I was pretty skeptical about this 'magic rub' idea...but it worked! At least for now. Just rub your finger with a bit of pressure around the perimeter of the screen a couple of times. Screen went dark for a few moments; then came back fully functional. Thank you.
I just tried it and my screen does work BETTER now, but it's not completely fixed. I'm going to keep trying this over the next few days and see what happens. Thanks for the idea. Fingers crossed.
Dude, I owe you my fucking life. It's fucking crazy. I've had the screen like this for months. And I was already thinking about replacing it. And I started doing what you did in the video and it worked.
I thought the idea was too easy to really work but it did! After watching several videos I understand better what the weakness of the product is and how a dealership could do a job on your wallet for a fix. Keep showing us how to circumvent the expensive "fixes." You now have a fan!
@@TheSponky it's the part of the screen we touch to select things on the display. I changed mine today, was super easy once I got the dashboard apart! The touchscreen doesn't sit flush to the plastic and I think that contributes to the issue of it wearing out/corroding because it's easier for cleaning solutions and such to reach the electric and metal components.

My screen wasn’t calibrated for over a year I considered putting my suction cup phone holder on it and it worked instantly.

Thanks!! It works!!! What if I wanna fix the problem for good, do I have to replace the screen, is it expensive??
It worked 😅 thank goodness I tried cleaning and cleaning
The digitizer is like $30 to replace too, sometimes the connection wears out (like mine).
