- Zbrush Tutorial - How to Reduce Polycount while Preserving Details
This time we’re taking a look at how to get a lower the polycount of your mesh substantially while still preserving the details. Decimation Master is an amazing plugin that reduces the polycount of your mesh by triangulating it and providing more resolution in complex areas and less detail in simpler ones.

I have to test this more, but this seems this is the best piece of information I've ever gotten from the internet, thank you!
lol! I was thinking the same thing.
You're a life saver! No idea what I'm doing, and I somehow created 1.5 mil polys a ways back in my project. UVing that would of been a nightmare
hi, in which cases should I use this pluggin and then the zremesh? is necessary to use both? specially for projection .
that's what I'v been looking for .. Thanks
Thank you so much for making this video! Knowing this is going to be extremely useful.
WOW! Tested this out on one part of my model that had 1.5 mil points, went to 308k and no loss in detail/quality!
ur channel is soo helpful and straight to the point! thx so much
Super clear and useful, thanks!
triangle? why?
it deletes my textures even if i select 'keep uv' . what am i supposed to do
Good, quick and easy! Thanks.
Thank you for the great tip. It was very helpful!
Thank you for sharing this useful tool!
Thanks a lot!Very helpful
So useful, thanks a million.
i have a question, i had on my tool like 3milon poligons, and the size of the file when i save it is about 2,3 gb, when i sow that i tried to decimate a tool to 15% and now all the active poligons on total 6 subtools are 1,5 milions witch is great for me, but the size of the file is only a little bit les like 2.1 gb. Why that ? pls help me wit this if you can, I am already subscribed :D
Thanks, you saved my life.
You just saved me failing my uni work lmao. Thanks so much!
wow Love it ! 😍 thanks ! finally i found this tutorial
Thank u so much you've been very helpful
decimation is good for 3d print ?
Thanks, was looking for something like this!
This is realy good solution man thankx !
Thank youu a lot for sharing, you really help me. Thank youu so much !!
I like your voice and your content!
thank for this! :D
Can't thank you enough brother!!!
For some reasons when I do decimate my model went from 52K tris to 92K .. I’m confused on why it increased the poly count
thank you
Thank you!
obrigado ajudou bastante!!!
Thank you
I'm using this in ZBrush Core and it looks like Decimation Master isn't showing all those options like in the video. Only options are 25k 35k 75k 150k 250k. :/
Hey guys i need help, my polygons have gone up to about 4.1 mil and I am desperately trying to get it back down, AND DecimationMaster won’t help at all.
try and use zremesher, there are tutorials on youtube you can watch.
Thanks Brother
Whats is the difference from this and Z-remesher?
Anuzu Studios this is more like optimizer in 3ds max, horrible for topology if you are rigging and putting in game, you will get tons of triangles that are a mess, it's ok if you don't plan on moving anything
I want to print my project with 3D printer - do you know how to prepare my model for it???
i'll use this tool.
MY MAN
thx
And how do i keep the polypaint?
yes. how do we keep polypaint
Copy your model first, then project your polypaint from your high density mesh
but it didnt preserve details
wtf why have i not seen this tool
I love you
made a cave, 3 rock walls had 16mil polys... Yeeeah 3dsmax was not happy about that.
Is that Tommy Wiseau?
decimation master
young morton
u sound like dillon danis
What what did he??🤔
skip to 2:00 to skip pointless rambling. Also turn volume up max
stfu
Yeah skipping to that point is faster and gets it straight to the point. Thanks man
love you
or be thankfull and shut up
Ungrateful af
fix your audio levels babe
Skip to 2:00 seriously why take so long to get to a simple point?
half master, half uhmmm
Oh god, would you speak a bit louder?
talk louder man
increase your volume man, stupid fuck
i heard he perfectly...maybe you have your speakers so low?
the sound making a weird confidence .. it makes me irritating to watch
Speak faster!
Wow 5 minutes of nothing. He never explains what the value of Decimation Master is, what was accomplished...nothing. So you went from one complex mesh to another complex mesh...for absolutely no reason or purpose??? PLUS now its all triangles!
SAND MAN it's for beauty renders man. The % slider is self explanatory
so you lower the polygons to have that triangle aspect so you can do dope renders with a diferent style?
If you said less umms it'll probably cut around 1minute of the video.
Thank u so much you've been very helpful
thank you
