I wonder how long it would take for Project Purity to clean the world's oceans and whether it would have been better to build it inland on a river so it could feed radiation free water into the aquifer and cleanse rivers and lakes downstream, I think that would have all sorts of positive knock on effects for the plants, animals, and people along the route to the ocean.
That's actually a very good idea. I love the idea of a major quest in another game which seeks to expand Project Purity to somewhere inland so it could feed radiation free water to lakes and streams
I would have added Fawkes to the list. He was imprisoned for god knows how long. Instead of letting his time go to waste he spent endless hours studying history and literature turning himself into one of the most well versed inhabitants of the post apocalyptic world. 😃

I always agreed with Dr Li. My idea would be to take over the institute, eliminate the brotherhood leadership and create a large version of diamond city with synths, courses and humans in power armor as guards and wasteland pest control. Rebuilding a safe radiation free society with institute technology would be easy from there.
I think using the coursers as guards is a very risky idea. I feel like if you liberalised the institute, the SRB would start a civil war, and since they control all the coursers....

I’m glad you mentioned piper because I do believe that what she did was right, investigating the death of her father and saving the lives of her mother, sister and friends and neighbors. Also she a fun companion and my favorite to bring with throughout your adventure in the main story line

You'd think ghouls would rise to the top, all that age and wisdom, that one from point lookout was very capable but I'd expect more leaders like Hancock & more scientists with the lifespan they have.
Iirc a lot of Ghouls don't stick around long enough to become the head of their field. In New Vegas for instance, the two ghoul ladies in jacobstown and the mormon fort talk about having loads of jobs over the years. Raul and the ghoul holed up in repconn are also the drifter type. It makes sense to me, with all that time and with how volatile the wasteland can be to ghouls, you'd try out different things and have to keep moving.
I mean...possibly? But it feels like humanity hasn't recovered cus even 200 years later, dealing with the impact of nuclear annihilation is an extremely difficult feat. Caesar's Legion falls apart in any ending where Caesar isn't the leader. The NCR is at capacity and can't expand any further, and is also showing signs of internal pressures creating a potential collapse. And we don't actually know that much about what extent of Texas and Mexico has cohesive government. Ad for Aroyo... we don't know much except that it still exists, and is apparently still separate from the NCR despite their overwhelming greed for expansion. Which the point could be made that New Aroyo being separate but also clearly disregarded by the NCR is a sign that the NCR isn't equipped for proper diplomacy yet. All of those are societies that only exist because of either individual strength, or are struggling to maintain what cohesion they have. As for Vault City, they're literally *not* being subject to radiation. GECK units take the surrounding radiation in and use it in order to fuel the reaction to purify and revive the area around the unit. And Vault City had extra units. So including Vault city in that makes it questionable if _you_ played any of the earlier games. Part of the instability is just for the sake of the games needing conflict and can thus be chalked up to game mechanics. But saying that society isn't massively struggling to reform even in regions with steady supply chains is silly.

Both Harold and the Master were born Pre-Great War. Harold is cited as being born in 2072, and Richard Grey, the primary personality of the Master, was within Vault 8 both when the bombs dropped and was young enough he was functional when the Vault opened.

I do like the inclusion of Piper as representation of knowledge beyond technology. It makes me wonder about some other highlights of social intelligence in the series. Although I suppose a lot of them coming to mind are using such intelligence generally for evil, so perhaps it's not quite the same as how you present it here. Porter Gage is instrumental in building a society, it's just full of raiders. Vulpes and the frumentarii are so good at going undercover they can wreck the monorail without intervention. Then the others feel like they're either too questionable in origin (Deacon) or very ineffective, despite their knowledge (Rex Harrison comes to mind). Cool list and focus.

Maybe not genious like elijah but ulysses re-start a gigantic nuclear silo by himself, and loyal figured out just with scrapp pieces a magazine about the b 29 and a crashed b 29 on a lake how to fix it all by himself.
Some other people i would say deserve this list are Caesar, altough he is bad, he does have a lot of military genius. Also, tandi, her political genius had her form the NCR.
