Nobody can hit it nearly as reliably, maybe Yuta now? Nanami was real good at it. If Yuji (someone who is exponentially stronger than any normal sorcerer) is gonna hit you with black flash 1/3 of his hits, it may as well be at will.

When they are standing in the subway after crashing through the second time, right before Mahito creates the train to chase them, it was a carbon copy of the scene from Avengers: Civil War with Iron Man, Captain America, and Bucky in the bunker. I have seen other people say other things throughout the fights and comparing them directly to other anime and pop culture, like Todo's Black Flash being basically One For All Plus Ultra, and this episode with his imagination summoning Taka-chan as a sort of Stand to fight Mahito. This episode the snow scene looked like it was torn straight from Demon Slayer, and while there are plenty of scenes like it, the style was incredibly similar. There was also the summoning of Mahoraga, not part of this fight, but dude looked exactly like Anima from FF10 when you summon it.
It's impressive how Mahito can adapt so fast. Since the moment he was showed, he isn't afraid to learn or use something he has never used before. True essence of human curiosity, ingenuity and talent.

I have to admit reading the manga I hated him, now he grew on me. The anime does a much better job. The fights are so much better in the anime, much clearer and easy to follow what is going on and the voice acting is top notch.

The animators really showed Todo a lot of love this episode, as all of that extra flashy stuff with the idol wasn't in the manga, so they went above and beyond to make Todo's presence in the arc extra special. Because he can’t be a Jujutsu sorcerer anymore. Without his technique or a hand, he can’t fight cursed spirits, and since every moment beyond this arc is just even more dangerous than the last, he can’t be there. It’s so sad. He’ll never get that rematch he wanted with Yuta.

He saved his brother and allowed him to enact revenge and maybe to him his purpose is complete. Just like he said; so long as Yuji lives, Todo has never been defeated. Man, I kind of feel for people that didn't immediately get what happened to Itadori's leg. If you push yourself hard enough physically, the first thing to give out is your legs. Don't ask me why, but it's like they shut down and buckle uncontrollably. Hitting your leg can help get more blood into them which might help them regain function, but you're on thin ice the entire time. It's happened to me while running long distance, and during sparring when I hadn't taken a week off to recover in like 5 months, going as hard as I could basically the entire time. It made me so happy to see that in an anime because it made it so much more real for me 😅
Mahito's form in this episode was gained through an immense understanding of his own soul. In exchange for not being able to use Idle Transfiguration on most of his body(except his hands), he gained a massive boost in his physical and defensive abilities thanks to a binding vow. It's stated that this form is about 200 times tougher than his normal state. Yuji's hits that did so much damage before were suddenly having no impact on Mahito. It's stated in a little volume extra that if Yuji hadn't nailed Mahito with that last Black Flash, he would've been instantly torn to shreds. To me, one of the most interesting things about Mahito is how fast he grows. His potential. He's still essentially a child due to how young he is. Yet he managed to master Domain Expansion(something many sorcerers can never do), learned to transfigure himself more, found a counter to Simple Domain, used Black Flash, copied a very specific technique that GOJO of all people used on instinct by releasing his Domain for 0.2 seconds in order to counter Sukuna inside Yuji, told the King Of Curses to move aside, and discovered his true form thanks to realizing who he is. If he didn't have damage already accumulated in his soul or didn't have to worry about Sukuna being inside of Yuji, this wouldn't have even been a fight. Because he would've just used his more powerful soul techniques and just transfigured Yuji and then Todo. Mahito was the exact Curse that Sukuna said Jogo should've been. Someone who destroyed everything around him and lived only for himself and the torment of others. But in the end, Mahito's steps towards greatness were halted by a max power Black Flash straight to the soul. Centered on an unprotected part of his body. He managed to permanently cripple Todo and prevent him from using his technique ever again due to damaging his soul. And now, "Geto" has appeared before Mahito. Questioning if he will save him.

I've seen many people struggle to grasp what happened in the last part of the fight for some reason. Mahito made that specific part of his body vulnerable to bait Itadori into hitting it so he could counter with a final blow, what Mahito wasn't expecting was Itadori using Divergent Fist (that's what he means by a time lag) to throw his rhythm off

Remember one thing from this fight. Yuji said he needed to land a black flash with his maximum cursed energy. So that final black flash was empowered with 100% of his cursed energy.
If Yuji's leg was shaking from nerves, he wouldn't have been so 'in the zone' that he could hit black flash often enough to make Mahito question whether he was doing it at will. The scene didn't even show Yuji's leg shaking. It showed his leg buckle slightly, which is what happens when you push your body passed its physical limits.

No, it wasn't nerves. That wouldn't fit with what we've seen from Yuji or what was happening in the fight - Yuji was so 'in the zone' that he was repeatedly hitting black flash to the point of making Mahito question whether he could do it at will (which is impossible). Yuji's leg was buckling under him because his body was so badly beat up by that that point. If you ever push your body well beyond its physical limits, you may end up experiencing this yourself (although hopefully not in a fight to the death/exorcism like Yuji).

Straight up crazy action this entire episode, just the way I like it. Itadori is gonna have some gnarly scars and be exhausted after this. I also wonder what Sukuna thinks about all this? 🤔 It was cool to see how the curses and sorcerers are learning about themselves and their abilities from each other. Mahito really made some Nomus and ended up Digivolving into one as well. But my man Todo is too much of a beast. Him clapping Mahito’s hand and clapping his own stump was CRAZY. That bastard really messed him up though and on top of that he said his “Boogie Woogie” is dead which sucks 😔 He needs some medical attention and reverse curse abilities on him ASAP! Manga reader here, it's been stated and we've seen times where hands actually play a huge role, todo obviously needs it to clap, but a domain expansion can't be employed if you do the hand seals. Sukuna having 4 arms and 2 mouths for extra technique chanting is considered the ultimate advantage for a sorcerer.
Mahito got an immense power up as he finally uncovered the true shape of his soul. Allowing him to create binding Vows on his body to give himself boosted physical strength to beat Yuji, In exchange of not being allowed to use his Curse Technique
Mahito is a new born curse so theres so much room for him to grow or improve thats why it was so late that he get to know his techniques same as yuji as a sorcerer
Especially as the transformation is ALOT different to those. He literally performed a binding vow on his body to allow for immense physical strength in exchange for his technique
I believe there was a delay in his technique dying, which is why he was able to clap Mahito one last time. So long Boogie Woogie, and with that, Todo is out of the game. Without his technique he's kind of useless in terms of strength now. He gave up everything for his brother Yuji, much respect to magical girl Todo!
I wouldn't say he is useless. In season 1 they say Todo doesn't even fight using his technique. He says he only ever even does Boogie Woogie when he goes against special grades. Every other curse he just throws hands and bodies them. The entire story after Shibuya is less than 2 months. Todo is also one of the smartest characters in the show. I think with time to recover and a prosthetic hand/cursed tool Todo would still be an amazing teacher for other sorcerers, a good strategist, and could probably still handle any curse not a special grade easily. With time to develop a new fighting style he could probably even get back to the level we see him at here.
But even at the level he is here, he would die in the Culling Games. The other sorcerers are far stronger than him. Not to mention Sakuna would cut him faster than he could switch. I think his mind is useful, but I think the reason he just peaced out was because he knew he could no longer fight and be useful in this war.@@christianmccollum5157

Also in order to use black flash you need to be in the zone and any distractions would prevent that so him shaking was also a distraction as well

The animators really showed Todo a lot of love this episode, as all of that extra flashy stuff with the idol wasn't in the manga, so they went above and beyond to make Todo's presence in the arc extra special.

What's weird to me is how he literally hasn't shown up AT ALL though. Like, Miwa is still around, how come Todo can't also be in those planning scenes in Shinjuku? He has a great tactical mind, arguably the best of the Jujutsu sorcerers, you'd think he might have an observation or two to make.
@@huntersnider9621 well because Miwa still has her technique and is still a sorcerer; my guess is after Todo lost his hand, he retired from it altogether leaving himself out of Jujutsu affairs. His mind set aside he’s of no use to them anymore and he likely understands this and doesn’t hold any qualms about it, he went out the way he probably would’ve always wanted to go out. He saved his brother and allowed him to enact revenge and maybe to him his purpose is complete.
Just like he said; so long as Yuji lives, Todo has never been defeated. He entrusted his goals and ambitions to Yuji.

Man, I kind of feel for people that didn't immediately get what happened to Itadori's leg. If you push yourself hard enough physically, the first thing to give out is your legs. Don't ask me why, but it's like they shut down and buckle uncontrollably. Hitting your leg can help get more blood into them which might help them regain function, but you're on thin ice the entire time.
It's happened to me while running long distance, and during sparring when I hadn't taken a week off to recover in like 5 months, going as hard as I could basically the entire time. It made me so happy to see that in an anime because it made it so much more real for me 😅
Mahito's form in this episode was gained through an immense understanding of his own soul. In exchange for not being able to use Idle Transfiguration on most of his body(except his hands), he gained a massive boost in his physical and defensive abilities thanks to a binding vow. It's stated that this form is about 200 times tougher than his normal state. Yuji's hits that did so much damage before were suddenly having no impact on Mahito. It's stated in a little volume extra that if Yuji hadn't nailed Mahito with that last Black Flash, he would've been instantly torn to shreds.
To me, one of the most interesting things about Mahito is how fast he grows. His potential. He's still essentially a child due to how young he is. Yet he managed to master Domain Expansion(something many sorcerers can never do), learned to transfigure himself more, found a counter to Simple Domain, used Black Flash, copied a very specific technique that GOJO of all people used on instinct by releasing his Domain for 0.2 seconds in order to counter Sukuna inside Yuji, told the King Of Curses to move aside, and discovered his true form thanks to realizing who he is. If he didn't have damage already accumulated in his soul or didn't have to worry about Sukuna being inside of Yuji, this wouldn't have even been a fight. Because he would've just used his more powerful soul techniques and just transfigured Yuji and then Todo. Mahito was the exact Curse that Sukuna said Jogo should've been. Someone who destroyed everything around him and lived only for himself and the torment of others. But in the end, Mahito's steps towards greatness were halted by a max power Black Flash straight to the soul. Centered on an unprotected part of his body. He managed to permanently cripple Todo and prevent him from using his technique ever again due to damaging his soul. And now, "Geto" has appeared before Mahito. Questioning if he will save him.

I've seen many people struggle to grasp what happened in the last part of the fight for some reason. Mahito made that specific part of his body vulnerable to bait Itadori into hitting it so he could counter with a final blow, what Mahito wasn't expecting was Itadori using Divergent Fist (that's what he means by a time lag) to throw his rhythm off
The show is in on the jokes now. 😂 Takada's song is titled "jumping". Even she knows this is jump jutsu kaisen..as she and Todo jumped mahito together.

Yuji hit his leg bc it was already on his limit probably. His body just wanted to stop and rest at that point so he was stimulating it to force it to keep fighting
Remember one thing from this fight. Yuji said he needed to land a black flash with his maximum cursed energy. So that final black flash was empowered with 100% of his cursed energy.

No, it wasn't nerves. That wouldn't fit with what we've seen from Yuji or what was happening in the fight - Yuji was so 'in the zone' that he was repeatedly hitting black flash to the point of making Mahito question whether he could do it at will (which is impossible).
Yuji's leg was buckling under him because his body was so badly beat up by that that point. If you ever push your body well beyond its physical limits, you may end up experiencing this yourself (although hopefully not in a fight to the death/exorcism like Yuji).

Straight up crazy action this entire episode, just the way I like it. Itadori is gonna have some gnarly scars and be exhausted after this. I also wonder what Sukuna thinks about all this? 🤔 It was cool to see how the curses and sorcerers are learning about themselves and their abilities from each other. Mahito really made some Nomus and ended up Digivolving into one as well. But my man Todo is too much of a beast. Him clapping Mahito’s hand and clapping his own stump was CRAZY. That bastard really messed him up though and on top of that he said his “Boogie Woogie” is dead which sucks 😔 He needs some medical attention and reverse curse abilities on him ASAP! Manga reader here, it's been stated and we've seen times where hands actually play a huge role, todo obviously needs it to clap, but a domain expansion can't be employed if you do the hand seals. Sukuna having 4 arms and 2 mouths for extra technique chanting is considered the ultimate advantage for a sorcerer.

I believe there was a delay in his technique dying, which is why he was able to clap Mahito one last time. So long Boogie Woogie, and with that, Todo is out of the game. Without his technique he's kind of useless in terms of strength now. He gave up everything for his brother Yuji, much respect to magical girl Todo!
I wouldn't say he is useless. In season 1 they say Todo doesn't even fight using his technique. He says he only ever even does Boogie Woogie when he goes against special grades. Every other curse he just throws hands and bodies them. The entire story after Shibuya is less than 2 months. Todo is also one of the smartest characters in the show. I think with time to recover and a prosthetic hand/cursed tool Todo would still be an amazing teacher for other sorcerers, a good strategist, and could probably still handle any curse not a special grade easily.
With time to develop a new fighting style he could probably even get back to the level we see him at here.
But even at the level he is here, he would die in the Culling Games. The other sorcerers are far stronger than him. Not to mention Sakuna would cut him faster than he could switch. I think his mind is useful, but I think the reason he just peaced out was because he knew he could no longer fight and be useful in this war.@@christianmccollum5157
