@@Fayklore i imagine when they release the ff7 remake part 2 and the newer fans see what happened to aerith, he may get up there again. Then again the attention may go instead to sephiroth. Bias aside Sephiroth is still a much better antagonist than say Benedikta Harmon, Hugo Kupka, Empress Anabella.... The only antagonist that is of some interest at least for me in ff16 is Ultima but I still feel that he doesnt hold a candle to sephiroth.

I’ve played most of the FF games and I can say with certainty that FF16 (this game) slaps hard. A couple of flaws with side quests but the story, characters, soundtrack and ESPECIALLY the boss fights are all superb. Solid 8 or 9/10 game

@@walkerman2001 How is there a variety? Combat, while is great, is the only way to express yourself in the game. There's nothing else besides the combat, cutscenes and going from point A to B. And I haven't experienced worse sidequests in a long time. I think they're even worse than in recent Assassin's Creed games. All sidequests I've played so far (I'm in the desert, so about halfway through the game) were like: talk to somebody, kill some monsters, pick something up or a mix of any of those 3 things.
@@greggski3710 For the sidequests, you’re boiling it down to what it isn’t is, I could say your favorite game is just “push a stick, press some buttons, win” and while that would be true it wouldn’t address any actual depth within, and read my earlier comment for what that depth is (especially in the slave girl quest from moore). With the combat, I love games that focus on one or two aspects and perfect those systems instead of putting a ton of random bloated systems and mini games that feel like wastes of time. There is not a single aspect of the 16’s gameplay that I could look at and say “that was unneeded” as I do with 99% of games especially modern ones.

This is probably the second-best use of "Holding Out For a Hero" with a videogame I've seen. Considering the other one is the "Rescue your homies" ending of Saints Row 3, that's pretty high praise.
