    instead of making weird modern houses outside of auckland that no one wants, focus on making houses in auckland that arent hideous. cheap doesnt have to mean ugly. christ

      alot of these are so over the top and fugly, keep it simple imo

      That type of thinking is what leads to hideous houses. Houses like these are over the top for some but certian aspects can be "watered down" for the average consumer and utilized in a cost effective manor. The same was said of Frank Lloyd Wright's work and yet we now reveer his creations and their effects touch even the most humble of modern structures.

      Thankyou. I am in the USA and the architecture is phenomenal. All I have known in NZ, having grown up in a building industry family, is negativity toward traditional style, cutting costs and modernism. Wellington is a rare exception where there are beautiful buildings but the eclectic array of styles in Wellington are not appreciated and the style of the architectural school there is preferred by connoisseurs.
