of enemies in a tricky or restrictive environment", for starters, an environment being tricky or restrictive doesn't make it fun, but more importantly... how was it tricky or restrictive? Sure the conveyer belt area was a bit tedious but I wouldn't call it tricky or restrictive, I only got game overs in the cave at the very end with the final Nobody battles, and that area is the simplest in the cave. I love platforming and mob fights, but KH2's "platforming" wasn't amazing or anything, and it's not like I had to go to the cave for mob fights, mob fights are present throughout the entire game. It may be interactive and complex, but that doesn't make it good.
It's worse for kh3. Scala has only one boring room with no enemy variations, it's not am expansion to the main game and it doesn't have much going on. Not even platforming except that waterway
I’m actually replaying kh2 final mix on critical mode! Absolutely loving it don’t know why I didn’t do this soon. It’s so handy starting off with 50 AP in the beginning. I feel so overpowered lol
Half true…. the puzzle platforming part of Cave of Remembrance with new enemies is so awesome but… KH III data battles > KH II FM+ data battles and on a narrative level the KH III post game content was way more emotional. Bottom line: KH II FM+ > KH III vanilla KH III with ReMIND DLC > KH II FM+ KH III vanilla > KH II vanilla
The Cavern of Rememberance actually gave me a reason to level up my Growth Abilities in KH2FM. In the vanilla KH2, aside from High Jump, I never bothered with them because, well, I never had a reason too. And it was so fun fighting through all those tough enemies to get to the Data Fights.
COR reminds me of Pokemon HG/SS. Both basically held as the GOATs by their respective communities and set a high standard on older hardware so it was only natural to assume that with superior hardware future titles would have similiar, equal or superior content..........Reality can often be disappointing .unfortunately
With better hardware, you expect better production value but it means way way more work for the same or less amount of time. So, you get a better looking product with less content. Even Nintendo has to cut content out now because HD development just takes that much time.
Funny enough, the Hot Rod heartless in Cavern of Remembrance are LESS aggressive than in Timeless River. In TR they spam their DM constantly, barely giving you room to attack them. In CoR they use it less often so I found them easier to beat.
Heads up, magic still has an effect on them during their DM. Yes it’s still annoying to deal with them, but that’s a good way to get done with them faster
I know I'm a minority here but I vastly perefer the CoR and KH2's Data Fights over 3 because these feel more doable compared to the insanely frenetic and sensory overload-filled data fights in 3.
I really like both version of Goa but KH2FM is just so memorable. I really like the rising waterfall which is a callback to hallow bastion in KH1 rising waterfall. I also loved how the exit of the garden of assemblage has a transparent nobody symbol on it. I always love looking at the entrance to the garden of assemblage just because of the theme of the level you were about to enter was there showing a white castle of oblivion look. I stared at it wondering where did the metal bar that laid up against that wall went. Did it fall down? Did it get moved to the side with the other bars or was it transparent with the wall? But it just disappears & you have that entrance there. Lastly I really like the midi version of Cor just because it had some precautions to it like hearing a small wind charm in the background while having a midi harp playing with a small digital note playing as well. The digital note being cater towards to garden of assemblage computer & the other music note being cater towards the cave area. When I listen to this music I always think of being in a nice cool area where it is not to hot or freezing cold but nice in cool while water drips in the area. Such an amazing level the final mix version of KH2 had to offer.
I honestly don't think we'll get another kh game like kh2, to this date it has the best difficulty balance, the combat paired with the enemies are very diverse and well thought out. Kh1 imo had the better story, it was sweet and simple and kh2 has an in depth combat...and kh3 is kh3. :)
That's the best way to describe KH3. It's so awesome, words cannot be formed to say how awesome it is. It's definitely the best in both worlds in gameplay and story.
I'd have liked if Kh3 had a Cavern like area, but I definitely like remind more. Like the Cavern is cool and all, but I don't truly need it I just want the boss fights. Sure having a journey to it is cool but I don't need it. I don't need every future game to replicate everything anything kh2 did.
I hate even saying it but I have beaten every Kingdom Hearts games multiple times each (except recoded) and I have legit NEVER made the Ultima Weapon. Man I gotta go back and do tit, at least in 1 2 and 3 anyway. It’s always been a pet peeve of mine that I haven’t done it
I wish the series did post game dungeons more often, as it feels like a good way to show your skills and level ups, maybe KH4 will bring this back, KH2 had my favorite post game for having a cool dungeon and cool superboses unlike 1 and 3 (though 3's bosses are excellent just wish we didn't have to slog through mostly reused content to get there)

It was physically underneath Ansem's lab that Xehanort took over alongside his teacher's name; it went all the way to "villain's vale" where we explored Hollow Bastion in KH1; it was connected to the computer pits where the MCU could spawn massive amounts of heartless into the "real world;" it was very related to "memory" research with it's datascapes and proximity to the "chamber of repose" where Aqua's armor slept alongside something of her lingering will; lastly it always kind of felt like it was built into the pipeworks in such a way to seal the research and the "test subjects" within, what with the high level emblem heartless and nobodies.... after all the hordes of Heartless in the thousand heartless battle seemed to come from both under the castle and within the crevices that house the Cavern of Remembrance, almost as though the MCU's emblem heartless broke them out before they flooded Radiant Garden.
The Cavern of Remembrance, Organization XIII Data Battles and Lingering Will are definitely the post-game of all post-games
And the org mushrooms?
The CoR may have been hard as hell, but getting through it and exploring it was so satisfying. So many enemies and treasures. Had to level up all my Drive Forms to max for that one. My favorite secret dungeon in the Kingdom Hearts series.
2FM is KH's best entry
I think the cavern of remembrance was a good addition to Kingdom hearts 2 final mix.
Sadly, I don't think we'll ever get another good replication of the Cavern of Rememberance.
CoR ost: kalm
CoR Bmg: *deep anxiety*
My headcanon is that Radiant Garden began as a mining town that gradually became more grand and wealthy from the riches (crystals) they'd uncovered. The remnants of the mines became the bulk of the Cavern. Once Ansem was banished and the world began its fall to darkness, the Organization, specifically Vexen, would use it as a sort of research station for the replica program's early stages before moving it to Castle Oblivion after Maleficent came in and took the world over for herself.

That shit is ass compared to kh2 fm, I hope u trolling lol
So it's obviously postgame content, gotcha.
All kh2 was missing was platforming and object interactions.

But once I got in there, I didn't want to leave. The enemies were satisfyingly difficult and the way I had to think about which abilities to use to pass obstacles just felt so satisfying!

It's also got one of the best KH OSTracks 🖤
Always loved its concept of using all or your learned abilities to get further through it
i always had this problem with kh2. the combat is better but the level design is so bland compared to the first one.
I think it’s the camera having high fov making the world tiny. Not a lot of interactables but the design is just as detailed as the first one.

Re: mind Data battles are really under rated, So much attention to detail in those fights you can tell alot of care for the series was put into it.
*Me seeing the title: Facts
I'll never forget finally getting to play II Final Mix and seeing this. The music alone was worth a trip in.
II remains my favourite game of all time.
As for the Cavern of Rememberance itself, perhaps it was carved out by Ansem the Wise or his predecessors.
i really like this beacuse it actually required you to level drive forms. for glide etc
I was mind blown when I first entered the cavern and continued to explore
I like the fact that despite being intended for high leveled players, you can still do it at level one. I'm currently trying it for the first time and know it's going to suck when I get to this point.
I remember when I first found it. The music had blown me away.
I have to disagree. It’s great, but I prefer Remind. Not only does it have my favourite boss fight with Xion, but playing as Kairi was also just way to fun.
Also I don’t like the platforming in the cave sections
Not to mention that comparing to the data battles between kh2 and KH3, kh2 has the same bosses with the same moveset just with higher health and an improved AI and they all share the same boss music that does get a little tiring after a while.
With KH3, all of the bosses have different moveset that keeps you on your toes, has you learn their movesets, and provide lots of fun. They even have their own variety of boss musics that implants an identity for them.
I think KH3 is just the better game over all. When it comes to KH games, 3 in number 1 while 2 is number 4.

Kh3 does nothing big. Unless you count keyblade transformations.
Such a great area. Only area I feel that comes to somewhat like this is the dungeon from the frozen world
A secret when I first got to that cavern was that I can grind Master Form from the orbs, died and respawn the area with the orbs intact, as well with the Valor Form but that was risky since I did the grind at lvl 20-25 but its the best place to grind Valor, Wisdom, Master and Limit Form until you grind it at max lvl
Especially for valor because of the high health/defense monsters
the risk was that the low level can one shot you
On the topic of the post game content, what was everyone's favorite post game boss and why?
It's really satisfying to pull off, feels like a dance when you get it right
KH1 Sephiroth
I know this probably wont happen, but I'd love to be able to have access to more keyblades from other games in kh4. Like the keyblade (forget the name) that riku/ansem used in kh1.
The Cavern Of Remembrance is what I call perfect post-game content and how it should be done.
Cor is even a bigger world of its own compared To Halloweentown
"The same really can be said for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. The only additional combat content there is Julius."
I feel the need to remind you since you're talking about lack of things to use the Ultima Weapon on, that in Dream Drop Distance you _get_ the Ultima Weapon for defeating Julius. If you consider Julius to be the only noteworthy post-game content in that game, then the Keyblade you can get and only use against Julius is Unbound, the Keyblade you get for doing that game's equivalent of Data Battles, the Secret Portals.
This was a trip
Cavern of Rememberance definitely was challenging enemies wise.
I feel like the Ultima weapon is most useful as a new game plus item. (I haven't tried pulling it over in anything other than KH3 though)

It may be interactive and complex, but that doesn't make it good.

honestly there should be like a post game content area you can only go to with a secret keyblade
Re:coded is the best post-game in my opinion. Despite its last of plot.
CoR is still amazing
Kh2 FM has so much content its insane.
@@TyTeaStrings I know. Still, the Hot Rod in TR are harder than in CoR.
