If you mean the marble material, I got that from www.poliigon.com/texture/marble-13 Last time I used them they have some free textures. The marble is in the free section.
Yeah... I'm going to change it up a little this year. I'm going to upload only one video a week but make it longer or more refined. I am strapped for time and 2 or more videos get busy.
@@BlenderRookie That sounds like a good plan. I started to get a little burned out and had to take a break, but I'm back at it now. You're up to 8.1k subs. Nice.
Great simulations. Love the destruction ones. Do you think those demolishing building debris can be exported as Alembic to unity rendering? I’ve been spoiled by unity realtime rendering speed and have ditched redshift and octane
Blender Rookie, thanks for quick reply. I guess will have to try it myself. Never tried somulation in blender. I have to get a different build than the standard 2.81 right?
You can make the ball any size and any weight. You can control how much the pieces of the building weighs, how much friction and you can even use constraints which hold pieces together like glue but can break.
3:36 Tried to cell fracture suzanne, but it end up with some big cells popping out, instead of keeping the strict suzanne head... Why is that ? Anyone has an idea ?
Probably because they eyes break the clean mesh. Basically the eyes are not attached to the head and the eye portions either need to be removed or they need to be recreated so that they are cleanly part of the main mesh. I hope that makes sense. There are probably a more apt way to explain. The easiest solution is just to go into edit mode and remove the faces that make up the eyes and then it will fracture correctly.
@@BlenderRookie Hi, thanks for answering. I found that you have to remove what was non manifold, and it worked. In suzanne's case, it was indeed those eyes. Never noticed that the eyes were detached from the head.
I estimate the total build time was 250-300 hours, simulation/bake time was 400-600 hours and total render time was 1500-2000 hours. But that's just a guess as I didn't keep a record.
@@EldonCarter Because it looks like smoke. Why does it look like smoke? Because smoke is a form of volumetrics. Why did I use a volumetric fluid instead of the smoke engine? Because I wanted the smoke to flow like water and not smoke. I had this silly idea that a fluid that flows like a fluid but looks like smoke, might be kinda cool. It's exactly how I meant it to be. The physics is not wrong because it was never meant to be an accurate simulation of smoke.
I made a video about it here. th-cam.com/video/1AmMOY1-nHA/w-d-xo.html But you can download MeshRoom which is was free last time I looked and it works just as good as the payware I used. alicevision.org/#meshroom

That requires a different version of Blender called the "fracture modifier" version. Unfortunately it has not been updated to the 2.8 version and it currently isn't even available to download. I accidentally deleted my back up copy. However, the people who created it assure me they are updating it to the new version. However, their website is still under construction and you can't even download the old version right now. But here's the link where you will be able to find it when it does come available. blenderphysics.com/fracturemodifier/

the physics on your smoke around the 2 minute mark is not right, it resembles the density and behavior of water too much.
