Thank you very much Eric for your advice and your time on roofing. Your videos are direct and to the point, great job. I wish you are in Northern California area.
The problem with this method of roofing is self explanatory not enough cover on the tiles fixing tiles directly on to felt with all the nail holes the valleys should be cut to let debris out not causing a build up as the film shows
What a mess this is how not to tile a roof and definitely how not to fit valleys . Closed valleys are very problematic as you can see and yet they still fit them.
When reinstalling the tile do you install them without nailing them since the nail holes are covered by the remaining tile? If you can’t nail them how are they held in place without sliding out?
I’m trying to fix a leak but a found a different layout on the felt installation. The felt is overt the valley. Advise please
Remove the valley metal and tuck the new felt under then put the valley back on ...fold the edge of the valley 1/2 inch before installing the tiles back
Excellent video! I have a similarly tiled roof like this not far from Chino/Chino Hills. I now know more about how my roof might leak (I've fixed a couple already). I was really glad to hear your suggestion about using two layers of roofing paper--that's what I did, plus I used some Henry's 209 at various strategic locations. I can't wait to see more of your videos.
The problem is not cutting the tile minimum 2 inches on each side so the debris and water can flow easily instead of the debris gets stuck in between and make the water flow straight down. Since the water can’t flow straight down it finds a different way.
Eric , do you know where I can find a S Tile rain diverter , I'm looking for the diverter that will be bendable around the S tileDo you know where i can find it Thanks Eric for any help possible.
Yup! All they had to do was just cut back on the valley. So the water can have better flow and no build-up on dirt or leaves or debri. So idk how long this repair would be good for. Lol!
Ummm... I'm scratching my head right now. But why wasn't the valley cut back at least an 1½" on each side back? The homeowner will have the same problem again🤦🏻♂️ smh!
Had one almost identical to this today.. Only difference was they ran their felt on top of the valley metal and when the water ran sideways it was getting under the paper right on the valley... Surprised it hasn't leaked before.. Roof is 25 years old..
I like to watch your videos with my kids to learn. there for I would like to ask you to keep your comments to other roofers respectfully and without offensive and bulgar words they will be professional videos for millions to watch. Just a suggestion.
+Lazaro Castillo you have to check with your roofer...every roofer has different pricing ...if you do it yourself it will probably take you 1 day plus the materials .
+Lazaro Castillo I know but I can't give you the price ...it's a professional ethic to the other fellow roofers ...but if you hire a company ...be prepare . I have my own pricing ...if you email me personally ...I will answer your question , but please don't ask me here...Lol. Thank you sir . Eric.

And why did you not show us how you renailed the replaced tiles could that be because you never did? Because each tile is nailed near the top of each tile then the tile above covers the nails.
This can only described as the worst method of roofing closed valleys the debris cannot get away therefore building up like a dam also look where the tiles have been sitting directly onto the felt it's rotted away not good practice
Hey amigos you guys are smarter than Trump can you please go into politics and build a bridge from America into Mexico as we don't need any walls. We need intelligent people like you guys.Australia.
I repair my house by my self . Would you please tell where can I buy or get a tile roof just like that one in the video. I couldn’t find it any where I don’t need a lot I just need maybe 10 to 20 just in case I need it. Thank you

Do you mean 2 inches from the center of the valley?
@@onjofilms yes 2" from the middle of the valley. To the right and to the left. The tiles should not be closed up like that. That's big No No!!
Hey bro... where are you located?
Eric , do you know where I can find a S Tile rain diverter , I'm looking for the diverter that will be bendable around the S tileDo you know where i can find it Thanks Eric for any help possible.
Home depot sales 14 inch aluminium and you can bend it
Loving it.👌👍
Why not just leave an open valley...would that work better and debris won't be trapped and with heavy rains it will wash out.
Exactly my point too!
Chino hills How much for that ?
Is that damage just from the leaves and dirt plugging the valley?
Yup! All they had to do was just cut back on the valley. So the water can have better flow and no build-up on dirt or leaves or debri. So idk how long this repair would be good for. Lol!

Hello Eric,
Hi Eric,
Would it be possible to get your email address? I am in need of a good roofer.
Eric, Do you have to remove the old wet paper?
Yes!
Hi the lug on the top of the tile is stopping the flow of the water
Just curious how much a repair like this cost. I think I have the same problem.
My roofer charges $100 a foot.
@@onjofilms Wow, that's insane. I fixed my own didn't cost a thing.
Why did the water run off dude ??
Yeah he didn't show how he repaired it either, plus the camera is spinning you cant tell what side is up, down, left, or right...
Forgot to add, it's good to see videos that show leaks on roofs with flat concrete tiles.
Donde se le dobla? "fold the edges" no vi nada, solamente el papel, y despues el tile.
