    HOG Zenith Regulator…balanced environmentally sealed diaphragm regulators are incredibly well built and are priced fairly, it is difficult to surpass their quality or even match it. Seriously curious if you guys have used them and still rate them a C?

    Question, Is new Oceanic junk compared to the older stuff say 2002-2004 product line? My dads health at 70 has ended his diving career and he has passed on all his gear to me I know I will need to see if all the gear can be serviced and brought up to snuff. Is Oceanic just junk all around?? Specific to their Regulators is my concern

    What....no Poseidon?
    Used by verious Navys, rescue divers NYPD, Coastguard and even NASA.
    The SE7EN ccr.
    The Cyklone Introduced in 1958 one of the first singel hose regs and still made today. Jetstream (use them myself) can be used to 656feet and diliver really high flowrates at every depth.
    Granted thay are a bit "industreal" in there design, not so much Lamborghini Countach more Volvo V70.
    But thats got to count for something...right?

      @@badgermoon9229 Hi, To be honest I have never noticed that, they tend to drift upwards along the side of hood, and mostly I am with a film camera or rigging something so it's not something that I've had to think about, will keep it in mind tomorrow :) but that is why they exhaust from the side so that the exhaust gas vents out of the way.

    Any thoughts on the HOGTotal Buoyancy Control System Package with 32lb wing? Buying my first bcd and going back and forth between the HOG, DGX BP/W, and or just getting Zeagle Stilleto (despite the weight system). Recreational diver. Will be diving Nor Cal plus warm water travel diving.

    • @DiveVibe
      @DiveVibe  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'd go DGX bpw. It'll be nice to have the modularity. You'll likely wear a lot of weight in Nor Cal, it'll be nice to be able to strip down your bcd to do some easy dives in a rash guard in Cozumel or wherever. Having a steel plate for extra weight in the cold water is also very useful.

    • @ArzhangBoloorian
      @ArzhangBoloorian 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks. Was leaning toward the Zeagle for simplicity. Just fold it and go but was hesitant because of the horseshoe wing and soft plate. Have heard and read the horseshoe can be a little difficult when it comes to releasing air.

    Recent mask change to a Cressi and can't believe how comfy it is for me. My gear is great for travel to warm water locales and focused slightly on minimalist. ScubaPro HydrosPro w/Air2 & Mk 25 w/ A700 and Teric with transmitter. Love my gear, love your shows.

    Hollis replaced my drysuit, no questions asked. Seem leak. Regs, drysuit, semi dry suit, masks etc I have them all, been diving for over 20 years and it's about the company and do they back their products and hollis does, my buddy who is crazy hard on gear had his semi dry suit replaced at least 5 times with little questioning about what happened. Last year I purchased the prism 2 from hollis, so I feel comfortable commenting on Hollis products. Before Hollis all I dove was scuba pro. Never thought I'd switch to any other brand.

    Pretty much agree 100%. Shearwater are the computers i push everyone that asks towards, although my partner dives a garmin mk2 descent and loves the thing.

    Great video. I'm really in love with XDEEP as well, but torn on their ST BCs... I want one for travel and the Ghost seems to be the go-to for that, but I like how the Zen has bladder separate from the protective outside (Ghost does not). What are your thoughts? I do want to get into tech diving, so leaning towards Zen, and prob fine paying extra for luggage fees if it's just the better buy. Glad I found your channel the other day. Aluminium Zen is the S Tier BPW setup. Just get the camband trim pockets and you can add up to about 12kg of lead if you need it for drysuit. The centre of buoyancy beats the crap out of my previous system which was a mashup of a custom divers backplate steel (old tech style), APEKS WTX30 PSD wing and a Halcyon harness. The webbing is a lot more rigid than the Halcyon stuff though so might change it out for a Halcyon harness if it doesn't soften up with time.

    If this is to be apples to apples tier list, you shouldn't mix in specialist brands (JJ, Kiss- they only do CCRs; Shearwater - only computers), otherwise, we could start listing drysuit makers, other computer brands, only torch makers and list OrcaTorch on S tier. Thats not helpful.
    First, you should establish a clear criteria for which brands are on the list in the first place and why.
    For a general purpose tier list you should only have large enough brands that do at least regs & BCs/Wings + other stuff, IMHO

    came across this and it is a good video but I think there needs to be a little context here. I have been diving for ten years. Not much by many people's standards but, none the less, I would point out that this is abit biased to the technical diving side of things. I am not a technical diver and connot speak to their point on these issues. As a rec diver I would say you should listen very closely to their concerns that caused them to down rate certain brands. They aren't wrong, but do your care if HOG made a bade side mount BCD if you are a rec diver? there are sveral other examples like this. good info. shouldn't be discounted. just should be put in context. listen closely before just looking at the graphic and choosing. that said, i really agree with their Suunto comments. My sheawater dies and I was given a Suunto by the dive shop and OMG it was so loud, hard to manipulate and so conservative I cannot believe I completed more than 2 dives in a day.
