Excellent tip!! I learned about candle wax for lubricating drawers and for separating stuck nuts and bolts by heating rubbing on wax.

G'day Rob... any idea how to replace the sliding handle on an aluminium window? The pin that holds the handle in place has come loose and the handle just sits at the bottom of the vertical track.

My window was painted shut but we are on a high floor. Can’t get to the outside
can I try this from the inside? I have an upper double hung window stuck on my second floor.... no easy way to go outside and break up any paint..... I'll try it....I hope I don't break the glass!
I live on the 3rd floor of a 100+ yo home. Will I be able to open it like this from the inside?

ThunderLips Timbah is the piece of wood he used as brace to knock the mallet against so not break the window. Just to loosen the sash. I'm American and love accents. I love the take home chef Curtis Stone He's hot. Rob you Are So Hot! I'm Myron's girlfriend.
He's saying Timber with his accent, it means timber wood.

mine is a second floor window I can't get to the outside.
The paper trick to keep the utility knife paint off is a good trick but I just place masking tape on sides of the utility knife

Not really painted shut.. Obviously buckled by heat and storms here. It's stuck solid and won't open. I don't know how, a painter will deal with it.
