Can I ask what the rifugio at 2:45 is called? Also I want to really recommend valle d'aosta. Beautiful rifugios and amazing sights. Mostly single day trips though. If you want the longer hikes I can really recommend doing a tour from Glassier to Rifugio Chiarella Amiante and then cross to swiss via the mountains. Love your videos and good luck :)
Also wanna add that you went a pretty touristy route. If you go to the higher rifugios at 3-4000M you won't see as many people and you can get that more 'rustic' feel you were searching for. If you think about it, you're a bit of an outlier for the travelling company. They wanna attract the most people, so I don't think they are used to those really hard trails you were looking for.

Kraig, I made this hike myself two weeks ago. It was. absolutely phantastic. I had a blast! I used your guide to make reservations of the refuges along the trail and your map to hike. I made slight modifications, though, due to my travel from Poland to the trail head. I started hiking late (around 5 PM) in La Villa, north of Corvara, and stayed at Rifugio Gardenacia. On the second day I stayed at Rifugio Frara and then detoured at Rifugio Pisciadu a bit, which I then strongly regreted. I accidentaly lost the trail because it was hardly visible. When I reached closer to the end I ran into a horrible via ferrata. Never ever in my life was I so scared. It was very dangerous. With my heavy bagback and strong wind it was very hard to pull myself up. My legs were shaking but I made it. I strongly recommend everyone to follow your map and not to detour as there is no information on the trail marks. On my 4th day I stayed at Rifugio Marmolada. It wasn't any better than Rifugio Fedaia where you stayed at. They didn't speak English very well and the customer service wasn't as great. The entire area around Marmolada glacier is not interesting in general. All the rest was awesome! The views and the food - man! Very good! I had a lot of adventures and had really good time during my 7 days hike. I want to thank you for what you do, without you my hike would be impossible. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

Loved this so much :) One thing however is that lots of people have accessibility issues or lack the good health to be able to hike up the mountains, and I don't think people being able to go up the mountain via cable car takes anything away from your own effort hiking up - other people's experience shouldn't influence your own and I think it's wonderful that everyone's able to access these gorgeous spots. I too prefer to hike it up (also, terrified of cablecars lol) but I'm happy people like my grandma can use the cable car. Keep up the good work!!!
it is interesting that the person who ordered the complete planning of the trip from the tourist agency complains that the cable cars make access to the peaks too much easier ;)
well said!! I was quite annoyed with that comment. What's it to anybody how you hike (or don't hike) if you're not bothering anybody? The Dolomites were my backyard for 4 years and guess what? there are TONS of places with amazing views that don't have cable cars. Dedicating time to do a little research you could've found places like Lago Coldai or Col di Prá that have amazing views and no cable cars but I'm sure it was much easier paying an agency to plan it for you.... Hey Kraig I'm from Italy and I've been in those places for 5yrs and still counting. Please note that Corvara and Canazei are one of the most frequented places during summer. That's why I may suggest you not to pay tour guides over there as towns and refugees are really well equipped and served. On day 3 you've been to Piz Boé (mountain crossing borders between 3 territories: Sudtirol, Trento and Belluno provinces) and yeah, as its one of the best places within Dolomiti, it's getting too much touristic because of cable cars. However, cable cars are there just because there were ruins of world wars, so they decided to build them to reach historic points. Trust me if I say that if you go to places not that touristic (Piz Boè is one of the most) you'll find much less cable cars and more isolation. Keep it up with your great work!
@@strawberrynoodles5470 it depends on which kind of hike are you looking for. Amazing video, i've spent part of my life in the Dolomites so i know very well the area where you've been. Watched all of it, it remembered me the really good time i've had. Regards from Israel (not exactly a place with nice mountains).
An epic, epic, epic video of an epic place. Most professionally created - this video is better than most Hollywood productions in my opinion. Thank you, Kraig, for showing all of us the Dolomites, something we can't do on our own.

Breathtaking isn't even enough of a word to describe that intro. I've never seen any of your videos before, but my jaw was on the floor during that entire drone sequence. It was unrivaled tranquility and brilliance.

We get such a great sense of what these beautiful places actually feel like with your videos Kraig! Your shots are so well composed, and highlight detail from vista to a flower, from a lonely path to hailstones, from expanse of mountains hard to take in to a dog accepting some pats! Thank you for breathing life and space into these videos, they are poetry!

Wow! so much content to this video! Thank you so much, Kraig! The views, the music, and especially your sharing with us viewers so much useful and practical information/advice. I loved IT! I now live in Italy. Got to go to the Dolomites! BEAUTIFUL. Thank you. :)
Loved this video. I don't mind the length. The drone shots were amazing, such beauty. To see how small humans are against the backdrop of awesome geology and nature. Thanks for taking us along and the guide section was great! I'm planning to go to the Dolomites with the same booking guide company you used, but being 66 and hiking with others my age or older, we'll stick to the towns and trails.
I did the section of the Alta Via 2 a few years ago between Ortisei and Falcade so it's nice to see some familiar sights. It was incredible, can't wait to go back. The Via Ferrata Delle Trincee was definitely a highlight for me
1st video of yours watching. Thanks for joinging us in your journey. I'm so grateful for the review of the complete journey, as it is the most important part of the video, in my opinion. Keep climbing and, keep informing the community. Cheers.
Beautiful video! I come from the dolomites, but even I don't know all the mountains and routes, there's too many! I use the Internet, it takes time to do the research, but you can find all the info you need to plan on your own. In the dolomites all the trails are very well signalled and it's quite easy to get around. Happy hiking to you all.
I am blown away by your video👍🥰❤ Thank you for taking me with you in your journey. Enjoyed every minute of it, so manificent & breath taking. God bless & keep you safe.
Hi Craig! I have to say, you nailed that intro! The cinematic masterpiece of that drone footage combined with the untamed beauty of the Dolomites is breathtaking! This utterly beautifull and magestic landscape deserves the hommage that you created! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your effort and dedication! I salute you from Romania!!( Btw, you should come here in the Carpathians and explore them a bit! It is quite nice also!)
Yeah the alps' glaciers are really small nowadays compared to some of the glacier in say the rockies or the andes etc... Tbf the dolomites are all the way at the southern edge of the alps so during summer the weather is really more Mediterranean compared to the central and Northern alps
Not sure which glaciers you are talking about, but you probably ment the snowfields. They are just leftover snow, compressed but to small to be ore become a glacier.
There is something special about this film. My favourite of all your hikes and one I come back to again and again. Definitely inspired me to take a trip to the Dolomites myself with the drone and shoot. Thanks Kraig.
I've been dreaming of hiking this range for years now. Covid put a stop to it for me. I love the fact that the narrative is visual. Without a voice it's easier to put myself there. Would you be so kind as to let me know what this experience cost you, excluding flights. Much appreciated.
These videos inspired me to go back to wilds. I remember my first 3-week hike when I was 14. The beautiful of nature makes me stronger and happier. Thank you!
my dog usually has no interest in youtube or tv but she literally sat with me throughout this video and watched intently. you certainly have a way with things Kraig!
My only recommendation would be to book way in advance usually as mountain huts in Italy get filled quite fast in the summer. As they are known for some of the best food and quite decent accomodations. And calling to book, managing to reach someone, and exchange a message in broken Italian can be difficult. That's the only advantage of a tour guide who has to deal with all of it themselves and guarantee you a spot somewhere.

Italy winning once again with a Kraig video,
Love from Italyy 🇮🇹❤💖
This is outstanding. I’m still reeling from my first experience watching your 100 mile hike in Alaska. I’m going through a rough time right now and your videos and soundtrack choices bring me great solace and comfort. Thanks for being here Kraig.
This is probably close to 100 miles after he walks it twice to set up the camera then go back to get it lol
Man this deserve millions of views. The first 6mins feels so surreal and heavenly ✨✨✨ and the whole video hits really different. Out of all your videos Kraig this is one of your best ❤️
I’ve seen every single one of your videos, and this one takes the cake for me. The amount of calm I experienced in the first 6 minutes is unlike anything else.
One of my favorite things to do after a long stressful week is 🚬🥬 and watch these and just let my mind wander. Honestly its peace on earth. Thank you for taking us to these amazing places.
Hell yeah I also love taking a fat broccoli smoke every once in a while
@@equation1321 what is broccoli smoke? Bro
@@shahinaparvin7721 smoking broccoli is a euphemism for something else haha
Yes, these are truly inspring mountains. I am in lockdown in Australia. I wonder if I will ever see such marvels in reality. Great video.
Totally into your video style - so relaxing and captivating with the soft music, and your detailed information on everything afterwards. When you started about the travel agency, that hit the spot, would be exactly the same for us! Best wishes from Germany
Words never seem to clarify how astonishing your videos are. I appreciate them most in deep fall/winter due to the increased inspiration for the next season. The way you incorporate mother nature, with culture, and make us all feel like we too just did this journey is fantastic. This is as per usual, a true masterpiece. Cheers Kraig.
Every time I watch a video of yours, I unknowingly take a long deep breathe that releases all the tension from my mind and body. Thank you, Thank you Kraig Adams.
nobody talking about the respectful man in 33:52? Nearly the highlight of this video! :D , btw THANK YOU KRAIG!!
He's like, OOPS. Haha nice
Absolutely beautiful. Walking is one of my favourite things to do and the only way I’ve found to truly meditate. It keeps me present and aligned with my authentic self.
Thank you for recording and sharing these stunning moments.
The most beautiful mountains!. Absolutely fantastic!
Breathtaking isn't even enough of a word to describe that intro. I've never seen any of your videos before, but my jaw was on the floor during that entire drone sequence. It was unrivaled tranquility and brilliance.
Last year i walked the “dream path” Munich to Venice and i remember some parts where you walked. Sleped in the little mountain hut where you paded the black dog. Amazing area. I’m definitely going back there. Great mountains and good food. Keep up the good work. Keep on walking. ULTREIA !!
This song is relaxing thank you for being such a great person to help us if what people are going through
What some people might not understand is how this guys just mounts a camera goes back and forth to get all these amazing shots. Great video showing showing hard work and quality
This may very well be the best hiking video I’ve ever watched. Truly inspiring. The pace, the edit, sound. Every cut. Very good man. Keep it up.
This channel is one of the best things I've found on youtube
We get such a great sense of what these beautiful places actually feel like with your videos Kraig! Your shots are so well composed, and highlight detail from vista to a flower, from a lonely path to hailstones, from expanse of mountains hard to take in to a dog accepting some pats! Thank you for breathing life and space into these videos, they are poetry!
It's absolutely wonderful work. I think he set the standard for beautiful hiking videos.
Kraig, that's a whole film! Gonna watch it on my TV tonight! 😂 Dolomites will always be in my heart, hope you enjoyed them as well 😉🏞️

This video is peaceful, informative, and funny all at the same time! I enjoyed it much and will definitely help me in my solo dolomite trip next week!!
Thank you so much for the help and for hyping me to do this!
Non-stop goosebumps for the first 5 minutes of the video. Never seen such beautiful footage of the Dolomites. Truly one of the most incredible places on Earth. Thanks for sharing this amazing place !

Thank you for the support very much
I’m liking the poles. I’m a PT and they reduce vertical forces at the knee by 15%.
actually its 14.2%***
My new favourite channel for hikes/trails and just plain old relaxing too.
Thank you for doing such a fantastic job. X
Every time I see you upload a new video, I think to myself, "how is he going to one-up the quality of the last one?" And yet, every video seems to beat the last in terms of cinematography. Absolutely stunning work.
WIL DASOVICH brought me here , I'm so amazed of your passion in hiking , you literally introduce the real beauty of our mother nature . I feel in love with the perfect curves of the mountain and her high ranges , full of life , the sounds of the birds and fresh flowing water in the river . So brilliant and gorgeous .. From now on I'm your new subscriber here , full of love from the Philippines .,.. Good job nice video ...
This was such a beautiful video! I am sorry you had a bad experience with the agency but glad you had a good time in my backyard! :)
Wow! so much content to this video!
Thanks for the content you post regularly, it has helped a lot with my depression!
I did the section of the Alta Via 2 a few years ago between Ortisei and Falcade so it's nice to see some familiar sights. It was incredible, can't wait to go back. The Via Ferrata Delle Trincee was definitely a highlight for me
you are truly one of the greatest photographer.
thank you for taking us to the most beautiful, magnificent places as you do always.
This is so long! So much content! I can't wait until I can watch this in peace :))
I’m hiding in the bathroom so I can’t get disturbed lol
1st video of yours watching. Thanks for joinging us in your journey. I'm so grateful for the review of the complete journey, as it is the most important part of the video, in my opinion. Keep climbing and, keep informing the community. Cheers.
Aaaannnddd now I feel calm and peaceful 💗
This is far beyond of any nature hiking I’ve been experienced!!! WELL DONE MAN !!!
Your videos are my new favourite thing to watch on youtube in my free time
Dude, you’re work is an absolute inspiration. Thanks for what you do!
I appreciate the work you go through to put all this up on the internet for us.
It's amazing how little snow is left on those mountain glaciers, similar to what you see in the western U.S. Great video, once again!! Regards
This was a masterpiece! Love the in-depth breakdown at the end too
After all my hikes, I always feel like my videos and photos never do it justice. Yours IMPROVE and add so much beauty to the experience.
Thank you!
The sceneries are absolutely breathtaking!! Wonderful hike and adventure Kraig 👍
The world gets much more enjoyable with the contributions such as from Mr. Kraig Adams.
My favorite part: when you say “AHA!” 😂 …also the scenery is pretty neat 😃
definitely an Alan Partridge reference
my dog usually has no interest in youtube or tv but she literally sat with me throughout this video and watched intently. you certainly have a way with things Kraig!
Do you recommend any cheap tour guides?
Thanks!
