  • In this video we unbox the completely new Haiboxing / HBX 18859 1/18 scale 4WD Racing Truck. The box states that it's hobby grade and not a toy, and for ages 14+. We have a good look over the truck and explore all of it's features, is it hobby grade? It certainly has a great specification, and as a bonus, this new version comes with 2 x 850mAh LiPo batteries and fitted LED headlights.
    We also check out some of the available upgrades. This could make an ideal first RC car!
    This Ready To Run (RTR) RC Truck is available at a very reasonable price, worldwide - just search for "Haiboxing 18859" on the internet and you will be sure to come up with many sellers offering this RC Truck, just make sure it's the latest version with the 2 Lipo batteries!

      Thanks Tibster! Yeah, I think HBX sent out a load of these trucks for review, just before Xmas - I think I got their plan worked out! But hey, I'm happy to get a couple of free trucks to play with, and TBH they really are very good! Thanks very much for the comment, all the best, dude - stay safe! 👍

    These little rc’s are a fun, toss in the car rc to run when bonus rc time hits!
    Definitely a good rc for beginners who don’t want to spend a lot on their first rc!

    Great little truck, i still have my Losi Mini-LST (mlst) with cf chassis, Castle Creations brushless motor/ sidewinder esc, (motor is a 8,200kv unit) and a buch of Integy parts, Hot Racing & Losi option parts. its a work in progress, counting on 6 years now.

    Lovely video Mark 👍 Interesting that the wheels are "screwed" on! Plenty of decent technology and features on such a small introduction to the hobby! I also like the ball joints on the shocks......instead of the step screws that Tamiya often uses. I love it! 😊

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Simon - so nice of you to watch and comment, mate! Yeah, a lot of these little RC's have the wheels held on by screws, seems odd, doesn't it? Anyway, yes, for 50 quid this little basher is very well specified, I can tell you it's a blast to run and very tough. Thanks again, and all the best to you - take care, mate! :O)

    Ooh aren't you a lucky boy getting this stuff to review. Looks very similar to the other one. Really good that you can upgrade the shocks and drive shafts etc. It's a much more affordable hobby than when we were lads. I bet this will be a laugh on the right terrain. I'm interested to know how long it lasts with the tiny battery. At least you get 2 of them. Anyway, great unboxing mate. I saw your other note about your enforced time off work and have replied. Hope you are ok and staying well. Enjoy the extra hobby time 😁

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers, Pete! Yes, very similar, but a bit smaller and cheaper than the other HBX. Also, at under £50 all in, it's a great price for a starter RC. I have run it, and it is, like you say, a great laugh in a small area. The batteries last quite well, about 15 minutes in deep grass and wet sand, so not bad at all, plus the bigger batteries from the 16889 fit this truck! Thanks for the kind words, I got your other message - oh well, at least I got my hobby to get stuck into! I'm doing OK mate - all the best and a massive CHEERS! :O)

    Hi Mark! Looks great! Good overview. Uhh, and yeah, it got a semi-official name: Rampage (version 2). Even Haiboxing use that name. The last ones was named Rampage and Hailstorm. I think they drop the names occasionally because it makes it easier for other companies to rebrand it with their own name.

    Well Mark, your certainly not going to be short of running videos to shoot with this 2nd Haiboxing mini truck. So impressive for the low price point being fully ball-raced, 4WD and with what looks like ( but might not be ) a Dean's plug - way better than Tamiya. Those tabs on the body clips too are a great feature, all Axials come with those and stop you stabbing your fingers with the pointy end. It's amazing too that they sent you all those spare shells and upgraded parts. I assume you'll add those at some point. Great review and look forward to seeing this and the previous one in action. Let's see how you go about avoiding your GoPro with that pistol grip tranny...😉. I know your not a fan....

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya, mate! Too true - I got a couple of run vids to edit from these Haiboxing trucks - luckily they are in the can, because I'm now isolating after a confirmed case of Covid-19 at work! So no more outside for me for another 2 weeks! Luckily for me, I have the Carisma build to get on with, and a brand new Tamiya to unbox! All I will say is that it's a buggy, and some awesome friend in Europe sent me a big box of NIP alloy parts for it - it's going to be insane!
      Back to this little truck - yeah, amazing spec for £50 - and those are real Dean's plugs! The upgrades were a massive bonus, I couldn't believe it when I opened the package. I plan to add them soon and do a new run video, you know how much better alloy oil shocks feel!
      Hehe - I am crap with a pistol grip (I think you would do well, after watching your gun videos), so the GoPro may end up in A & E yet again!
      Thanks for taking the time to write these awesome comments, I really appreciate them, especially today being locked-in, a real treat, my good friend! Cheers! :O)
