This is how much of an impact coach Faust had. I grew up in North Jersey and we kept hearing about Moeller. So they played Farrell from Staten Island and smoked them. One of our local coaches who was originally from Pennsylvania said “they wouldn’t do that in PA” So about two years later in 79 they were playing Pittsburgh Penn Hills a team that included Bill Fralic and we all took ride to Pitt to watch the game. Well Moeller smoked them too. Had a chance later to go to a football camp with coach Faust and myself and others followed him around like a favorite uncle and the other coaches teased him about it. He didn’t mind at all and talked to us about staying on the straight and narrow as well as so many things beyond football. I can tell you he was a great man!

RIP good man. Moeller was a beast when I was in HS In Ohio in early 80s
Absolutely, he turned Moeller into one of the greatest high school programs ever. Great guy too.
If there is a heaven , this man is in it. RIP
One of the greatest high school football coaches of all time, and an above all great, Christ fearing man. God bless his family, respect 💯.
I was blessed enough to meet this great man at an ND game! A wonderful gentleman and truly an ND man!
There is a heaven my friend!
RIP Gerry.
I grew up in Toledo and saw Moeller play up in the Glass Bowl ond game. It was like watching a college team.
The best man whoever coached ND.
The best man, but quite possibly the worst coach at Notre Dame.
@@georgesouthwick7000Hardly the worst.
If you’re a former Ohio High School football player, you get how hard this hits!
Proud of ya' Branson!
Wish he could have had success at ND. Doesn't matter now as he is with God.
Was at the OB in 85 when the hurricanes slaughtered ND and Faust. It should not have been that bad but thats what Miami did to teams in those days.
