Nespresso replaced mine because the base around the frother had burnt. The lady from Nespresso explained that it was something to do with the acid in the milk that caused the problem. She advised cleaning by adding a couple of drops of washing up liquid and some water and letting it run. I've done this and had no problems since.

Yeah mine has the same problem but I think I’ve had mine for too long to replace it so I’m just trying my best to clean it
Known problem - mine was replaced with warranty. Happened straight away with the brand new one
You should definitely be using at least a small amount of soap when cleaning. Milk builds up a film if you only use water because it contains fat (oil) which is why people are getting burnt bases. If you're too lazy, just put a drop of soap in, fill with water and turn on like you would with milk - just watch it so it doesn't overflow and stop it if it starts to leak. This video is daft 🙄
There is no switch off/on on the new aeroccino 3 refresh version.
The problem of burnt milk at the base is a real one as so many people are complaining - surely you can come up with a solution. Perhaps a special cleaning fluid we can buy with our capsules.

I agree. I don't know about washing something with just water, that has had milk in it. I use a very little gentle dish soap.It's not ideal, but there's not many options with the way it's made.

There is absolutely no way cleaning it with only water could work: I tried it and my aeroccino now has some burnt milk stuck to the bottom - you know that brown stain that is really hard to remove. I have had to use the sponge a lot and there still seems to be a fine brown line in a hard to reach part of the chamber. Please advise!
I had the same problem and Nespresso replaced it for me under guarantee. I now just rinse it with cold water and leave it to stand with cold water in it for a wee while afterwards. It's been over a year now and never had that problem again
We still need a video on how to deep clean this if burnt milk stains are left in the bottom.

Mine worked exactly once. Now it just warms up milk and the thing spins, but no froth any more. Using whole fat milk too...

Milk sticks to the bottom of container every time it is used. If i need to do 2 batches of milk, i need to scrub the base (not easy due to the narrow container size), or the milk burns. When will nespresso fix this? Have they even tried their own product?
Hi Shane, we can confirm that if milk protein residue is left inside the machine, it has the potential to burn, similarly to a milk pan. We therefore recommend that your unit is thoroughly cleaned after each use.

Hi. I have the Nespresso CitiZ platinum but the aeroccino does not froth the milk. I’ve tried a fresh carton of milk multiple times but it does NOT froth. I returned my machine and ordered a new one, this one still does NOT froth the milk. I am extremely disappointed

I just bought my Nespresso vertuo machine with the Aeroccino 3. Is it ok to wash the Aeroccino by simply putting a pump of Dial foam soap in it and water then closing it and shaking and rinsing it again after that? Thanks.

I have tried everything to clean off the burnt milk. Not even a very abrasive scrubbing pad helps. The only way is scraping it off with a spoon. Unless someone has a miracle idea, this is a very frustrating.
It's unclear from this video and user manuals I have accessed online whether the jug itself can be washed in a dishwasher. I would have thought that the jug would not be suitable for a dishwasher, but this video and one user manual states that:
"• Never immerse the base neither the Aeroccino in water. Electricity
and water together can cause a fatal electric shock.
• The Aeroccino 4 jug is dishwasher safe, but cannot be washed at a
temperature higher than 70° C/158° F." Above, these two paragraphs seem to contradict each other. The first states not to put the Aeroccino (presumably the jug?) in water; the second states that the Aeroccino 4 jug is dishwasher-safe. Can Nespresso please clarify? Thanks.

Such a good team Nespresso have I think they can do much better than this. Ideal product would have automatic cleaning or very low maintenance (cleaning after several usages). Tassimo solution is very good but don't like non fresh milk like in vending coffee machines. Maybe same as Tassimo tech but using reusable containers to pour the milk in (would include few of these containers to dishwash them every other day). Hope this feedback helps!
How do you prevent the milk from overflowing on hot when you have only used the required amount of milk
It's in there, but the manual is just bad. There is a low max line and a high max line. When you use the high max line, it's for warm milk, and in that case, you need to remove the spring from the whisk. The spring is for the foam when you only fill up to the low max line.
just fill up the milk below the tip of the whisk,the round black should be expose and it will be fine
My Aerocino broke down on the very same night I started using it. The free replacement unit does not froth now & Nespresso do not provide repair service for the Aerocino. You either get a free replacement if it still under warranty or you but a new unit!!

Mine no longer cleans well and is getting a burnt area around the outside bottom edge that can at times cause the red light hit to blink. Acid in my milk or not I liked my Krups’ steam wand better and will graduate/gravitate to this method again. The Aeroccino is too much effort that negates the convenience of expensive Nespresso caps in my U anyway.
Note! When I say “outside” I mean on the inside distal from the frother. Also I have owned this machine now for several years and it has given me good service. Even buying Peet’s capsules from Costco or Target or Illy Cafe’ and Williams-Sonoma brand capsules I find this to be expensive and wasteful. I am researching a fully automatic that grins whole bean coffee/espresso as an alternative. Less waste, easier disposal and more control.

I fill the inside of my aeroccino with hot soapy water and leave it for half hour to soak and then clean with a sponge.
John Warrick I let mine sit with warm soapy water after every use, but still cannot remove the burnt milk- even with warm, soapy sponge and srubber

Hi put a few drops of dettol and water and let it warm up for half an hour. Then leave everything inside & leave for 10-14 days. I promise the stain will be gone. Unfortunately you won’t be able to use the milk frother for 10-14 days

Hi, the spinner in my frother has stopped working. It makes an odd noise whenI press the start button and it then turns itself off. Can I just purchase the frother and spinner and not the base as mine is attached to the actual machine.

2nd time now that the Aeroccino will not froth but only gives warm milk. 1st time the metal piece was replaced... now again.
Have you tried experimenting with different brands and types of fresh milk, Diana?
@@nespresso I have. Currently I use 2% because the first time this happened I called and they said I needed a certain % of fat which 2% has. My sister has the same machine bought about a year or even 2 before me and she's never had this problem.

i bought a Nespresso in the US and i could not operate it here in the Philippines. even with a transformer from 220v to 110 as indicated in the manual the unit is not operational. pls advice what to do. thnk you

I've always cleaned my Aeroccino after each use but it does not froth any longer. Of course it happened as soon as my warranty was up.

Some of the milk burned to the bottom of the aeroccino, how can I remove that?
We recommend adding sugar to your cup rather than the Aeroccino, Sara. You can try cleaning it with warm, soapy water and a nonabrasive sponge.
I’d use a few drops of dettol let it warm up for half an hour and leave everything inside and put aside for 10-14 days. I promise you will have no stains and no smell

can anyone help I left milk in mine overnight for got to rinse but can get rid of the nasty smell cleaned it a few times but very frustrating smell wont go

maybe try putting hot water in it and froth the water. i clean mine out by putting the max amount of water in it and turning the machine on then wiping it down with a paper towel.

Ew, so we can't use soap? Mine came out of the box with some kind of oil or lubrication on it... i don't wanna use it if I can't use soap 🤮🤢🤢 also using milk and then no soap would cause bacteria buildup... this is weird.

We encourage our customers to routinely clean the device after each use to ensure that it is working properly and prevent potential future issues.
I wash mine with a sponge after each coffee I make. It works great that way. It only takes a minute.

I had the same problem, and the issue was that the whisk got detached when milk was poured on it.
So, check the thing is in the correct position and try turning it on again.

@@nespresso it actually is working! I initially first used Walmart brand’s, Great Value Almond Milk, to froth and it did not work. It just made air bubbles and did not froth at all. I then used Great Value creamer which actually doesn’t really have real diary in it and did not work either. However, I read online that certain brands of milk alternatives can’t froth but for almond milk to try Blue Diamond Almond Breeze brand to froth. Well I ended up buying it, the unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze, and it frothed up with a good foam consistency!! I also bought 2% milk and it frothed even better!! Also, I read shaking the milk especially milk alternatives help it to froth good foam which is true as well!! Thank you ;)
