Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures! I always love seeing new places and what someone thinks of the place and the experience. I hope you have a fantastic rest of your vacation and are able to really wind down and relax. There's nothing worse than coming back home from a vacation and feeling like you need a vacation from what you just put yourself through! Take care and keep smiling!
Loved your tour and it was very educational. I'm 77 years old. My best friend and hunting buddy did 2 tours of duty as a combat Marine in Vietnam. He died in 1997 a victim of that war. The cause of death was cancer brought on by exposure to Agent Orange. I knew him before he left for Vietnam and when he got back. I can tell you that he was not the same person. His marriage fell apart and he had trouble keeping a job. This lousy war that was based on a lie by our President, Lyndon Baines Johnson never should have taken place. I am glad to hear that the Vietnamese people have moved in even though they continue to suffer from its effects. If they can move on maybe then I can too and for that I thank you for sharing your trip with your fans. You really are a beautiful lady in so many ways. God be with you.
We have a very large Vietnamese community here in south Mississippi, as they migrated here to work the shrimp boats and huge seafood industry we have. I've always wanted to visit there as they are great people and I absolutely love their food here, especially the pho, which I eat weekly! 🥣🧡
You could feel the anxiety and claustrophobia going thru them tiny humid steamy hot tunnels. Imagine, they had to stay down there hours at a time to all day / night. I guess when you at war you mind is on other things than the tunnels. Great holiday blog mary cherry 🍒 where the content may vary.
THANK YOU so much for sharing your latest adventure. You're an amazing world traveler and always a delight to watch and listen to. (P.S. - The braids look fabulous and comfortable!!)
My Dad and an uncle were veterans of Vietnam, U.S. Army, with another uncle having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. This was a very interesting look at this country, as the only stories I ever hear about it involves war. Also, I dig the braids!
If you want to know the truth about the VN war, ask some Vietnamese Australian refugee living in Australia. The kid in orange shirt was only saying what he's taught in history book that's written from the perspective of the winning side which was the North VN. Also, you were right that the Korean war was very similar to the VN war in so many ways.
W Vlog because all the Irl streamers I see in Asia showing everything Mary let us saw a little something. Lol. ❤ We (Houston) have a huge Vietnamese population. Most of the families fled during the war. Even as immigrants there is a countryside divide that seems going back to the war.
I was 14 when everything came to an end in Vietnam and it really shook me up. I had grown up with the war and I felt that one day I would serve there as so many before me had done. My Drill Instructors in Marine boot camp were all Vietnam vets and they were all deranged to a certain degree.
Man I dont know about those tunnels Mary. I was feeling claustrophobic just watching, I dont know how I'd go down there myself. Maybe the vid made it look worse than it is haha.
