Good video and having explored Scotland for years its a place that should be on the motorcycle bucket list. As a 76 year old with biking wife we are still exploring the roads having been up to Norway, Italy and Switzerland in 2023 on our Goldwing and more of Spain and Italy planned for 2024. Unfortunately biking has changed over the 60 years we have been biking with an increasing percentage of people owning bikes who are not bikers in the travelling and riding sense. Turning up to some international gathering or treffen in a camping car with a bike in the enclosed trailer is getting the norm unfortunately. Its impossible to talk to many of these bikers about sweeping through the bends or the sheer joy of riding all by yourself through the Swiss Alps or Scottish Glens as they have no idea what you are talking about. My take is to get on with riding and enjoy what we do and that seems to be your approach also. Good riding in 2024.
Sounds like you have had some incredible experiences on two wheels, I can only hope to achieve the same by the time i get older. You are certainly not wrong. There line between rider and very casual rider is very much blurred these days. Not that I’m judging of course but theres a great deal of pretending going on. Either way, thank you for blessing us with your story and many thanks for watching. I wish you many more happy miles.
Great job as always mate, superb voice over. Glad to see Brucey boy making an appearance, and thanks for the shoutouts, I do miss a good old fish and chips lol. Should be called Thunder and Lightning in the Glen though hey 😂. ✌️🐑
Thanks bud, always appreciate the support from you and happy to give it back. Scottish fish and chips is next level, never had a footlong battered black puddding before! Ha ha it was super wet, good old British summer hey! 🇬🇧🇨🇦🐑
We had fab time first time for us, weather could have been nicer but was lovely Saturday in grantown on spey. Hah, I didn't realise you guys came up from Cardiff, myself my Dad came up from Cross hands from BMCW and my brother from Nuneaton. Travelled up Wednesday evening to Nuneaton then all day Thursday to aviemore got there for around 8.15pm. And I noticed you pitched opposite side to us. Ps saw our bikes in car park behind you to lol, hope to catch up with you guys sometime 👍
Appreciate the comment and support, wow small world, if I’d have realised would have been good to chat. Yeah for sure, hope to catch you on the road one day ☕️👍
So glad I watched this, saved me the trouble of ever going. As a non drinker and my Mrs the same, just doesn't sound like my idea of fun spending 4 days with pissheads.
Nailed it! definitely not worth a visit, there are so many better rallies to visit. Bikefest in Ireland is far better and the roads are heaven to ride.
Not sure how I stumbled upon your channel but I am hooked. First vid and I have subscribed. Great footage and commentary. Very relaxed approach to telling a story. Awesome 👍👍👍
Ah thanks, really appreciate your feedback and support. Thank you for subscribing. This is a first for commentary but I have a few other travel videos, feel free to check them out. Thanks for watching 🙏
Haggis lasagna? 🤤 Also, my best answer for camping neighbours who stay up and rowdy really late is to get up really early and make a massive racket. Perhaps play a bagpipe or rev the bikes really loud just outside their tent 😂
I know right?! But you have to try it if I the area. Unfortunately the bikes were parked away from the camping area but I was sure to make as much noise as possible when leaving in the last morning 😂
We were actually looking to move out there last year but our circumstances changed. Beautiful city, beautiful country. Australia has a special place in my heart!
You take the high road and I'll take the low road and I'll be in Scotland before you.For me and my true love spent many a happy day on the bonny bonny banks of loch lomond.🇬🇧🏴🏴🇬🇧
As a committed 'won't ride in the rain any more' motorcyclist I bought myself a motorcycle trailer. Best thing I ever did, because let's face it, Scotland (like Wales) guarantees one thing if you ride there for a week: RAIN. So I now pick the days I ride. If it's a washout then I have the car, if it's dry I have the bike. Actually I have 2, because I bought a two-bike trailer and take both up there. ZZR1400 & NC750X. Faster straighter roads (A9 to John O'Groats?) I use the ZZR. Nadgery north-west Highlands (Applecross Pass?) I use the NC. The bike trailer has changed my trips out for the better...
Each to their own, I'm not judging and you still ride them. Just seemed that at this particular event, a lot of the bikes were not ridden. I was just highlighting that it's just strange to attend a motorcycle event where motorcycles are not ridden. Your bikes sound well suited to the roads you listed, bet that's a lot of fun. thanks for watching.
I did Scotland and some of the NC 500 last August and, because it ALWAYS rains, went fully kitted up for wet weather, it was absolutely glorious for five days! With the temperature hitting 29c a couple of times😎! I nearly passed out through heat exhaustion 🤣. Bloody typical. As for the knob heads in the next tent, methinks they would have been woken up in the morning by me revving the nuts off my bike right next to their tent😃.
Ha ha that is typical! You never know what weather you’re going to get up there, some places have their own climate. Hey good idea, perhaps I’ll give that a go next time 🏍️💨. Thanks for watching 🙏
I doubt it bud, I’d rather the riding without the rest of it. Always wanted to try it once. If I was to go back it would be for the NC500 instead. Scotland is epic
Prefer not go into too much detail. Let’s just say the rider in front stopped while the other didn’t. Simple lapse in concentration after a lengthy ride. Was very minor luckily or I would have covered in more detail. Thanks for watching.
@@filthyanimalmedia we all need the support man. Lovely to see you’re able to take trips like this with your dad too. Not all of us have them still with us. Keep up the good work mate, missed you for the last 6 months or so… glad to see you’re back
Hi from kent not sure anywhere in uk would make me trailer but each his own. Going back to Scotland this year just love the ride going in late May hopefully miss the crowds great vid thanks ride safe ride free
Enjoying your vid and I am not surprised the number of bikes out weigh the tentage, just like in Germany most are trailered up and then parked for pose value as they do not want their shiny chrome to get dirty, real bikers do as you did and ride to these places with road legal and not just show bikes.
Thank you watching and the support. It did take me by surprise and I do find it weird but you may be right about showing the bikes. Thanks for watching 🙏
Yes it nice but Scotland has also been bad for weather I’d love to ride in the Highlands but the weather is bad has that sting in the air you have to be bloody lucky to ride all that way and then get decent weather. It’s a good dealership I’ve bought a Sportster from there back in the day when they were more in the city centre. Sorry but Glasgow is gloomy and miserable place not for me
It is a lottery with the weather for sure, you do have to be lucky or just go for it. West coast HD was a on awesome dealership. Yep, Glasgow like all cities, including my own can be a bit gloomy but it has its charms. Thanks for watching 🙏
I agree, theres no way to carry all the marquees and stalls etc in on a bike. My comments were that most people seemed to turn up in cars and motor homes, the people who weren’t organising it. HOG or not. Very few people rode there. And when they got on the bikes its was to ride a parade lap. I’m not judging, at least I don’t intend to, I was just surprised by it. Like if you took away the bikes, the rally would be no different. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@filthyanimalmedia I mean the hog members turn up for the rally in the motor homes. Get the bike off the trailer do the ride out. But if they didn't turn up the rallies wouldn't happen shame really but take a look at the age of most of the hog members.

You're driving on the wrong side of the road! It's always wet/raining over their.
It’s ok, the oncoming vehicles drive on the wrong side too so it just kind of works.
