I saw Dave schools at a phish show in Atlanta sitting near me, nbd, long time ago at the fox. The bands don't share the fan's obsession with this being a rivalry. Horde tour was to help them both tap each others fan bases northern and southern.

Phish is jazz band playing rock and Panic is rock band playing jazz.
