    The Head Judge, Gordon Santee. is the man. he's so energetic and a true class act. Ive had the pleasure of being judged by him. He is a true ambassador for the sport, he travels everywhere and judges in every federation under the sun, i hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.

    Well said, not to mention, even from the front angle, Andy is going noticably deeper than most people this federation do.

    I didn't think Olympic lifters did, but I know for sure that Powerlifters and Strongmen do.
    Plus MMA is a completely, completely different thing.

    @haihatin guys like matt kroc do like Roman chair work and cable ab work, but a lot of core strength comes from just doing heavy squats and dead lifts.

  • @Henzzman
    @Henzzman 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    oh yeah,in ipf,every lift that has been counted a good lift is always done with textbook form also.

    who cares if hes on steroids, been able to a squats of well over 1000lbs is crazy, most powerlifters dont peak until there mid to late 30's like andy is 40 odd now so hes been training hard for well over 20 years.

  • @trancegen
    @trancegen 17 ปีที่แล้ว

    the squats were all no lifts because of depth. Biggest squat still is to be credited to Brent Mikesell (or Paul Anderson).

  • @NeillWylie
    @NeillWylie 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    My training partner was 89kg when he did 305kg x 1 naturally so I don't see why 310 for 2 in the same weight cat is impossible.

  • @MrOnceinside

    nice spot!

  • @trancegen
    @trancegen 17 ปีที่แล้ว

    Parallel? This was way above parallel! Just compare it with Mikesell's record lift (video is available at youtube), or with the IPF-style squats by Shane Hamman (457.5kg)

    the squats arnt perfect, BUT THERE FAR BETTER THAN DONNIE THOMPSONS, I THINK ANDY BOLTON IS DEFINATELY THE STRONGEST POWERLIFTER ON THE PLANET, QUALITY OF HIS LIFTS IN GENERAL IS REALLY GOOD AND STRENGTH IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!

  • @tattoonewfie

  • @imsoKamaji

    I don't think guys at this level all use steroids... powerlifting institutions test for them. Also, compare his look to that of Mariusz Pudzianowski, a strongman who openly admits he uses them in a competition that doesn't care: Mariusz always has the lean bodybuilder steroidhead look.

    @cjr42fiver also if it wasn't for British (and other European) settlers there would be no USA anyway, the fact that this Yank is making out we owe them thanks for intervening in WWII even though they're basically descended from us is rather ironic as well...

  • @bobiana289
    @bobiana289 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Militantcheese hummm.... That must be why I have such a strong core for a fat man. my DL is about 450lbs and squat 425lbs @211lbs body weight 14 yrs.

    @JohnnyKChop 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @desolationofsmaug yes but this is my point. no one is getting on youtube calling you sad cause you like science fiction horror movies so why call this person sad. and as far any "real world practicality" you could say most any activity people enjoy doing doesn't have that. so you can dunk or hit a homerun none of that is needed in the real world but people do it cause thats what they enjoy. so again if thats what they enjoy doing who are you to judge it being sad or not?

  • @brucedickinson12
    @brucedickinson12 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jlallemand If we can't tell the depth from watching this, how can the judge tell when he isn't even watching from side himself?

  • @andyboltonstrength
    @andyboltonstrength 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    not everything is about drugs as you think,some lifters inc me dont like the bullshit in the ipf,the poor crowds no music,i lift for me because i enjoy it,and would never ever want to lift in ipf,have you ever been to a ipf show in uk its dull no crowd no music.just my view

  • @hillsidehibbee
    @hillsidehibbee 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @THEGATHERING20 Hahahaha "If it wasn't for the USA you lot would be speaking German." Written of course in English! It amuses me how yanks often don't realise the irony in their words. :)

  • @esond
    @esond 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    You still need a helluva lot of work to lift that weight even with steroids. It's why there is clean competitions.

  • @davenportbarbell734
    @davenportbarbell734 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why do they let the spotters basically help them lift lol

  • @hillsidehibbee
    @hillsidehibbee 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @cjr42fiver Mate please read the original comment by Kjalli and tell me you dont find that funny. "Dont bite the hand that feeds you" hahaha they think America rules the world! Ironic considering they are economically dependent on us Brits (and China among others for example) you get me?
