  • In this IoT project, I have shown you how to make the Arduino IoT Cloud with Alexa home automation system using NodeMCU ESP8266, and Arduino UNO to control relays with voice commands, IR remote, and manual switches. You also monitor the room temperature and real-time feedback in the Amazon Alexa app. I have used all the FREE tools for this IoT-based smart home system.

    **Important Link:
Sign Up Arduino IoT Cloud: create.arduino.cc/
**Download Code for this Arduino Home Automation project

    Important points:
    1. You can also use Arduino Nano instead of Arduino UNO.
    2. Use the IR receiver with a metal case.
    4. You can use any IR remote, just get the HEX code as shown and update it in the main Arduino sketch.
    5. Install the proper version of the Arduino libraries (as mentioned in the code).
    6. Arduino EEPROM will store the previous states after the power cuts.
    7. Please watch the complete video, otherwise you may face some issues.
    8. You don't need any Alexa devices like Echo Dot. You can just use Alexa App for this IoT project.
**Please take proper safety precautions while working with high voltages.
During the internet of things tutorial video, I explained all the steps to make this Arduino NodeMCU smart home system with Arduino Cloud to control the home appliances with and without internet. If NodeMCU is connected with WiFi then you can control the relays from anywhere in the world with Alexa. And you can also monitor the real-time feedback in the Amazon Alexa IoT applications. So with this smart home project, you can convert any appliance to IoT devices and control them through the internet.
So, now you can just say "Alexa, turn on light". that's it.
