Excited to hear your comments on this interview. We are ALL artists, but we have to see sync licensing as THE way we get our music out there!

i love your channel so much. also, her comment shook me! "don't be precious, don't worry about quality as much!"

Yeah, we can all be very "precious" with our songs. Just get them done and get them out there!

Finally decided to go the taxi route and songwrite full time. Had two songs forwarded off my initial submissions and one actually signed into a library within a week of submitting. I know it’s not always going to be like that and I am extremely nervous about it all but these videos have been very helpful to getting a grasp on what to expect thank you!

Very nice interview. I was already shifting my attention towards licensing, but now I'll go at it even harder ^^

Yes I think she makes it pretty clear why we need to focus in this direction. I love the part where she said if you have a song that is licensed and it’s on a TV show, that’s your single. Thank you so much for watching.

@@MakeMusicIncome Haha yes, well said. Thanks for sharing. I also like the part about being too precious about a song. I'm working under another label now for stock music, which, in my mind, is the "whatever, anything goes"-label and I'm pumping out new work much faster. Under this "Eburone"-label, I suffer from "perfectionism" for some reason, spending ridiculous amounts of time on each track. Like she said, being too precious about it.

@@eburone I hear you. But my thought process is that there is no throwaway music, everything needs to be great. While sometimes I do think of stock music libraries as B or C level placements, I don’t put anything in there that I think of as B or C level music. I hope that makes sense.

@@MakeMusicIncome Yes absolutely :) I'm not saying what I put in there is garbage, it's just work I produced while not having put so much pressure on myself. It's also fun that not every track needs to be a finished symphony. Even a 15 second piece can be worth something to someone. And that way you don't need to think so far ahead when making tracks, about what the structure should look like etcetera. I find it all very liberating!

Certainly agree with that! Pressure is definitely lower with stock!
