  • I had such an amazing time at Land Rover Owner's Day Biltmore, and it's by far some of the most fun I've had with my 2011 L322 Range Rover. It was an incredible day filled with amazing people who all love their Land Rovers. Looking back, I wish I would have had the chance to get better off-road footage of the rest of the Land Rovers off-road at Owner's Day Biltmore 2019, but I also loved getting to express the excitement and love that was spread throughout this Land Rover-filled day!

    More About This Video
    Land Rover Experience Owner's Day was one of the most incredible experiences I've had with my L322 Range Rover! Land Rover Owner's Day is by far the best perk of owning such an incredible Land Rover, and I loved getting to share my experiences with other people at Owner's Day. Getting the opportunity to meet, talk, and off-road with other Land Rover Owner's from all over the US was a truly eye-opening experience, and I'm beyond grateful that I get to share these experiences with everyone here.
    I had always been skeptical if Owner's Day would be worth the cost - originally thinking it would be too easy and too slow. That couldn't be further from the truth. While it was slow-paced, the entire Land Rover Experience was relaxing, fun, and extremely enjoyable. If you have a Land Rover, do yourself a favor and head out to the next Land Rover Owner's Day. I never expected to enjoy the experience as much as I did.
    The day started the way every day starts with a Range Rover - petrol. From there, Nic and I headed up to the gates at Biltmore to meet up with the other Land Rover Owner's doing the Biltmore Experience. We all got to know each other and shared stories (both good and bad) about our obsessions with Land Rover and then convoyed off to breakfast where they talked about an array of different terms we'd be using for the day.
    From there, we split up into three groups of 10 and hit the trails. For the beginning of the off-roading, we had an instructor in the L322 with us where we got to hear all of the amazing stories about what it was like working at Land Rover Experience Biltmore. The instructor in our car had actually lived on the estate while growing up and owned an LR3.
    The rest of the day continued with Land Rover Discoverys, Defenders, Range Rovers, Range Rover Sports, Evoques, Discovery Sports roaming through the grounds of Biltmore Estate's off-road trails. And of course, it wouldn't be complete without a couple of faults with Terrain Response and Air Suspension and getting stuck in the mud!
    Huge thanks to everyone involved with this day! The people we met (owners and instructors) were some of the most amazing, kind-hearted people we've had the chance to meet. It was a day I will never forget, and I'm so thankful everything came together at once!

    Few quick things before you watch:
    1) Thank you to everyone involved in this process! From the other Land Rover Owners at Owner’s Day to the incredible instructors to everyone viewing this video, thank you! I’m beyond grateful to be able to share my love and passion for Land Rover with other people, and it was an incredible day getting to gawk at other Land Rovers/Range Rovers off-road. Thank you to everyone for making videos like this possible! I hope to be able to share more experiences on the Automotive channel in the coming months. I have huge plans for the next few experiences, and I can’t wait to see how this plays out! 💙
    2) There isn’t too much off-road only footage in this video, which was intentional. I wanted this video to display the FULL experience, which was more than just being off-road. The entire day was much more than just driving through woods, and I wanted to convey that in this video. Don’t worry, though. I have an off-road highlights video of Land Rover Owner’s Day coming next since I know a lot of people want that. For this video, I wanted to share what the experience of Owner’s Day is actually like because I had never seen someone share it in this way.
    3) Parts of the video are slow - it was part of the experience. It wasn’t a fast-paced day, and I didn’t want it to come off that way in the video for anyone looking to do Owner’s Day in their Land Rover. I’ve never found a full video about what Owner’s Day is like, and that is what I wanted to show in this. It helps to watch on 2x speed if you’re getting tired of the slow parts.
    4) The off-road trails were not difficult, but from talking with the instructors, they weren’t designed to be. It had been VERY rainy for a couple of weeks, and the trails were wet and muddy, which made things slightly more difficult and fun. The day wasn’t about pushing them to their limits. It was all about enjoying the day with The Best 4x4xFar. I’ll be taking the Range Rover on more difficult terrain soon!
    5) Thank you again! I’m so grateful that I have these opportunities because of the people watching, engaging in the comments/likes, and emails. The connections I’ve made with people from this channel alone have made every bit of the last year the best of my life. Thank you to EVERYONE who has commented, emailed, liked, disliked, and watched. Without you, I never would have been able to share this experience with people!

    Thanks for sharing this experience. I used to do off roading in my LR3 with friends few years ago in Dubai, LR3 was by far the best among all. Now I'm living in USA Iowa and I'm so excited that I will get my Rang Rover 2011 next week. Your videos helped to make my purchase decision so thank you very much. I love Land Rover.

    I was quite perplexed about the "instructors" standing in front of the cars that were navigating the tracks. When you're in mud, you need two things to not get stuck. The first thing is momentum, so you don't sink down. The other is to keep the wheels spinning fast enough to clean their threads of mud, so they have some bite left when they make contact with mother earth again. To have people standing just meters in front of the car is then right out dangerous. And the L322 can take it. 10-15 km/h is really fine in mud or snow. The one time I got stuck in mine, was just because I was hesitating. (There is dashcam footage here on TH-cam from that very incident) If you want to crawl in mud, you need chains.

    I really wish you have posted that you were going, I would have for sure brought out my L494. I've done owners day in my L320 and it was awesome. I want to do a full heritage day program at some point this year, maybe you could come out and film it.

      I'm actually working on some ways to get more involved with the community here and let people know what's going on, what events we'll be at, and what's coming up! So hopefully that won't be a problem in the future! :)
      I'll definitely be going to the next event they hold and be doing more at the Biltmore location. I'm planning on visiting the others in the future too! I'll keep the community here more updated on what we're doing as well! It would be awesome to get the chance to film the heritage day!

    That looks amazing fun in your own vehicle. As already mentioned I don’t think we can do that in the UK - only in LR Experience’s vehicles.
    However I do go off-roading in my Discovery 1 with my Dad in his Defender 110. Both 300tdi’s
    Awesome video!

      Hmm. That's kinda weird they don't have that in the UK and only use their new models. Sounds like a few of the UK guys need to get together and create something like this! haha.
      I would love to take a Defender off-road. That's goals right there! haha. I think it would be great to get an older model (Disco probably) and do videos with it!

    Do you know why the Range rover handled all that so well? It's because what you've just driven, is basicly a replica of a bog standard English country lane, just you didn't have as many pot holes or loose sheep on the road to deal with. You should come over to the UK and try some of out Landrover experiences.

  • @johnohp
    @johnohp 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    OMG so jealous, i'm not sure we can do this in the UK. Land Rover will do a day but you have to drive their brand new rovers. I need to see if anyone organises the same thing. I know we can do a "pay & play" day which is usually in an old quarry.

    • @BreakdownAutomotive
      @BreakdownAutomotive  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard of the ones they do with the new models, but I really don't know if they do owner's day in the UK. I'd be kinda shocked if they didn't have any. Now I've gotta find one and go to the UK and do it haha.

    • @BreakdownAutomotive
      @BreakdownAutomotive  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a button on the side of this page that says "Keep me Informed" or something along those lines. It's an email sign up and will notify you when the next ones are. www.landroverusa.com/experiences/find-a-centre/north-america.html?abkid=404_&gclid=CjwKCAjwycfkBRAFEiwAnLX5ISCAQNPoFDUAH_OiLRkqp-jE6zVX-QqOj4_5lySqbTznZjMYa4IXDhoCFIsQAvD_BwE&c
      I think you can also call a dealership and have them sign you up for them. At the very least, they can give you info on the closest one to you. :)
