    You can't reset but you can recalibrate Nespresso machine. Use single shot glass as a measuring tool. Hold Lungo button to start brew and hold it until you get desired amount. When you done release Lungo button. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.

    @renix Thanks for the comment. Nespresso machines do make decent crema. Please keep in mind Nespresso Machines designed to make espresso with minimum effort (no mess, consistent shots end. etc) But nobody said It's professional espresso machine where you can control everything. When you use Single-Serve Espresso machine you do lose control over process but at same time you will receive decent shot of Espresso.

    Love your videos. Keep them coming. I would rather watch the videos than read instructions on the machines. Oh, and that cup of espresso looks so delicious! ;O)

    @KagakuGakusei Yes you need to descale. You can use Nespresso descaling kit (recommended) or vinegar.

    What if the Lungo feature was only used infrequently how does it reset back to automatic double shot?

    I have one of these and man, do I love it!!!! It makes nice espresso, and with my Aeroccino 3 to go along with it, I can have a lovely cappuccino any time without paying big bucks at a pricey coffee shop. I love the flavor. Only thing is, I wish the drink stayed hotter longer. It tends to cool down with milk added, but it helps a bit when I preheat my cup. Other than that, I'm totally in love. :)

      To recalibrate to factory setting #1 turn off machine, #2 press and hold lungo button, #3 turn on machine while holding button ,#4 release lungo bottom. This is the procedure if your Citiz has an on /off switch.

  • @AromacupCoffee
    @AromacupCoffee  13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @eduki If you have Nespresso Citiz it will automatically go to stand my mode after 30 minutes. Or you can use Power Onn/Off switch.
    P.S. Enjoy your espresso

    @renix Good point and I do agree with you it's 8.8 or 9 bars. But it's exceeds the necessary pressure right? So here's nothing wrong with it. Here's also one more point why it's 19 bars from Nespresso's website "A Nespresso machine is equipped with a 19-bar pressure pump, which provides the power needed to pierce the film of the capsule and reveal the coffee’s 900 or so different aromas." So it also has something to do with Nespresso machines design.

    Like your video! I was just offered a free CitiZ as my pixie is giving intermittent fail signal( three flashing green lights followed by a pause). Have you any info on the error codes, is this common with these nespresso machines? Also is there a way to brew hottter? And if you increase the volume as you did with manual prolongation, is the temperature maintained? Thanks

    From wikipedia: "Lungo is Italian for 'long', and refers to the coffee beverage made by using an espresso machine to make an espresso (single or double dose or shot) with much more water (generally twice as much), resulting in a stretched espresso, a lungo." Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com

    From Coffee forums: "I am never really sure what to make of CoffeeReviews. Many of the coffees we enjoy from high-quality independent roasters score in the mid-90s, but there are so many 90+ coffees it seems almost meaningless. 90+ K-Cup and Nespresso?"
    "in case you believe Kenneth Davids in his review of pods and capsules, and want to switch... Illy capsules (90 points!?! REALLY?),"
    "That's what Ken Davids does, giving 91 to nespresso capsule too. *sigh*"

  • @renix3968
    @renix3968 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @aromacup I also take issue with the "19 bar" business Nespresso uses for marketing hype. You say in the video it "exceeds" the necessary pressure. No one uses anything too far from 9 bars at the basket (or manometer), so 19?! How does that get me anything? Who knows what the actual pressure is in the capsule?

  • @AromacupCoffee

    " we all different and like different coffee's" Imagine being served overcooked pasta with sauce from a can. A person who doesn't care will eat it. Someone who loves pasta and sauce will give you the stink eye. You can't tell that person "we all like different pasta!" Yes, we can all like different pasta within the range where it's made correctly, not outside that range. This is why Michelin restaurants cook a certain way and McD's cooks another.

    @renix Nespresso capsules was rated very high by Kenneth Davids who is well known expert (actually authority) in this field and other experts in this field. Please visit his website since I can't post links here. You can disagree and that is totally fine. I do respect your opinion because we all different and like different coffee's. The best part of it you will decide for yourself what is better for you.

    @le1erpote On behalf of Brian - Thank you :)

  • @renix3968
    @renix3968 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @aromacup Obviously, I disagree with the "decent" part. I've tried multiple capsules and volumes and only one did not make into the trash immediately. I was edible, but not something I'd pay to drink straight. I do understand the value proposition of convenience, it was not lost on me. There is also a well-documented problem with water volume inconsistency and a brew temp issue.

  • @AromacupCoffee
    @AromacupCoffee  13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @renix If it blow your mind it's totally OK. But please don't speak for other people. Also if you think you know better then David you need to prove it first.

    @aromacup Also, crema does not come from an "air mixture". There should be zero air in the brew process. Air has nothing to do with it. Perhaps you are thinking of steaming milk and thought that crema was made from air bubbles? It is not. It is emulsified oils, etc. etc. Simply research the process.

    So this is not a case of liking different coffee's. It's knowing what made correctly, and calling it what it is, which is "made incorrectly". There is a standard.
    It's not 8.8 or 9..It's whatever setting works for you. 9 is just the most efficient pressure, not always the best. The power of the pump is marketing hype. Most home machines use 15 and market that, so Nesp. badges it like a horsepower rating. Commercial machines never advertise max pressure, coincidence? Nope.

    All that being said, I maintain Nespresso's do not make good crema. They make foam with large bubbles. It's very odd. Look at every video you find and it will be pale. Every time. It should be darker with red speckles. And with that being said about crema, crema isn't where the important flavor is anyway :)

    @aromacup Yes, it blows my mind at times why KD bothers to review pods and cheapo coffee's with scores as high as 91. Take a look at the comment for the Ristretto review. A 91 review on CR is a good score, but is obviously meaningless when a Nesp. gets the same mark as a correctly made espresso. It's a bit confusing I know. No industry folk or at-home coffee geek types respect Nespresso at all. There's a reason for that, and it's not made up.
