    I found a good source for Deft spray sanding sealer from a hardware store online. Prices are way better than the $14 bucks a can shipped from Amazon. I'll post a link once I get on my PC.

      Dave Rhoten Here is that link. Shipping for you might be cheap as well since they are in your neck of the woods.

      You might also want to look into thinning the brand you currently use to save money. I am going to try it with the minwax after i get done with this cabot quart.

    Loved this! Just what I have been asking around about. I definitely see what you are saying about cupping of a board and how a thickness planer will affect it. I do have a question. What is the model number of the Skil sander that you use?

    Another fantastic video. I noticed that most decent belt sanders are made of metal and weigh around 12lbs. Are these too heavy in the first place to use?

      No I don't think so. However now I am using a disk sander, I like it allot better.

    Eric, if there is a "Woodcraft" woodworking store near you, they still carry the Deft clear.

    In video #30 you told us earlier to go 40 to take most of the ink off and120 to finish. Originally you said 80 and 120. So you don't use the 120 grit any more?

    • @oldave100
      @oldave100  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      berighteous No I just go down to 80 grit. That works well for me. Like I mentioned on the video, many of our students go down to 120.

    Dave you have inspired me to get my belt sander back out. Most of the time I do inset letters and designs then run it through my planer then just finish sand with a high fine grit using a random orbital sander. I didn't stick with it but found the belt sander was way too easy to wear down spots and ruin my work. I know the key is just keeping it moving with very little down pressure. Anyway Thanks!!
