Stephen A is right. This was the Ravens best shot. Bengals & Browns injured. Bills got started too late. Chargers fell apart. Chiefs supposed down year. Ravens had a historically great defense. They were at home. That loss was damning
The 49ers would have beaten the Ravens in a rematch. It's actually good for you people that they didn't play because if Brock Purdy outplayed Lamar in the Super Bowl, it would have confirmed what I've been saying all along about pocket quarterbacks vs. ineffective, one-dimensional scramblers.

But don't act like he didn't make big plays especially with his arm and in the pocket. Did you see that pass TD to Zay Flowers? Did you see that big pass to Flowers again before he got flagged for that taunting penalty which killed the Ravens' momentum offensively? They would have scored a TD had Flowers kept his composure. Also, Flowers fumbling at the 1-yard line was the dagger in the Ravens' hopes of winning that game. Flowers cost them, not Jackson. He put the offense in position to score on a very key drive and his teammate Flowers single-handedly let him and the rest of the team down. Y'all love looking for any tiny little thing to snowball your hatred and ignorance towards Jackson. It's crazy and hilarious beyond words.

@@shamalsanders889 It was definitely a terrible gameplan, but what RC saying is even with that, the 5 times he counted where he DIDN’T take off and run like he’s best at, that’s the running game. That’s where he let his team down trying to prove critics wrong. If he played his typical MVP game I guarantee they win how that defense was playing. He didn’t win the MVP with his passing alone as his passing stats are solid, but not MVP worthy. It’s the lack of the 800 rushing yards along with that which also handcuffed the offense along with bad play calling. So that’s why I say it’s on him more so.

One tried to live up to his massive contract while the other wanted to not become like Greg Roman but in reality Harbaugh was the ultimate villain here. The same problems that existed under Roman still thrive with the OL and Harbaugh needs a aggressive OL coach that can make those decisions without John screwing up the play calling (running the ball, etc)

This is there usual self. Great with the lead and when there isnt a ton of d line pressure. When Lamar has to make quick reads and short throws into tight windows they usually lose. Most playoff games are decided by who's better at quick reads and short passes into tight coverage.

This was Lamar best shot in winning the Super Bowl. Knowing the AFC is going to be tough next season with everyone being healthy, it’s going to be hard for the Ravens to run it back. Ravens will still be contenders but injuries to this team has been a big factor during the season.

He can sling it but it's rarely accurate (30.6% completion percentage on throws over 20 yards) and on short throws especially, he has negative finesse. He was 4-9 this game on passes behind the LoS -- Mahomes was 13-13, for comparison.

Yeah but you still need a somewhat competent offense, which for pretty much the entire season, the offense was about as bad as it can get. I always think back to seeing Matt Ryan looking back to the field as the confetti fell on the patriots victory. I’m not comparing Lamar to him bc Lamar is clearly better but you really never know if you’ll ever reach that moment again. Peyton Manning played good to great the majority of his playoff games, the Colts defense was always bad. Big difference here the ravens have top notch defense every playoff run.
No he did not. Look up his playoff stats. His int to td ratio is much higher, his completion percentage is much lower and he has a much lower qb rating. Not to mention he was God awful in Superbowl 50 and his only Superbowl mvp he was below his usual self as well.

@@tonywong8134 Dude Manning put up crazy numbers during the regular season, he was always #1 or 2 in every category including holding several records. Hard to match that in the playoffs. Also many of his losses were before rule changes for receivers. Colts defense or lack of it is more responsible for the losses than Manning.

Harbs and Monken unable to play to this team's identity was a fatal blow. The players gaining nothing but empty yards was the final twist of the knife.

As a Ravens fan I watched my team crumble. Lamar’s only TD pass to Flowers was a great start. After that things started falling apart I was like uh oh they are gonna show Taylor cheering for Travis. I so very much did not want to have to see that but it happened. When it comes to the big moment Lamar needs more time to mature. It also didn’t help when Flowers thought he was going to dive for 2nd touchdown as Sneed got some payback for previous 15 yard taunting penalty by Flowers. I’m not sure how Lamar will re-emerge from this loss.
I find it crazy how they don't blame the defense as if they weren't absolutely horrible. At 1 point T.O.P. was KC 22 minutes to BAL 8 minutes. Mahomes carved them up and if not for 3 dumb penalties, they would've destroyed Baltimore.
When your defense holds a team to 3 pts over 3 qtrs, then they did their job.
Chiefs fan here. Ravens and Bills are amazing. The issus is #15. It was the same issue many others had when Brady was around. Circle of life in football. Ravens' defense is legit, and Josh Allen and Lamar are awesome. They will always be behind Mahomes. Same as Phil was with Tiger.

Football is actually a really simple game if you want it to be. If Spagz is going to blitz you every single down, then call slants, screens, and mesh. That’s all the Ravens needed to do.
Monken had his worst day play calling and it's unacceptable for Harbaugh to not jump in and course correct.
Lamar doesn't perform well under pressure, lamar did exactly what spagz wanted him to do and lamar got exposed.
Lamar Jackson can't hit quick throws consistently. He was throwing screens into the grass and jump ball into the sideline bench. If Ravens call mesh and slants Lamar is going to boom one into the WR 3 yards in front of him and will act surprised why it's dropped.
Look at the size of all of Baltimore’s receivers…. You want them to call slants? They tried that concept, the receivers all end up injured.
Ravens offensive line wasn't holding up and giving Lamar enough time, the Chiefs defensive line had em under pressure almost the whole game.

Lamar gets better every year just to waste it. You can read his emotions, no matter how good he gets he hasn’t shown me what Flacco and what other guys had where they were always cool never rattled. That Lamar INT proved his biggest flaw. He ignored everything he did well this year and tried to be a hero he pressed.
Not to mention that Flacco didn't get heated or acted spoiled in big moments when things were turning against the Ravens.
He was calm and his leadership is sorely missed in Baltimore. Lamar, Flowers, and other players behavior set the tone for the rest of the game. I could have seen Flacco completing maybe 3 to 6 throws in that game yesterday that Lamar either overthrown or simply into very bad 3 man coverage. After 6 seasons Lamar has a higher INT and turnover rate over Flacco in the playoffs.

Lot of players out performed their contract so they’ll need to hit a few good draft pieces. This was their golden opportunity while Lamar’s cap number was low. But ravens have a good organization so they’ll make smart moves.
You got a defense that's going to get very expensive and a QB who relies on explosive athleticism to be elite. That window is much small than it is for a more traditional pocket passer.
