Considering what they did with Dooku’s solar sailer, these guys were in charge of the droid factories for a reason. If only their story didn’t end with Tarkin…
Geonosian weapons and craft were the most alien even by Star Wars standards. I remember in Star Wars: Republic Commando where Geonosian Elite forces were armed with beam cannons that were literally embedded into the arms of their users.
Yup, these bugs do aim. And it's very interesting how this whole thing is pretty much magnetically attached by each section, possibly meaning emp weapons could cause the fighters to fall apart like legos. If that's how it works that is, most likely it's not the case. But an interesting Starfighter with a unique design and functionality in regards to the species that uses it. Though I could never properly fly the dang things in both OG BF games.
It always amused me, how both CIS and laye Republuc/Empire both adopted swarm crafts, such as Nantex, Vulture, V-wings and TIE fighters, as space superiority fighters, such as Z-95s and ARC-170s became too vulnerable to interceptors. And then in GalCiv war we see exact reverse of that military trend, with light interceptors being replaced with superiority fighters, such as X- and E-wings, Avengers and Defenders, and even interceptors getting shield generator as a standart feature. It's amazing the Baktoid engineers were able to cram d3flector into such sleek starfighter, tbh.
Since you just talked about a starfighter used in the Clone Wars, how about a video on the A-DSD Advanced Dwarf Spider Droid the Droids seen in the Republic Commando game? Also, since you mentioned Severance Tan(hope I spelled that right), maybe consider a video discussion Dooku's Dark Acolytes he had during the Clone Wars?
You said that each fighter was bonded to a specific pilot and that one only, but what happened if the ship was destroyed and the pilot survived or vice versa?
What about the heavy version of the nantex, that launches volleys of homing missiles capable of disintegrating other starfighters in seconds, and rip even acclamators apart horribly without their escorts?
The game Galactic Battlegrounds has a whole tech tree for the Geonosian fighter and it has more advanced models of it. Sadly, these models only appear in this game and no other Star Wars books, games or comics ever used them.
I wouldn't call a Geonosian-only niche starfighter "overpowered". Exclusives just can't catch on in a galaxy that hungers for natural diversity even in warfare. Not helping is that I enjoyed flying the Republic LAAT/i more in the Battlefront I simulations, and was a bit woeful when they weren't included in the BF II sims... although at least there were no Geonosians and Nantexes flying around anymore.

At least in legends they weren't wiped out even if they didn't do much after the clone wars until that war with those insect aliens

Don't Remind Me
“Good thing those bugs can’t aim”

Famous last words.

I love the geonosian starfighter they are so cool and so unique and so fast l wish we seen more them in clone wars
The Geonosian pilots were so good at what they did that we never once heard about them. Legendary!
This really is such an oddly designed ship, I never took a moment to appreciate it before

I think Sev embodies how I feel about Geonosians
The Nantex has always been my favourite starfighter, such a shame that only geonosians can pilot them

Geonosian Starfighters I’ve alway found cool!
So unique and look so cool!
Dettecting some coralskipper vibes, wondering how a confrontation would have worked out.
I love the cross sections from the books of these ships
I bet Anakin Skywalker would have a challenging time to fly that starfighter.
You said that each fighter was bonded to a specific pilot and that one only, but what happened if the ship was destroyed and the pilot survived or vice versa?
Would be interesting how well it would perform with a jedi pilot
It would have to be heavily modified, since there are no Geonosian Jedi or Sith.
Spinning is truly, undoubtedly, a good trick.
Clones: Good thing those bugs can’t aim
Geonosion: We have better aim than your stormtroopers
Stormtroopers: 😢
What about the heavy version of the nantex, that launches volleys of homing missiles capable of disintegrating other starfighters in seconds, and rip even acclamators apart horribly without their escorts?
Stormtrooper: We can't aim
Everyone else: We aim just fine
For Star Wars, if you become a "bad guy," your abilities drop significantly.
There was also an upgraded vairent from galactic battlegrounds it did have a hyperdrive too
seperatist probe droid video would be amazing😇
Lower channels are the only thing keeping me busy on TH-cam 👍... Thanks for some content to consume
Bugs with aimbot, scary stuff.

If the Geonosians required no sleep, why we saw some of them sleeping in the catacombs under the droids' factory in the Clones Wars?
The pilot class doesn't sleep.
Those were probably warrior class
I'd guess they were in a form of Torpor or Stasis not true sleep able to be instantly activated and in their ships in seconds
This thing was so fun in bf1 and bf2
Indeed, those bugs can aim
Flightcomputer link .....
Protocol 1 establish link to pilot
Protocol 2 Uphold the mission
Protocol 3 PROTECT THE PILOT ;-;7
Nan Tex Class exists

Cut away looks like a xenomorph pilot..
Can you do a video about the j-10 dual blaster cannon, the rare weapon that the separatist uses.
very awesome
It's a shame most geonosians were wiped out by the empire.
Good 😈
It's not. They are pests.
Even rex said they don't deserve extinction.
its specs on paper rival the A-wing!

This is Canon for me!
Those bugs can aim.
anyone got sources on their deep space performance in megalights?
Was guess OPed in some respects despite lacks of wings for most part an only kinda got a weapon if was agile and shielded/armoured enough
Didn't Bevel Lemelisk have a hand in these things' creation?
good thing those bugs can't aim
because that aim assist would be pointless
hehe funny bug ship
The Senate is the MOST unique.
12 adverts?? Why
