    Hi Tim. It's great you're talking openly about these issues. It's important for men to open up about stuff like this. As a bloke in my mid-fifties I can relate to alot of the issues you mention and have suffered depression and all that goes with the anxiety and low self esteem it can bring.Times are tough, and unnecessarily so, but everything goes around and hopefully will get better.

      Yeah, I wish he would talk more about this and maybe do Skype calls with ex-addicts. I’m especially curious about Benzodiazepine addiction.
      I’m in my early 40’s. In Minecraft:
      I’m addicted to Benzodiazepines and Methadone. And I’m also trying desperately to hang on to my wife whilst going throughout withdrawals now and again because they keep changing my dose of Methadone. I also feel lonely, I never go out, and I know she will never understand the pain I feel daily as I wake up, body screaming for medication every single damn day. I don’t know if I would be brave enough to delete myself.
      My life is physically and mentally painful. I have crippling anxiety as well.
      The only things that bring me joy is my wife and my PC and Flight/ Racing simulations. Playing multiplayer etc, competitive.
      I used to be a health freak and into bodybuilding years ago.
      I took a lot of Benzodiazepines for just over two weeks before my wedding in 2017 and now I’m screwed.
      I think I could get off the Methadone in time but the Benzos, they are much, much worse! In Minecraft of course.

      There are plenty of us out there in the same boat. What I have found over the past 10 years looking into this is low T, it is the key to a lot of mens issues but the UK health service will not recognise this exists. In America they are staring to listening and there are clinics that help men. In the UK to be tested you will have to pay yourself and it can run into thousands, but if you are a person a female wanting to transition into a man there are clinics specially for Testosterone replacement and its all free in the NHS. There is a massive imbalance in the country today.

    • @British_Dragon-Simulations
      @British_Dragon-Simulations ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@crocodilebelfast I know about this as I was a bodybuilder. Now my Testosterone levels are very low now I've stopped.
      I went to the Dr's and they said my Testosterone levels were fine because I had stubble on my face. Really! The NHS is a joke!
      If you have low T their are a few options you can do yourself. Lift weights and eat healthy. Try to get Testosterone Gel from your Dr's which is very weak and horrible stuff that gets everywhere. Or at your own risk, try self medicating with either HCG or put Testosterone Enanthate oil in your ass cheek once a week yourself.
      But be warned. Taking Testosterone will suppress and lower your naturally produced Testosterone even more.

    “Throw our old kit at Ukraine and ask Gov for more money” The Ukrainian war is a test bed for military contractors (we all know who they are) to test and evaluate their products. What works and what doesn’t. Someone benefits from war financially and that’s the sad truth of it. It’s very easy to point the finger and say that person is a conspiracy theorist but taking a step back and thinking about what they’ve said certainly raises a eyebrow or two.

    The best thing I've found for mood lifting and helps with building muscle is Fasting for up to 24 hours. Getting your body into a state of Autophagy helps it rid of those misfolded proteins, clears dead cells out, torches fat and ramps up your HGH which boosts Testosterone production. Low T is something a lot of men who have had decades of a shit diet face as they enter their middle ages and it has a noticeable effect on your mood etc.

    Hi Tim, I stopped drinking in January - initially to complete Dry January. I felt good about that and have carried it over into February - this was the longest I'd gone without a drink since I started drinking ( at 17.. I'm 47 now). I've also been exercising (I started this year 4 stone overweight). Last week, I felt absolutely crap.. just really really low. On Saturday night I fell off the wagon spectacularly and have felt shame about that since. Thank you for sharing your recent experience, it has given me a bit of a boost. Although I'm still not out of the woods with depression, you've been a big help. I'm determined to keep it up and I'm also working towards becoming a full time artist, which is all good pressure - even if I struggle to deal with it sometimes. I've waffled on (sorry), but thank you.

    I spoke about this today on a market update about aerospace and defence companies. Ukraine gave their share prices a boost, and now every time their share prices drop suddenly Zelensky pops up somewhere asking for more weapons. It’s almost like we’re using UKR as an opportunity to dump old weapons/stock…so that defence companies can generate new revenues on the re-supply.

    Get a motorbike if you can, and get out in the fresh air, some low level riding (not insane speed) can cleanse the soul of depressed thoughts, I once sat in a tree with a specially designed noose around my neck which included extras like razer wire and a spike at the base of my neck to do a proper job on my decent, I was very sick! "Grow a pair" and "man up" was never therapy to me, families positive words broke through to me. im struggling with being unemployed currently, after being made redundant on Christmas Eve, I will make it though, the unity through this channel alone will make it happen, especially with the thought I might shake Tim Davies hand one day! sharing is caring its halving the pain, brothers and sisters keep uniting and smiling to each other.

They were great and helped give me the skills/techniques to cope with my situation which I use daily. Ultimately I made the decision to retire and go for quality of life; the best decision I could have made. I'm now making TH-cam videos on my flying activities and teaching people to fly microlights. Hi Tim, only watched a small number of your TH-cam videos, but felt compelled to comment on this one.
    As a pilot, I understand how hard it is to talk about mental health, to admit there is an issue, is to invite censure, so kudos to you for admitting that we are human, and that we have bad days and sometimes it's not OK in our lives.
    Secondly, what is going on in Ukraine?
    Simply put;
    Operational Research.
    We are testing our kit in an operational environment against a likely near peer enemy, with no risk to NATO.
    How could you get anything better than that?
    It's about the military/industrial complex making more money and the boys at the top getting new shiny toys, and building links for cushy, high paying, advisor positions when they leave the services.
    Or am I being cynical?
    Keep up the good work.
    Keep talking about mental health. It's where the Government has broken the Covenant.

    I've just re-read 1984. We were forced to read it at school (circa 1977) and I rebelled a bit as it was hard going for me then. Having read it fully this time as an adult it struck me how close we are to feeling that level of control. It's almost like Orwell was penning a premonition rather than a novel. Ok, he was a bit out with his timing - but even so, scary stuff.

I now work for a small company designing cutting edge stuff with a bunch of also slightly crusty mid-50-year-olds. When we all retire or die off in a few years time, the company will be dead in the water. I don't see us being replaced by anyone, and certainly not by anyone sponsored by or from the woke brigade. Sadly they wound the company up ten+ years ago, as the taxes, lack of support from both Central and Local Government were such that they could no longer keep it going. All the IP and "interesting" equipment was sold to German and Swiss companies.
      On finding out the "interesting" equipment had gone abroad there was "concern" moving to "panic". As the UK Government had put no money in they could not say it was not theirs to sell. We're now buying the steels from Germany, at a price per batch that the company could have been bought for.

I don't doubt it would be quite an effort to pull together some jags, and I also don't think they would last long, but was surprised at the number of full/ish airframes. That being said, each one has 2 adour's and given we can't get Adour flying in Hawks, it won't be any prettier in jags.

    ExNavy. Diagnosed with PTSD IN 2020 after being hit by a tractor. I was physically ok but for bruised tissue but about 2 months later my mental state basically collapsed and there’s nothing I could do about it. The sad thing is you then don’t think you belong at work and you don’t think you belong with your family so you end up isolating yourself then begins the loneliness and if you don’t chose to get out of it it gets worse. I was lucky enough to find a great therapist that gave me the tools to start climbing those ladders…unfortunately there are snakes. Recovery isn’t linear and it’s something you have to work at. I still have bad days and cycling has become a big part of my therapy. The other problem is cost…it’s expensive to get help. What you are doing by reaching out is invaluable ❤

    Just came across your channel. Great listening to someone with common sense, which seems rare these days.
    I feel lonely all the time, but I am thankful that some family and friends make sure I am not always alone. I have always been negative about myself and lacked confidence because of this. If it wasnt for the fact I am able to go out with friends every now and then, and I manage to do drone work 7 times a year (thanks to one of my cousins), I would NEVER leave my flat. I think it got worse after the passing of my parents in 2017/2018.
    I am single, 50 yr old, and live alone in my flat (single due to negative thoughts leading to confidence issues), and I want to do so many things, but just keep hitting a brick wall. I am grateful for the family and friends that are there when I need them, problem is I hate bothering people with my issues as I know people have issues of their own. I would rather help them than help myself. Lately, my sleeping has been all over the place. Sometimes not wanting to go to sleep, or unable to fall asleep, so awake for 30/40 hrs then falling asleep during the day. Working on it and slightly better now, but the diabetes isn’t helping I don’t think.
    Having people around that you can relax with and talk to, is a must, when you feel like this. I just need to find that confidence and motivation to do things, like clean my flat, go out on my own. Listening to you does give me hope I can get through this mindset I have right now. Hearing you mention the weights etc, makes me want to do more exercise, just a case of braking down that wall to do more. I need more YT videos like yours.
    I also agree with everything you said about the Ukraine War. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. A pleasant change to the toxic, woke, videos out there. Thank you.

    • @FastJetPerformance
      @FastJetPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are not alone SImon and I understand the wall that exists infront of our necessity to move about a bit. It can be the simplest of things to get us started - a walk to the end of the road, for example, but the key is to get ourselves outside of the four walls. I wish you all the best, society needs people like you - cleaning the flat instills a sense of pride and achievement however small that might seem - it means something to us internally. Sleep is an issue for me too - I hate it and find it hard to fall or stay asleep - I've been using Zinc and Magnesioum - that helps but also staying away from TVs etc for 2 hours pre-bedtime. I know it sucks but that blue light thing is real - looking forward to talking again soon and thanks for the comment.

    • @wolverine343534
      @wolverine343534 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@FastJetPerformance yes, when I do manage to clean, even just 1 room, in the flat, it feels good. It is definitely an achievement of sorts.
      Some of my family and friends keep telling me to get out more. I know I should, but sometimes I just feel I can’t. When asked to join family and friends I jump at the chance, cause I don’t get out enough (although there are times I make excuses not to join them). I think part of it is living alone, the confidence to go and do things on my own, is low. I am trying each day, and know I can’t totally give up. Even if I don’t manage to do anything, at least i know I want to and I am trying.
      Sometimes it is a catch 22. Some folk say reading before bed helps, so might try that.

    I served in the RAF from 1988 to 2011 mostly on aircraft squadrons as a supplier. I served on 6/41/54 Sqn Jags out of Coltishall, 31 Sqn Tornados out of RAF Bruggen. Just to deploy overseas on exercises let alone live ops such as Gulf Wars I & II the logistics were massive and complex. I know that for every 2 hour sortie the Aircraft Turnaround times were probably treble this and that’s assuming the Aircraft returned without any major snags.
    I also know that pilots spend months on OCUs to ensure combat ready status on a particular type. So how the hell do we expect to deploy a number of fighter aircraft without the proper logistical engineering support? It’s a joke

I'm a high earner, very work driven, had a lot of that "feeling lost on weekends" that you spoke about and I've always classed myself as quite a mentally resilient and stable person. And I think I am, but certainly since COVID, something has been "off" and I've had some really troublesome days and can empathise with that feeling of darkness far more than I'd like. And I think the worst thing is not knowing why - my life is great, I know it's great, I worked hard to make it great - so why do I have this feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach.... I could also talk all day about how middle aged blokes are treated, and how phrases like midlife crisis are banded around for laughs. There's a reason the s word is our number 1 killer.

I'm fortunate in that there's not presently much going wrong in my life (though I'm no stranger to chaos) but the constant noise of divisive woke nonsense chipping away at British values and standards really saps much of the joy out of life. It seems silly, as 90% of it sit's firmly outside one's own sphere of influence but for whatever reason, I find it hard not to take it all personally. Fundamentally, the total absence of political and moral leadership in the UK right now is hard to swallow. Still, excellent advice to get moving: that is firmly in my sphere...
