Not something anybody want is to have anything affect your vision. My dad has had several operations on one of his eyes as he had a detachment which was probably due to a motorcycle accident he had a long time ago. But also having Diabetes too this is a big problem as this also has a huge impact to vision which is not an ideal scenario. He has had several operations on his eye whilst being fully awake and describes it as a very strange sensation and as far as having his eyes dilated too, for some time after everything becomes so bright he's forced to wear sun glasses to make it easier. Fingers crossed for a smooth operation and a speedy recovery.

How does a retina even detatch? Like what could of caused that?

A traumatic impact, or you can even be born with it. The doctor has said there's scarring which indicates I've had it for a while
