  • The rise of ‪@AmelieLens‬'s career has been extraordinary. Within only a few years she has developed into one of the top techno DJs worldwide.
    With her passion for techno, her penchant for perfectionism and her uncompromising sound, she has risen from being a raver to a techno superstar - and there is no end in sight. Telekom Electronic Beats TV visited Amelie in her hometown of Antwerp and accompanied her to her own event, “Exhale".

    Whilst we appreciate and respect the right of people to freely voice their opinions, we kindly ask that it remains on point and is done in a fair and respectful manner. We reserve the right to delete sexist, misogynistic or otherwise offensive comments.

    • @joshsmith7812
      @joshsmith7812 4 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      Not saying those comments are correct or should be accepted, but deleting a comment isn't going to change somebodies mind or opinion, they're still able to voice those things personally if they wish, why not leave them and allow it to be discussed? Are they really free to voice their opinion if it's "misogynistic"? Then people know that person is a msygonist, maybe having somebody able to engage with and talk to them could change their mind, but pretending like it doesen't happen isn't solving any issues, hate will always exist, but not everybody has to agree with it or stand for it, but if that's how someone truly feels, they should be able to say what they want, and equally someone should be able to say what they want back to that person, or to ignore them, or whatever, but it's there.

      @@joshsmith7812 Yeah, no point in deleting the comments. Being misogynistic is stupid. Let them make fools of themselves.

      @@josue.guevara I disagree! this is a TH-cam Chanel....not a country...Telekom Electronic Beats
      has every right to delete comments and I applaud them if they do. If a guest of your friend comes to your Home and disrespects your mother or your wife...you will kick them out ..but why not just let them stay in your house ..right... I mean you wont change there minds by kicking them out, so why not let them stay and just ignore them while they keep insulting your family ?!
      Telekom Electronic Beats
      can shape the character of there youtube chanel in any way they want.... they don't have to be fair minded they don't have to give everyone a chance... Now as a subscriber you have the right not to come to this chanel anymore if you feel that it is wrong of them to delete an offensive comment. So you subscribers have your rights and they Telekom Electronic Beats
      have there own right to also do as they please on an online Forum , thread or Chanel.
      They don't have to allow it to be discussed! this is not a political science class, this is not a presidential debate forum....this is someones TH-cam chanel about music !!!!!!
      If the comment veers towards hate, sexism...or what ever the chanel feel is not what they are about, then they Telekom Electronic Beats
      should exercise the delete Hammer at will!
      Just like you would never allow a stranger to come to your house and start verbally insulting you ..you will not be saying ok let's discuss this! You would kick there butts out effectively deleting the situation.

      @@josue.guevara Exactly, silencing people's opinions isn't going to do anything, I fully stand by free speech, just because something is said doesen't mean you need to agree with it or that it's right or true, but if someone has an opinion, they should be allowed to share it, unless it's extremely wrong may be I can understand, but for the most part, people should be allowed to say what they want to and in turn people should be allowed to say what they want to back to that person, nothing good ever came of shutting off free communication between individuals, maybe if that person truly is msygonistic, their mind could be changed by somebody who says the right thing back to them, but if that persons viewpoint gets deleted, it's still going to exist, it's just going to exist elsewhere and nothing will change, communication is key to a lot of things in life imo.

    It's so nice to know that she cares about the crowd and her fans. Just like she said often people who go to a techno party just need to forget about their problems, stress and hard work for a moment. And many people go alone sometimes including me. So to know that the DJ isn't just there for the check, they care that we have good time and its just positive energy nothing else its really amazing, makes you feel less alone and helps blend in with the crowd and enjoy yourself. DJ's presence can really affect a set. Every track is suddenly 10x better when the DJ is also smiling looking at people and dancing I think you all would agree with me. She doesnt have to do this, she just could play focus on her deck and go home but she puts that extra effort into connecting with human beings. Thank you Amelie you're the best xx

  • @Zoydian

    I love her positive vibe, very refreshing. Many people have a totally wrong image of techno music, they think it's monotonous and soulless, and while sometimes that is indeed the case, very often it's all the contrary. Techno music can have so many layers, like an intricate painting. I love it!

    • @ReformedWhiteKnight
      @ReformedWhiteKnight 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ''Many people have a totally wrong image of techno music' - Why is it so important to you that people don't get the wrong impression about you and techno? ... Everybody needs to get their damn image right! Right? ;-)

    • @elisarasello6015
      @elisarasello6015 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indeed. I feel so free while dancing techno, because it is like I am also making up the track : I can dance a melody eveb though there is no melody, only because I feel it, only because that is my way to be inside the music. And still I won't be "wrong", there is no right or wrong really. I can go deeper, I can stay on the surface, it is just a journey.

    • @tweakmygroovebox608
      @tweakmygroovebox608 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was guilty of thinking that about techno, but then it dawned on me that quite a bit of the music that I liked (especially in real undeground raves) was techno. Music is music- it can be made badly or well. I have been getting into making my own using hardware- though my attempts at techno tend to be tech house (ish) because I use traditional music scales quite a bit, I love how deep some techno is and how texture can be used so well to create atmosphere and energy.

    I’m jealous of the fact Belgium has such a strong techno following and community. Once I started down that musical path I became the odd one. It was just emerging in the late 80s and I was hooked. I still do. However, I hope you never get to the point it where your comfortable with doing your set, because it’s that uncomfortable uncertainty and desire to continually connect to those in the audience is what makes and keeps the energy at a high level. Once you’re comfortable you become lazy and complacent, therefore predictable and boring. You must stay on edge to be on. True, it’s physically and emotionally draining as you pump the essence of your soul and being giving life to those listening to your set, just like a mom giving birth. So as a student of a dance class I taught said to me, save something of yourself and not give it all away, which isn’t easy to do.

    I was a regular at raves in the early to mid 90's. Nothing like the excitement of an illegal warehouse rave (and the legal ones). I loved having room to throw down and dance. I don't understand why people now stand so close. About all you can do is jump up and down and wave your arms. Good tunes, btw!

    • @djurovicjan
      @djurovicjan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Because now 10k people are at that same warehouse that in the 90's there was 500

      Because most of them are afraid of real dancing. it's easier to blend in the crowd. The same people will raise their smartphones to film a totally insignificant scene of the set etc.

      Belgium and Netherlands are the pioneers of electronic music, all others followed. while others started in the '90s, Belgium and the Netherlands had this already from the 80s.....
      All forms of EDM from techno to hardstyle/hardcore started in Belgium or the Netherlands, the collabs in these 2 countries is huge.

    She's a positive person who goes out at night only to spread love & joy via music to people through techno. She genuinely cares about what she's doing, which is why she deserves the success she's getting.
    Good on her..she's keeping a scene alive and moving it forwards in her own way 👍👍

    • @theoldfaithful7778
      @theoldfaithful7778 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      S R DHAIN I disagree completely. If she genuinely cares about what she is doing, she would not be the fee that she currently is. She is more for a set then Jeff Mills is...just let that sink in. She is part of the reason why the club scene is dying.

    • @bkidmore
      @bkidmore 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3
