God, I'm sorry man, when I first joined I had a much better experience, with most people I ran into helping me out with the game. I ended up getting my friends in, but one left because of shit like this. Nice bunker BTW
My first time was terrible I was kidnapped by roving logis and dragged back to blemish they had me scraping for hours. Nah they were fairly nice told me how to do logi even if it was by force
Ive had the good and the bad. Although they were justifiably bad to me. I was doing logi in the heartlands when a single partisan guy showed up in one of our stolen tanks, but we only had pistols and he was just sitting with us. There were like 5 of us scrapping and some of us called out about this guy in chat but no one came to help. So we just left him alone. I managed to convince him to let me in the tank, so we started strolling around town. I did mention how it was pretty odd no one was coming after him, as we parked up in the centre of the logi hub - we were chatting in local so it was blatant that he was an enemy. When some clan guys caught on they blew the hell out of the tank and blamed me for aiding the enemy. As I said justifiable. The same guy came back a stole another tank the next day, and sat with us at the scrap yards again, despite the new defences...

We wanted to setup a coastal BB near the Baths D day style Bc we thought it would look cool and he ran me over in a jeep. I’ve been playing for a week now and I’m absolutely loving it. Colonials are dicks when the game goes on sale cause the alt account issue but once you ask like. How to do shit and genuinely try and help they're fine. I took over an abandoned, decayed, public petrol refinery and built it back up and have added to it to make a huge public fuel and upgrade facility
I am sorry you had to encounter Larry. He and the rest of the so called "High Command" are why I switched sides to the Wardens. Last straw was getting banned for a week when I blew up a harvester for running over our own soldiers because they were "not fast enough moving up to the front". They just spawned, dood chill. The front wasn't going anywhere it was a bridge that nether side was able to take the whole war.
@@HippoBean i think he was all up for being warden, but since 1 of the wars, he got into conflict with most clan heads over something stupid... he might have been right on few points but mostly to toxic for the big clans, and they basicl ousted him. I think it was when he was trying to take command of something, and kept laughing how royaly the commanders at that point fucked up. i dont know much about streamers, but some of them are nice, some of them are not. I did like he's beard though, probobly the only thing about him that i admire :D

@@HippoBean I have to inform you, badmanlarry was basicly pissed for the info i provided above, at like, war 75 i think, and since then he was "kicked" from 'warden unity hub' (basicly all clan heads meet there to disscus how the war is going to be played how many clans active and t.t.) also, most streamers, always play both sides(to switch things up from time to time) now he just plays the game, hated probobly by 70% of he comunity. One of my first few interactions with players was when we were defending a bridge (as you do) and one of the guys talking about what to do asked if I wanted to head to the other side with them as I wouldn't be able to hold the other side. In another, a guy without asking showed me the ropes on building defensive fortifications. And I was called a Chad for dismantling some mines under fire. Larry really is a tool, and doesn't paint the best picture of the community
Yea there are mostly good people in the game if someone is building somthing wrong you give them tips or if your role playing summery execution then show them
Just spend an hour or two hauling barbedwire and Setting up sandbags (painful to get when not a Clan member) and people will praise you. Because barely anyone else sets up Barbedwire and Sandbags. Why? Because some upity clan member gets bitchy when your setting up fortifications that are not BBs. When you know... Sandbags make it harder for Artilary and Morters to affect infantry while Barbedwire inhibits the movement of Hostiles. Oh and there is the classic setting up a sandbag wall behind a barbed Trench with machineguns/AT-Guns ontop of the sandbag wall. Weak only to a sustained assault

If it was all the solo players would be banned because solo play is less effective than organized clans. Trenchs could be used well and I built and held lines for days in war 79, and as long as he wasnt just screwing with someones BB he can dig till his hearts content. Man went to the middle of no where to build a fort. There was no reason to spaz except the guy is a no life streamer who thinks hes some kind of authority figure.
Its true, there was a PSA in chat about going to the home island and helping new players learn the game, i almost joined in but im only an OCdt so i felt i wasnt experienced enough yet

This is actually hilarious that you met SadManLarry on your first experience with the game. Sorry you had to deal with this but he’s one of the main streamers in the game and is also hilariously toxic. He just got banned recently for mass reporting one of his own teammates because they derailed his carefully planned attack.
I had the exact opposite encounter when I first played foxhole, a guy saw me running on the side of the road and asked if I needed a ride. When I told him I just bought the game he brought me to scrap with him and basically hung out for a while.
Unfortunately there is a small but really vocal minority of people like this in this game and they suck all of the fun out of it for everyone. They seem to forget really easily that they were new at one point and didn't know how to play either. Their egos are really big for people who seem to spend most of their free time playing a somewhat obscure MMO which is pretty sad. Luckily if you have enough people around and these tards are around you, and you fire back and make fun of them they typically stop and or leave the game because no one wants them around
Theres assholes in every community but yeah some dudes really dont have anything better to do other than just bully no ranks all day, that being said i also think no ranks should ask questions first before trying to do anything since foxhole takes a bit of time to get familar with the basics.

one of the new guys in my regiment ran into Larry on his first day of the game. Larry accused him of being an alt and got his own regiment to mass report him & he got banned for it I'm just glad he got back into Foxhole after his ban and joined us because Larry nearly cost me a great recruit
Yeah bro come to us Wardens. I literally spawned in and there was this senior player taking a group of newbies through the tutorial and teaching everyone how to do things.
This happened to me last night - not even an hour into the game… Found an unlocked tank, the sign nearby said anyone could use them, so I hopped in and decided to see if I could help the nearby team flank the enemy. Next thing you know, I’m accused of being an ALT, having stolen a tank, “taking it solo to the collie base” (the guy in the turret hopped out and committed suicide), killing teammates who ran in front of my tank and then everyone in chat is told to BAN me for no reason. After arguing for about 10mins In game through chat - cause I also had no idea about audio set up and comms - the dude suddenly apologises to me and starts ranting about how people are using ALT accounts to steal vehicles and shit… Ummm, my account is about 5 years old, and I have less than an hour in the game in total, I have no infractions/bad reports or anything on steam or this game, so why would I need an ALT?
I always try to leave as many players with a positive interaction. There are some mean people, both in voip and world chat. I just mute them. They can’t be toxic if they don’t exist for your purposes haha.
I didn’t know larry that well but thank god he left wardens I get suspicious of low ranks but with all the new players it really doesn’t matter if someone does something suspicious
Yeah I'm new too. So I spent some time talking to some more experienced dudes in a defense. And the picture they painted is quite grim with alt accounts. I didn't think it was as bad as they described until a friendly ran up with a looted gas Grenade and gassed friendly tanks :/ Luckily most of the Collies I met so far have been super helpful after talking with them for a bit.
Yeah there has been a LONG LONG history of shady team alts ruining entire fronts etc, so like I 100% get why he was concerned and why anyone gets livid when they think they found an alt... but this is just NOT the way to handle the problem even IF this guy was an alt. LOL.

I was doing frontline medical work with constant artillery fire so I dug some foxholes to duck into with downed allies & he threatened to report me for disruptive structure placement. I was hoping I wouldn't encounter him again.
@@phaztom313 Yeah, badmanlarry isnt a great person. He also switches teams every few wars, so hes a plague to everyone. My first day I found a clan called RED. Nicest people Ive met gaming. Both sides have their bad people, you really just hit unlucky with him.
Any new player out there don’t get discouraged from the assholes there are plenty of people willing to help it’s not an easy game to get into right away but once you do it’s really fun
im actually surprised you ran into someone like that, ive only experienced 2 toxic players in my 250 hours of playing. The community is usually way more chill than this. That being said... Wardens for life! Shout out to the boys in WDF for helping you out.
Haven't a clue what he's on about 'new players don't have shovels'. Most players have to become at least SGT before they stop picking up shovels, myself included. Cool base btw, looks like it could actually be useful in a one-way frontline fight. Side bunkers with open vision make it a bit harder to flank, forward base can be easily garrisoned to protect from direct approach (upgrade to Rifle Garrison will do this even better), if you could get yourself some AT emplacements ('EAT' for short) the base has potential so long as there's players to man it. It'd do well with some strategically placed wire across the front approach, make grenade yeeters cry a little harder. I mean, it'll get PvE'd by an organised group almost immediately, but the anti-partisan meta is difficult even for experienced builders to wrap their heads around.
Hey look, it's a fresh player with more of a sense of map security than most of our streaming community. Would you look at that! Even as a Warden, i feel i have to apologise for the fact that you had to run into the larry inquisition, so early in your play experience no less. This kind of behaviour from him, at least to me personally, takes on a whole new visual when we factor in that he's admitted ON STREAM in the time since this video that has at least one alt in the Wardens passing info to him. I got the game two weeks ago, I was making a ton of scrap into fuel yesterday when I got in from work, I filled up a fuel truck to put at seaport since there was only one there, I fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the sea with a fuel truck full, immediately got accused of being an alt. I went offline because I wasn't going to convince the guy but I'm kind of worried about going on tomorrow once I finish work because he was in a clan and will probably have people he tells these things too. I'm a solo logi and I reckon I'm probably gonna have trouble
Truth be told, people will always find reasons to bully other people. Avoidance is a good tactic. Getting into a squad with other people, even if you aren't working directly with them, is another good tactic. You don't want to be alone and isolated, so that you have a good alibi. Don't feel bad, even experienced players screw up and can accidentally drive into the river.
I started playing this with the wardens, i ended up with motly crew from different countries who managed to find the time to play together 8+ 12+ time diff. We did material gathering first then logi, then tank squad, found out where shit at it then we tried arti/mortar squad found out we're somewhat decent at it. We have not played together for about a year now as most of us have children now but damn its a good memory.
This is legit Foxhole lore now lmao. I always play warden, probably stared playing around this time too. Well, a year ago or so I was playing Collie and the base was being hit by artillery so I begin to repair. After a few minutes, it’s only me and this one other guy repairing, with people constantly respawning and running away. He starts complaining about how he is the only guy to ever repair anything and so on. I’m just sitting there in silence thinking “Dude, I’m literally next to you, you’re not the only one repairing” then I remember I only play Warden and was only Colonial because my brother wanted to play that faction. So, he actually was the only “Colonial” repairing, lol. That was Badmanlarry, the myth himself, I almost couldn’t believe it. “GET SHREDDED!!” Lmao, great meme

frontline trench warfare is strength in number so recruits are always welcomed. chill infantry mute the sweats who berate us from a tank, or a guy stops by our trench to larp as an angry pompous officer who gained his high rank by driving a truck all night, but toxic players seem to avoid frontline as soon as their light tank gets destroyed. they usually rage quit after 15 minutes of unheard shouting because everyone muted them.
I bought the game like 1 week ago and my first touch from the game was amazing, i started as collies because i saw a "warning queues" on warden team on Charlie server. I started on "the moors" when collies didn't take the most part of the region. Just when i get out of the base i spawned, two guys on a jeep told me to get in the vehicle to do partisans, i had micro but i didn't even know how to use it or been able to write, not to talk that i thought i must press "E" to get in the jeep, when they teach me how to do that we go with a third guy in a truck waiting us on the enemy territory, i was scared as hell but fortunately no one saw us. We then reach to a mountain and some grasp where we hide our vehicle out of the road and ourselves waiting for some enemy logi, basically partisan. We took like 1 truck and then leaves and the leader even worry about me for waiting like 3 minutes till something happen as my first game experience. I had a lot of fun and now i learn how to do all sorts of things, in one week i even learn how to lead a couple of tanks on the frontlines(3 in total) and my favourite work as collie is heal and revive other teammates with my badass suit while turning on "how to save a life" riding a bike 😎. I m "Invictus" in case u see me 🗿.
As a long time vet and knowing where the video was going, I could not stop laughing when I saw Larry drive up. I went uh.... oh.. haha. I hope you kept playing, its not for everyone.
I had a very similar experience my very first time in foxhole as well. When I first spawned in I had no idea what I was doing so I started walking around some area far out in some warden backing. I find a conveniently placed MG half track with a sign that says " this is molly she killed goblins". I take and drive around and I notice I'm being followed by guys in another half-truths. Stupidly I try to out pace them. They some how end up in front me with there machine gun facing in front of me. They start interrogating me and order me to leave the truck to prove I'm not an alt. (I had no idea what an alternative was and I couldn't even use local chat) so I sit there until one of them tells me the push to talk key after that I talk them down and they believe I'm new. They take me and the half track go and deal with some partisans down the road where I get blown up after taking about 3 or 4 sticks. I get invited to the reg and a year late I'm an officer and still friends without two guys I met. 10/10 experience

I'm sorry this happened to you. I got the game the other day and tried jumping into the front. I'm not used to the top down style and was having trouble staying alive. I logged on the next morning with my coffee and figured I'd try out logistics and ran into a few guys that gave me tips on what to do and how to be safe. Later on that day I was running back to get more supplies to take to the front and ran across a player being attacked by a partisan, I ran the partisan over and we transferred his cargo to my truck delivered it and then went back with friendly armor to clean up the rest of the partisans. It was exciting and lots of fun, after we were done they asked me if I was new and how I was liking the game, gave a few tips on combat and recommended some communities to join to learn more with people instead of solo. The only people I've run into that were kind of "meh" were people that were blasting music through a megaphone into their mic (sounded that way anyway) and a few people that seemed in a rush to do something and I was in the way.
Yup exactly what is wrong with the player base in this game. There is a dude on the official discord that constantly says he has to shout at new players to get them to do stuff and also says new players dont stay more than 20 hours so why teach them? Some how doesnt think these 2 things could be connected 😂
Well that's a different issue. Thinking you can order people around is troublesome. Persuade people to follow in order to achieve the common goal is the way. Don't act like you can herd cats, or that you're entitled to other people doing what you say. All games with social interactions like this have their bad moments, but the good outweighs the bad.
First time i played the game and was wandering around aimlessly people asked me if i needed help. I didn't realize that they instantly saw me as a rankless noob back then. Nowdays i help other rankless people when ever i get the chance
Thank god I started today and everyone was just mute people, a few talked but they were part of a team and (thankfully) just let me do my thing, tho some communication would have been appreciated lmao, had no idea what to do and where to do it
Yeah I had the exact opposite experience. We were new and had just scrooped what was (for us) a buttload of RMats. One of the dudes from a larger regiment just came along and took everything we had as we didn't know about private stockpiles. Afterwards we confronted him and the dude was like not understanding at all and basically victim-blaming. Eventually his compatriots covered for him and paid us back, but since it took so long to be repaid and my group has had a "hit back" policy for the decade or so we've been around in other games, we ended up finding where they were based out of, joyriding in their train, dumping the coal, and disconnecting a bunch of their facilities. We decided to play collies next war, and found a bunch more friendly folks around, and were willing to help out more as a result. It might have been petty, but people shouldn't fuck with others who may have a lot of patience and vast reserves of spite just because they think they're untouchable by being in a big regi.

little bit of paranoia here. i've been playing this game for 3 days now, and all players i've encountered so far were fine, nothing like here. but i can understand his point of view. it takes a lot of work to setup defense line and team work is the key to do so. so seeing some random person running around with no purpose could set off alarm bells... as in, hes a spy checking out our defences ect.
i need to take that time and learn how to plan trenches, but i havnt yet. i just dig out the plans and use my hammer on stuff that blue or needs repair

IMO Warden 100x more toxic than colonial, I capture and larp with Colonial all time when I was Warden. But my teammates I was team killed, screamed at, and harassed by toxic shit heads ever time I was even tried to do something in this game, but than the Warden wonder why they lose 90% of the time. They kill any new or returning player's drive to want be in their faction and make the game completely anti-fun cause like oh man "My Reg member supplied that anti-tank rifle you can't pull it out of the base without my permission nah". Like lol half Vet on Warden side just want try solo win the war and not work as a team than fight among themselves over literally basic equipment while they're actively fighting on the front. Got to a point were I just stopped grabbing equipment from bases as a Warden just spawn go out to the front with a pistol cause Warden Vet don't want you using anything other than a pistol if your a new or returning player.
@@All0Mighty0Power That's Valid, but I think it is sort of luck of the draw, because toxicity exists in both factions.; Because BadmanLarry was a popular Twitch user, the "Toxic Colonial Community" was heavily stereotyped. In reality, the game is mostly great, but there are a select few who often ruin it for new players. In addition, I think comparing toxicity between factions is relative; from what I've heard about their backlines, and from a Warden's perspective, they definitely aren't welcoming. I'd argue more aggressively, but I think we are both right in this case, yippie! (PS: No one on the colonial team will larp or even say GG, only silence or slander, I wanna larp💀) Also do wardens really fight over grabbing equipment? I think i encountered this player a couple weeks ago yelling at a new player for placing mines near a bunker. Also trying to order people around, he tried to order me around and i just ignored him .

I'm pretty new to the game myself, not really able to get into it because I don't have anyone to play with. But the times I do hop on, I can usually find some really cool dudes willing to lend their knowledge to me in trade for carrying a tripod or something LUL
Hey this game has gotten a lot better, sadly people like larry exist but they are rather disliked by the community. Also larry was banned permanently for his continued actions like this by the devs themselves.

my first one is after a mountian battel me and another dud (from turky )just stand on a platfrom watching a vally wating for warden partisan(we got like 4) and just talked for like an hour and a half..after that a push of like 20 wardens killed us(we tooka few though) and we called it in the base and gather like 15 to push them out
though i have to give my piece of advice to you aswell, while those guys probobly thought you most of the stuff... The game itself has A HUGE alting problem. since it's basicly 500% effective, and devs cant be blamed, since they dont have any microtransactions, and when players buy a game it costs 20$. so they dislike it, but cant change it since they still need the income, for the game not to die(or consider droping it). People are mostly suspicous when a private, who is very new to the game, goes to try to build something close to the frontlines. cause being enginier, takes alot of time, effort, and supplys. Big clans usually start the most BB's on the front lines, and people keep repairing, and adding to them, to keep their side from losing. But original builders, who want to make that place into something like a massive cannon platform(Storm cannon) they are very defensive about their structures, and they will fight you with teeth if they have to. it's hard to start "enginiering" without a help from a clan. Since most of them decay. There are always trolls who just wants to waste materials, and just build dicks on the map... or how they call 5g towers(massing WT's 1 around the other) using "outposts" to build AMONGUS meme wasting over 20k Basic materials, that could have sustained 4 diferent frontlines for atleast few horus each. for this game, building is probobly the hardest thing to get it down... best i could suggest is try watching some videos on YT. Or if you want to became a compotent enginier, you can join my clan(warden only though) Callahans Legion. We always ready to teach new people to get into the game ^_^
I would have expected more upvotes for this comment, but it seems like people would rather bash Larry than see that sometimes he is right about this issue of alts and cheating. It's just that he's overly paranoid and can be hard on people who he believes are not new but seasoned cheaters. OP and Larry could mend fences if they both wanted to, directly without all the flame fanning and character assassination that people like to do.
I'll be honest with you, this guy doesn't represent us colonial veterans. For the most part we'd actually help you and show you how to do it with you. He's probably thinking you're an alt. (When people from the other faction make fake accounts for the other faction to grief.) New players will always outnumber alts by a landslide. If you ever want aswell, hmu and I'll take you into my regiment and we can enjoy foxhole.
Something similar happened to me when i bought the Game two weeks ago, me and my friend bought it started the Game, had no idea what to do, grabbed some weapons and Ammo (and also what people now call "shirt" because it had a description like "you need it" and we thought it was a Medic Bag for resurrecting people), some guy killed me and my friend from our team, acted the same way and then spawnkilled us again and again until a guy we met 20 Minutes earlier earlier came in and said "yeah they are new". Apparently it was sus that we knew "how to clean the mud off by running around inside", which we asked earlier. Was on Warden Side btw.
I only just started playing this game myself (maybe 2 weeks), and anytime I've had a bad experience with it somehow BadmanLarry was involved. At least this arrogant jackass is true to his own name, so when you see it, you already have an idea of what to expect.
i had a bunch of people getting mad cuz i was upset since i got shot to death and ran over by a tank for trying to unlock a train and also having vc off so the guy couldn't say that the train was his, and instead of typing it out to make sure i can see he just killed me and had basically the entire colonial legion support him, you can toggle vc for a reason. "friendly to newbies" they said
This legit just happened to me and my friend. We just got the game when because it looked good and we made our way to the front. We got killed and respawned back at a bunker base. we were getting supplies and working out how the guns work when guess who turned up... not only did my mic not work i couldn't hear other people either so i had to go to his stream. Him and his squamates reported us despite our best efforts to defend ourselves. Guess we will be warden next time then...
fortunately for me I met actually nice players in shard 2 when I started playing this month, I am now currently spamming shirts and gsupps for the boys at the front line

Ive had the good and the bad. Although they were justifiably bad to me. I was doing logi in the heartlands when a single partisan guy showed up in one of our stolen tanks, but we only had pistols and he was just sitting with us. There were like 5 of us scrapping and some of us called out about this guy in chat but no one came to help. So we just left him alone. I managed to convince him to let me in the tank, so we started strolling around town. I did mention how it was pretty odd no one was coming after him, as we parked up in the centre of the logi hub - we were chatting in local so it was blatant that he was an enemy. When some clan guys caught on they blew the hell out of the tank and blamed me for aiding the enemy. As I said justifiable. The same guy came back a stole another tank the next day, and sat with us at the scrap yards again, despite the new defences...

One of my first few interactions with players was when we were defending a bridge (as you do) and one of the guys talking about what to do asked if I wanted to head to the other side with them as I wouldn't be able to hold the other side. In another, a guy without asking showed me the ropes on building defensive fortifications. And I was called a Chad for dismantling some mines under fire.

Just spend an hour or two hauling barbedwire and Setting up sandbags (painful to get when not a Clan member) and people will praise you.
Because barely anyone else sets up Barbedwire and Sandbags.
Why?
Because some upity clan member gets bitchy when your setting up fortifications that are not BBs.
When you know... Sandbags make it harder for Artilary and Morters to affect infantry while Barbedwire inhibits the movement of Hostiles.
Oh and there is the classic setting up a sandbag wall behind a barbed Trench with machineguns/AT-Guns ontop of the sandbag wall.

I had the exact opposite encounter when I first played foxhole, a guy saw me running on the side of the road and asked if I needed a ride. When I told him I just bought the game he brought me to scrap with him and basically hung out for a while.

Unfortunately there is a small but really vocal minority of people like this in this game and they suck all of the fun out of it for everyone. They seem to forget really easily that they were new at one point and didn't know how to play either. Their egos are really big for people who seem to spend most of their free time playing a somewhat obscure MMO which is pretty sad. Luckily if you have enough people around and these tards are around you, and you fire back and make fun of them they typically stop and or leave the game because no one wants them around
Theres assholes in every community but yeah some dudes really dont have anything better to do other than just bully no ranks all day, that being said i also think no ranks should ask questions first before trying to do anything since foxhole takes a bit of time to get familar with the basics.

This happened to me last night - not even an hour into the game…
Found an unlocked tank, the sign nearby said anyone could use them, so I hopped in and decided to see if I could help the nearby team flank the enemy.
Next thing you know, I’m accused of being an ALT, having stolen a tank, “taking it solo to the collie base” (the guy in the turret hopped out and committed suicide), killing teammates who ran in front of my tank and then everyone in chat is told to BAN me for no reason.
After arguing for about 10mins In game through chat - cause I also had no idea about audio set up and comms - the dude suddenly apologises to me and starts ranting about how people are using ALT accounts to steal vehicles and shit…
Ummm, my account is about 5 years old, and I have less than an hour in the game in total, I have no infractions/bad reports or anything on steam or this game, so why would I need an ALT?

Yeah I'm new too. So I spent some time talking to some more experienced dudes in a defense. And the picture they painted is quite grim with alt accounts. I didn't think it was as bad as they described until a friendly ran up with a looted gas Grenade and gassed friendly tanks :/ Luckily most of the Collies I met so far have been super helpful after talking with them for a bit.
Yeah there has been a LONG LONG history of shady team alts ruining entire fronts etc, so like I 100% get why he was concerned and why anyone gets livid when they think they found an alt... but this is just NOT the way to handle the problem even IF this guy was an alt. LOL.

Haven't a clue what he's on about 'new players don't have shovels'. Most players have to become at least SGT before they stop picking up shovels, myself included.
Cool base btw, looks like it could actually be useful in a one-way frontline fight. Side bunkers with open vision make it a bit harder to flank, forward base can be easily garrisoned to protect from direct approach (upgrade to Rifle Garrison will do this even better), if you could get yourself some AT emplacements ('EAT' for short) the base has potential so long as there's players to man it. It'd do well with some strategically placed wire across the front approach, make grenade yeeters cry a little harder.
I mean, it'll get PvE'd by an organised group almost immediately, but the anti-partisan meta is difficult even for experienced builders to wrap their heads around.
Now that actual foxholes were added, there's a reason to carry shovels to the Frontline. Great times for Kriegsmen.

I got the game two weeks ago, I was making a ton of scrap into fuel yesterday when I got in from work, I filled up a fuel truck to put at seaport since there was only one there, I fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the sea with a fuel truck full, immediately got accused of being an alt. I went offline because I wasn't going to convince the guy but I'm kind of worried about going on tomorrow once I finish work because he was in a clan and will probably have people he tells these things too. I'm a solo logi and I reckon I'm probably gonna have trouble
Truth be told, people will always find reasons to bully other people. Avoidance is a good tactic. Getting into a squad with other people, even if you aren't working directly with them, is another good tactic. You don't want to be alone and isolated, so that you have a good alibi. Don't feel bad, even experienced players screw up and can accidentally drive into the river.
I started playing this with the wardens, i ended up with motly crew from different countries who managed to find the time to play together 8+ 12+ time diff. We did material gathering first then logi, then tank squad, found out where shit at it then we tried arti/mortar squad found out we're somewhat decent at it. We have not played together for about a year now as most of us have children now but damn its a good memory.

Well, a year ago or so I was playing Collie and the base was being hit by artillery so I begin to repair. After a few minutes, it’s only me and this one other guy repairing, with people constantly respawning and running away. He starts complaining about how he is the only guy to ever repair anything and so on. I’m just sitting there in silence thinking “Dude, I’m literally next to you, you’re not the only one repairing” then I remember I only play Warden and was only Colonial because my brother wanted to play that faction. So, he actually was the only “Colonial” repairing, lol. That was Badmanlarry, the myth himself, I almost couldn’t believe it. “GET SHREDDED!!” Lmao, great meme

so sad...foxhole is actually one of the few games ive ever played where the comunity was overwhelmingly friendly and ready to carebear in the most unexpected moments....this guy must be the 0,01 worst luck rng of people to meet...
as a warden player i can say without a doubt thats a sick bunker and that i have never made one as good looking as that

frontline trench warfare is strength in number so recruits are always welcomed. chill infantry mute the sweats who berate us from a tank, or a guy stops by our trench to larp as an angry pompous officer who gained his high rank by driving a truck all night, but toxic players seem to avoid frontline as soon as their light tank gets destroyed. they usually rage quit after 15 minutes of unheard shouting because everyone muted them.
I bought the game like 1 week ago and my first touch from the game was amazing, i started as collies because i saw a "warning queues" on warden team on Charlie server.
I started on "the moors" when collies didn't take the most part of the region.
Just when i get out of the base i spawned, two guys on a jeep told me to get in the vehicle to do partisans, i had micro but i didn't even know how to use it or been able to write, not to talk that i thought i must press "E" to get in the jeep, when they teach me how to do that we go with a third guy in a truck waiting us on the enemy territory, i was scared as hell but fortunately no one saw us.
We then reach to a mountain and some grasp where we hide our vehicle out of the road and ourselves waiting for some enemy logi, basically partisan.
We took like 1 truck and then leaves and the leader even worry about me for waiting like 3 minutes till something happen as my first game experience.
I had a lot of fun and now i learn how to do all sorts of things, in one week i even learn how to lead a couple of tanks on the frontlines(3 in total) and my favourite work as collie is heal and revive other teammates with my badass suit while turning on "how to save a life" riding a bike 😎.

As a long time vet and knowing where the video was going, I could not stop laughing when I saw Larry drive up. I went uh.... oh.. haha. I hope you kept playing, its not for everyone.
I had a very similar experience my very first time in foxhole as well. When I first spawned in I had no idea what I was doing so I started walking around some area far out in some warden backing. I find a conveniently placed MG half track with a sign that says " this is molly she killed goblins". I take and drive around and I notice I'm being followed by guys in another half-truths. Stupidly I try to out pace them. They some how end up in front me with there machine gun facing in front of me. They start interrogating me and order me to leave the truck to prove I'm not an alt. (I had no idea what an alternative was and I couldn't even use local chat) so I sit there until one of them tells me the push to talk key after that I talk them down and they believe I'm new. They take me and the half track go and deal with some partisans down the road where I get blown up after taking about 3 or 4 sticks. I get invited to the reg and a year late I'm an officer and still friends without two guys I met.
10/10 experience
And the worst I usually do two new players is tell him a joke and then frag him.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I got the game the other day and tried jumping into the front. I'm not used to the top down style and was having trouble staying alive. I logged on the next morning with my coffee and figured I'd try out logistics and ran into a few guys that gave me tips on what to do and how to be safe. Later on that day I was running back to get more supplies to take to the front and ran across a player being attacked by a partisan, I ran the partisan over and we transferred his cargo to my truck delivered it and then went back with friendly armor to clean up the rest of the partisans. It was exciting and lots of fun, after we were done they asked me if I was new and how I was liking the game, gave a few tips on combat and recommended some communities to join to learn more with people instead of solo. The only people I've run into that were kind of "meh" were people that were blasting music through a megaphone into their mic (sounded that way anyway) and a few people that seemed in a rush to do something and I was in the way.
Yup exactly what is wrong with the player base in this game. There is a dude on the official discord that constantly says he has to shout at new players to get them to do stuff and also says new players dont stay more than 20 hours so why teach them? Some how doesnt think these 2 things could be connected 😂
Well that's a different issue. Thinking you can order people around is troublesome. Persuade people to follow in order to achieve the common goal is the way. Don't act like you can herd cats, or that you're entitled to other people doing what you say. All games with social interactions like this have their bad moments, but the good outweighs the bad.
Nice bunker design. I don't know how well it works in combat. I'm not much of a builder. But it looks cool!

Thank god I started today and everyone was just mute people, a few talked but they were part of a team and (thankfully) just let me do my thing, tho some communication would have been appreciated lmao, had no idea what to do and where to do it

Yeah I had the exact opposite experience. We were new and had just scrooped what was (for us) a buttload of RMats. One of the dudes from a larger regiment just came along and took everything we had as we didn't know about private stockpiles. Afterwards we confronted him and the dude was like not understanding at all and basically victim-blaming. Eventually his compatriots covered for him and paid us back, but since it took so long to be repaid and my group has had a "hit back" policy for the decade or so we've been around in other games, we ended up finding where they were based out of, joyriding in their train, dumping the coal, and disconnecting a bunch of their facilities.
We decided to play collies next war, and found a bunch more friendly folks around, and were willing to help out more as a result.
It might have been petty, but people shouldn't fuck with others who may have a lot of patience and vast reserves of spite just because they think they're untouchable by being in a big regi.
@@Sam_Graves Weird i got 200h in the game and haven't met a single major asshole. Sure some people are kinda dicks but overall most people are decent folks. Also never seen someone act like an "alt" Im sure they exist but people make it sound like they are everywhere.
little bit of paranoia here. i've been playing this game for 3 days now, and all players i've encountered so far were fine, nothing like here. but i can understand his point of view. it takes a lot of work to setup defense line and team work is the key to do so. so seeing some random person running around with no purpose could set off alarm bells... as in, hes a spy checking out our defences ect.
i need to take that time and learn how to plan trenches, but i havnt yet. i just dig out the plans and use my hammer on stuff that blue or needs repair

IMO Warden 100x more toxic than colonial, I capture and larp with Colonial all time when I was Warden. But my teammates I was team killed, screamed at, and harassed by toxic shit heads ever time I was even tried to do something in this game, but than the Warden wonder why they lose 90% of the time. They kill any new or returning player's drive to want be in their faction and make the game completely anti-fun cause like oh man "My Reg member supplied that anti-tank rifle you can't pull it out of the base without my permission nah". Like lol half Vet on Warden side just want try solo win the war and not work as a team than fight among themselves over literally basic equipment while they're actively fighting on the front. Got to a point were I just stopped grabbing equipment from bases as a Warden just spawn go out to the front with a pistol cause Warden Vet don't want you using anything other than a pistol if your a new or returning player.
@@All0Mighty0Power That's Valid, but I think it is sort of luck of the draw, because toxicity exists in both factions.; Because BadmanLarry was a popular Twitch user, the "Toxic Colonial Community" was heavily stereotyped. In reality, the game is mostly great, but there are a select few who often ruin it for new players. In addition, I think comparing toxicity between factions is relative; from what I've heard about their backlines, and from a Warden's perspective, they definitely aren't welcoming.
I'd argue more aggressively, but I think we are both right in this case, yippie!

Also do wardens really fight over grabbing equipment? I've been playing for a decent amount of time and I have never experienced that, and I'm still a Ocdt, so I'm still a noob to most vets

I think i encountered this player a couple weeks ago yelling at a new player for placing mines near a bunker. Also trying to order people around, he tried to order me around and i just ignored him .
My first interaction was driving a truck of peace across a bridge and running players over with another guy. 10/10 will keep playing.
Bro I think this is the same guy who reported me and a group of dudes for building a whole ass trench and bunker line because we were apparently "Supplying the enemy team" Dude has a serious delusional God complex. I'm pretty new to the game myself, not really able to get into it because I don't have anyone to play with. But the times I do hop on, I can usually find some really cool dudes willing to lend their knowledge to me in trade for carrying a tripod or something LUL
Hey this game has gotten a lot better, sadly people like larry exist but they are rather disliked by the community. Also larry was banned permanently for his continued actions like this by the devs themselves.

Build some fortifications with AI too okay, and don't forget to store bunker supplies (the one with barrel image and soldier's water can one)
my first one is after a mountian battel me and another dud (from turky )just stand on a platfrom watching a vally wating for warden partisan(we got like 4) and just talked for like an hour and a half..after that a push of like 20 wardens killed us(we tooka few though) and we called it in the base and gather like 15 to push them out
though i have to give my piece of advice to you aswell, while those guys probobly thought you most of the stuff...
The game itself has A HUGE alting problem. since it's basicly 500% effective, and devs cant be blamed, since they dont have any microtransactions, and when players buy a game it costs 20$. so they dislike it, but cant change it since they still need the income, for the game not to die(or consider droping it).
People are mostly suspicous when a private, who is very new to the game, goes to try to build something close to the frontlines.
cause being enginier, takes alot of time, effort, and supplys. Big clans usually start the most BB's on the front lines, and people keep repairing, and adding to them, to keep their side from losing. But original builders, who want to make that place into something like a massive cannon platform(Storm cannon) they are very defensive about their structures, and they will fight you with teeth if they have to.
it's hard to start "enginiering" without a help from a clan. Since most of them decay. There are always trolls who just wants to waste materials, and just build dicks on the map... or how they call 5g towers(massing WT's 1 around the other) using "outposts" to build AMONGUS meme wasting over 20k Basic materials, that could have sustained 4 diferent frontlines for atleast few horus each.
for this game, building is probobly the hardest thing to get it down... best i could suggest is try watching some videos on YT. Or if you want to became a compotent enginier, you can join my clan(warden only though) Callahans Legion. We always ready to teach new people to get into the game ^_^
I would have expected more upvotes for this comment, but it seems like people would rather bash Larry than see that sometimes he is right about this issue of alts and cheating. It's just that he's overly paranoid and can be hard on people who he believes are not new but seasoned cheaters. OP and Larry could mend fences if they both wanted to, directly without all the flame fanning and character assassination that people like to do.
I'll be honest with you, this guy doesn't represent us colonial veterans. For the most part we'd actually help you and show you how to do it with you. He's probably thinking you're an alt. (When people from the other faction make fake accounts for the other faction to grief.) New players will always outnumber alts by a landslide. If you ever want aswell, hmu and I'll take you into my regiment and we can enjoy foxhole.
Something similar happened to me when i bought the Game two weeks ago, me and my friend bought it started the Game, had no idea what to do, grabbed some weapons and Ammo (and also what people now call "shirt" because it had a description like "you need it" and we thought it was a Medic Bag for resurrecting people), some guy killed me and my friend from our team, acted the same way and then spawnkilled us again and again until a guy we met 20 Minutes earlier earlier came in and said "yeah they are new". Apparently it was sus that we knew "how to clean the mud off by running around inside", which we asked earlier. Was on Warden Side btw.
I mean, it kinda defeats the purpose of wanting to save shirts, if he keep killing you, and thus draining shirts...

I only just started playing this game myself (maybe 2 weeks), and anytime I've had a bad experience with it somehow BadmanLarry was involved. At least this arrogant jackass is true to his own name, so when you see it, you already have an idea of what to expect.
i had a bunch of people getting mad cuz i was upset since i got shot to death and ran over by a tank for trying to unlock a train and also having vc off so the guy couldn't say that the train was his, and instead of typing it out to make sure i can see he just killed me and had basically the entire colonial legion support him, you can toggle vc for a reason. "friendly to newbies" they said
This legit just happened to me and my friend. We just got the game when because it looked good and we made our way to the front. We got killed and respawned back at a bunker base. we were getting supplies and working out how the guns work when guess who turned up... not only did my mic not work i couldn't hear other people either so i had to go to his stream. Him and his squamates reported us despite our best efforts to defend ourselves. Guess we will be warden next time then...
