I said non english versions playing during the climax of the film... The Super Mario movie uses the original version of holding up for a hero. And it's during a training montage. Shrek 2 may count if you're watching an international version since they also dubbed the song in some languages.
Epic. This and the Russian cover by Paolina which plays during the car chase scene are fastastic. Edit: thought this version was playing during the car chase. Look up 'holding out for a Hero Paolina' for the Russian version that played there.

Apple TV went to another show before the credits rolled to the songs used in the movie. Watching the car chase again I realised that they were singing Russian, the start just sounds so much like the Ren cover.

Odd how the film mixed this instrumental and the vocals of the Russian version they created to make a combination of the two. Still, this version is wonderful!
It’s funny that this movie and the Super Mario Bros. Movie are near to each other’s release dates, both had been published by Nintendo (the GB version), are based on popular video games and have I Need a Hero in one scene. XD

Someone needs to make an edit of the Super Mario Bros movie but with this cover of the song. It would bring it full circle with these two movies being about Nintendo IPs.
