I've had a big crush on Yvonne Strahovski for her portrayal of Sarah. Smart, badass, funny and absolutely beautiful. And I think that Chuck has had a big influence on Nerd and Geek culture. The video game Mass Effect 2 had a new character named Miranda, whose face and voice was modeled after Yvonne and spoken by her. I believe that her stellar performance earned her that spot and she became a new fan favorite from that point on.
Sarah may literally be the most overall attractive (in all senses of the word) character in the history of television. I get that she was written by a straight dude to appeal to a straight dude's fantasy, but...mission accomplished, my man. And Yvonne played the hell out of that character too.
Hell yes. I wish the MCU had picked her up for Captain Marvel. It's shocking to me that an actress of her talent doesn't land more lead roles. I find her highly watchable.
@@buddysally886haha I wanted dexter to have a happy ending with Hannah. Them just leaving Miami to live a normal family life or leave together while still be hunted but atleast know they are together.
@@ComedyBros5comes down to her Agent & also the roles she likes to play. Recently I feel she has chosen to be a mother than an actress. Sure she still acts but she hasn’t been in that many shows/movies recently. Her prime or her time was 2005-2016 I feel that’s when I’d see her everywhere. 🤷🏻♂️
I found this show after being dumped myself. I was about two weeks away from proposing. She was a blonde girl named Sarah. So, when I found this it was a panacea of sorts for my weary heart. I loved every single episode. The spy antics, the romance, the action, drama, and even the stuff that really pushes suspension of disbelief were all golden to me. Didn't help that Yvonne Strahovski was/is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Might be do for a rewatch, it's been a while!
Loved Chuck. One of my favorite scenes is when Casey is complaining about his skimpy swimsuit and sarah brings up how many skimpy outfits she's had to wear over the years and basically tells him to suck it up. Not a fan of how it ended though. I can understand how they came to want to do it that way, but it still makes me a little sad, which is not how I think about that show. It was my happy show.
I loved chuck with a passion. I could even get to season 5 episode 8. But afterwards it broke my heart. If people are aware of the ending it's Just crushing for the people that have seen the trials and tribulations of the characters
@@bobvalley2221 Yeah it was for me like being rewarded with a kick in the family jewels. And I supported the campaigns to bring it back from the edge of cancellation. Ending for me Hurt. One of the few shows I was engaged with. Another one was the 90s classic Babylon 5
Currently watching the show for the third time. I loved the show from the beginning and all the characters, but completely and utterly fell in love with Chuck and Sarah...I still get teary eyed when they want each other so badly but can't, Sarah's growing love for Chuck will always warm my heart...please, please make a movie, would love for them to eventually get the life they deserve ❤
CHUCK!! This was actually a great show! Especially since it was a network tv show which are hit or miss. Zachary Levi deserves the hype he’s getting right now so maybe we will see a Chuck movie.
I'd never seen the show until I found it on HBOmax last year. I remember when it was on, but I just never watched it. Never dreamed when I started watching it that I'd be rewatching it a year later and it would be one of my favorite shows.
There was a little bit more to the Subway plan. In addition to buying the subs, we were filling out every customer survey we could access and listing Chuck as the reason for buying the subs. So Subway didn't just see a little uptick in sales, they saw that the sales were coming specifically from those fans.
My wife and I just finished streaming all five seasons of 'Chuck'. We're both IT types, and the plot lines and dialog rang true to us. Character development was excellent, and the guest stars gave the show a lift when it started to lag. We'll re-watch it sometime soon. Can't say enough good things about your video, so "Thanks" for doing it.
This show had it all, the feels, the comedy, the action. Rarely at such equal levels. The lunatics of Jeffster man... they were stupid hilarious. Zachary is such a loving dude. I hope he isn't putting too much stress on himself to get more Chuck.
I love Chuck. I cried when Chuck and Sarah had those moments and laughed when chuck and Morgan had their moments. This series got me excited every Tuesday-Wednesday. Would love to see this come again.
The different songs used in this show was awesome. I still listen to all those bands featured. Boniver’s Creature Fear used in Season 2 Episode 21 when Chuck and Sarah are in bed was such a powerful moment.
One of my favorite shows of all time. Big fan of the cast to this day. I watched the series through and later bought the blurays to watch through a second time with my two boys. I also watched a good amount of their second time through
I was thrilled when I tracked down the last series on dvd, thus completing the set.We replay these b2b on long weekends every now and then on a projector. Getting actors from previous franchises was genius.I blinked and missed Mark Hamil until he spoke. The duplicity of alexi volkov was brilliant. (a good guy converted into a villain pretending to be a good guy) Best line in the series"I know kung fu"
Not enough folks talk about this show. This was *the* show for me back in the day. It was always a big family ordeal to sit down every Tuesday at 7pm CST to watch it with my family (I was around 12yrs old at the time). I enjoy it so much that my wife and I bought it on DVD (since it was criminally removed from all streaming services) and watch it at least once every other year. The characters, the story, the soundtrack - and like I said, I watched it with all my brothers and parents, so it's even family friendly as well! I would call it the best show ever if Season 5 didn't exist. I'm still annoyed that we haven't at least gotten a full length feature film to fix that series finale!
This series was so much fun but the thing that stood out the most was that it had an ending. A proper ending, one that made sense and it felt like we could walk away, leaving Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Morgan and, of course, Jeffster to go about their lives without being short changed. It was refreshing to see in an era of easy-come-easy-go series getting cancelled overnight.
While yes it has an ending, it's not the proper ending for the show. And in all honestly, Season 5 totally taints the near perfection of the series. Season 5 is so hard to get through for me, while S1-4 are easy to watch!
I remember coming home from school and dying to see the new episode airing on tv (i still have a tear-stained page of my diary of the day in which the sarah and poison episode aired, lmao). Best show ever. Nothing comes even close.
The show managed to deftly meld a relatively serious spy drama with genuine comedy without tipping too hard in either direction. Combine that with a great cast and it was truly something unique at the time. First 2 seasons especially.
I had heard about this show for a little while and then I found seasons 1 thru 4 for dirt cheap at a pawn shop and I figured "what the heck I'll give it a shot" and now its one of my favorites shows. Really hope they come back with another season or a movie.
Chuck shouldn't become forgotten . They were funny and had best guest stars(Rachel Bilson , Kristin Kreuk, Timothy Dalton ,Matt Bomer ,John Larguette ,Linda Hamilton, Scott Bakula ,Chevy Chase)
I've always looooved both the shows Chuck and Psych and this character breakdown just made me realise that both the shows main character archetypes are essentially the same. One outsider, his supportive bestfriend, a badass female law enforcement officer who falls in love with the main character, a no nonsense law enforcement officer. These dynamics are just soooo fun to watch, especially when done right.
I'd agree except one could see what was wrong with it: the directing. There are two directors I've ever noticed due to how absolutely terrible they are so that they made me care wonder who tf saw their end product & approved it & Robert Duncan McNeil is one of 'em. He not only doesn't try to make scenes mesh, he removes all sense of pace. Or urgency. In 'Enterprise' he has Cpt. Archer speak with threatening Klingons in a weak, apologetic style of a Canadian who accidentally bumped into someone on a sidewalk. In Chuck, he cut out scenes that made the story make sense to let scenes without action take precedence. Why was Chuck's best friend walking around Chuck's house naked? Who knows? How did he tape guns to a spot on his back he couldn't reach? Those were McNeil's ideas of humor So Important they needed to stay in episodes that lacked continuity because of them. I couldn't follow a single damned episode let alone the ongoing storylines.
I love this show. So much that I bought it on DVD. The atmosphere on the set was so good, they came as close as if they were family. Just as on the show Firefly.
Man I loved... Well I still love this damn show! I remember every season was a hold your breath moment because you just didn't know if it would comeback! We the fans helped to get it to 5 seasons and a finale that we were happy with. I'd love a chuck movie. I can't believe it's been over ten years since it ended!! But at the same time it does feel like a whole different era.
loooved chuck so much, what a beloved series, i loved his relationship with sarah, and the bonding with casey and morgan's goofiness, jester.. hotta rewatch it someday.
I feel the show really started to go downhill when the writers decided that suddenly anyone could be the intersect, when for so long what made Chuck special is that only he could handle it without dying instantly. Especially in the last season when seemingly everyone became the intersect except for Chuck.
Me too, I’m a sucker for happy ending. Not saccharine, but happy. I remember this one being kinda sad but with a glimmer of hope. It was enough closure for me. Unlike Quantum Leap, to this day that postscript about Sam, pisses me off and I loved that show.
I agree, I have watched the series several times and I always skip season 5, except for the first run through. I prefer to have it end with the season 4 finale with their wedding.
Chuck is my favorite show of all time. Rewatched it countless times and the ending still hurts every time haha. The character development is top notch and the chemistry between Sarah and Chuck was great. Easily my favorite TV relationship. Still praying for the Chuck movie to get the green light and tell us what happened after the final scene... orrr even a spinoff/sequel with a new cast could be interesting.
I didn't watch Chuck until 2015, when i found it on Netflix I think. It quickly became my favorite show and I've binge watched it 5 times since then. I really loved a Levi cared and continues to care about the show.
Let's take a moment and just marvel at all the girls that played love interest to Chuck although there's no way they could steal him from Sarah. Lou played by Rachel Bilson, Jill by Jordana Brewster and my favorite Hannah by Kristen Kruek
Personally Chuck is my favorite show ever. I watched it so many times over the years and even have a blu ray collector and a big displate of the show in my bedroom so yeah.
I have to say this show has one of my favorite reveals ever, where one of the characters is ambushed in a really bad and obviously fake fight scene. Everybody seeing it initially complained about how badly staged that fight scene was. Then the next episode, Morgan looks at the fight film footage and figures out that the guy was the mole, because he's seen a lot of low budget kung-fu films, and that was a really bad fake stage fight, but Morgan saw through it, since he's seen a lot of bad kung-fu films. It's funny to see a bad fight scene become a plot point.
One of the first shows my wife and I watched together. I remember every year watching the list to see if we got another season. Was lucky enough to see some of the set
Great video. Idk know about the Zachary Levi popularity after his viral rants? I was late to the party in watching Chuck in 2020 when a lot was shutdown, going into the pilot episode I was bored at first, but by the end I was hooked, I was2 a fan of the last seasons direction. I missed out on being apart of the fandom, I loved it, and this right after I binged Dexter so I was able to warm up to Yvonne Strahovski easily as the main love interest. I agree that you don't see too many shows with positively passion fanbase, maybe Supernatural?
There were so many more aspects, that made the show outstanding, and much more rich in detail and feeling, than 90% of TV productions: *) Chuck + Sarah are an interesting counterpart to Leonard + Penny, even more exaggerated with Morgan + Mini Anden - overall the not-TBBT, but similar direction in favor of nerd culture *) the different contexts allowed for independent tones and sub-plots, like Morgan+Anna, Jeff+Lester as a classic comedic duo plus "Jeffster", peaking as a duo in the moment, where they hide and live in the van for months (cause they believe they caused the explosion), and then the episode, where Jeff turns out a normal, clever, serious guy in shirt+tie (after he stopped sleeping in the exhaust fumes), and of course the flashback to his arcade career *) the Buy More crowd as a whole ... e.g. in the fight club sub plot *) Captain Awesome .... from the sympathetic souvereign guy to the one, who sometimes is unable to cope the situation *) the show did a regular window back to the 80ies when it comes to pop culture, music and feeling *) myriads of references and quotes, from broader topics than e.g. HIMYM *) the increasing number and quality of guest stars, often reprising kind of meta-roles, from those, they are known for *) experimental intermissions like the 3D episode or the "Hart to Hart" intro, the Halloween ep/demo incl. Robert Englund, the WASP-like spy settlement, ... *) tech and gadgets were used extensively, but even the SciFi ones never got too ridiculous One of my personal fav moments: Timothy Dalton, switching his whole charisma from the believably awkward, timid guy in a vest to the classic Bond pose. Genius! Last not least, Lauren Cohan as his memorable daughter.
Just Bring Chuck back already...Zachary is super popular right now. All these superhero geeks are crazy about superheroes and Chuck is all about geeks. It's one big salad of components making a Chuck continuation a guaranteed success.
WE DESERVE A CHUCK MOVIE!!!! We need a few loose ends tied up. Did Sarah get her memory back?!?!? I'd like to think she did but I want confirmation. My Soul needs this!!!
Exactly. How have we not at least had a mini-sequel series or a 2hr feature film? I feel like all the actors and actresses would be all for it! We need something to fix the awful series finale/Season 5 as a whole!
I recently finished a Chuck marathon (also on HBO max). I hadn't watched when it was originally on, as I had watched the Monday competition. I found it super fun and heartwarming and wondered how I missed it the first time around. The cast's chemistry is fantastic. I think a movie or sequel would be incredibly difficult given the all the character endings, putting everyone all over the place, so it should include another show like The Mentalist or Prodigal Son. (Needs to be HBO/Warner Bros, and has to include FBI/NSA makes this pretty difficult) Main core cast teammup. Super techie Chuck with anti tech Patrick Jane. Hilarity ensues.
*Chuck* is one of my favorite shows of all time. At least once a year we binge the series on Blu-ray. A movie would be awesome! Like how Psych does one every couple years.

I loved Chuck! Such a good show and here's how big of an impact it had: when I applied to Best Buy and interviewed with the store manager, he had this huge talk about how Best Buy was better than Nerd Herd. Made me laugh!

I think Jeffster's cover of Mr Roboto was the most hauntingly beautiful performances I've seen on Tv
Hope things are good now!
Perfect comment. Spot on for each point.
I met Adam Baldwin the day after Chuck ended. Really nice guy!
I loved chuck with a passion.
I could even get to season 5 episode 8.
But afterwards it broke my heart.
If people are aware of the ending it's Just crushing for the people that have seen the trials and tribulations of the characters
Glad I'm not the only one that was crushed with the way it ended.
@@bobvalley2221
Yeah it was for me like being rewarded with a kick in the family jewels.
And I supported the campaigns to bring it back from the edge of cancellation.
Ending for me Hurt.
One of the few shows I was engaged with.
Another one was the 90s classic Babylon 5
Just finished the show. Im depressed, what a sad ending
I absolutely adored this show, me and my dad watched every episode together, one of my favorite TV shows
This series is a masterpiece; and if a sequel movie is ever made with the original creators; I have no doubt it will be awesome.
So glad you covered Chuck. This is one of the most underrated shows of recent past. Huge fan of Zach Levy and Yvonne remains my first TV crush!
There was a little bit more to the Subway plan. In addition to buying the subs, we were filling out every customer survey we could access and listing Chuck as the reason for buying the subs. So Subway didn't just see a little uptick in sales, they saw that the sales were coming specifically from those fans.
I finally watched this show end of last year and I loved it. One of the best tv shows ever made. I hope the movie happens.
I loved this show back in the day, Zachary Levi was perfect as the lovable geeky superspy, long before he was Shazam, a childish Superhero!
Yeah the stuff with Sarah and Chuck really hits you in the feels. So well made all around.
This show also had the great theme song .... Cake's "short skirt, long jacket". TV shows don't have great theme songs anymore.
(a good guy converted into a villain pretending to be a good guy)
Best line in the series"I know kung fu"
Best ending to a show ever. It's almost like it can loop if you want
Still the best Spy series till date in my opinion. It has everything, even the supporting casts was outstanding
I absolutely loathed the ending. ALL that work building the relationship just to lose their history.
It had the worst ending ever.
@@iAmAzwellI agree. By having Sarah lose her memory, the show erased all of her character development. That basically killed off the character.
Just re-watched Chuck after 10 years. And I was amazed that I find the ending to be pretty good compared to my initial memory of it.
While yes it has an ending, it's not the proper ending for the show. And in all honestly, Season 5 totally taints the near perfection of the series. Season 5 is so hard to get through for me, while S1-4 are easy to watch!
I finally just finished the series 3 days ago. Watched it from the first episode and lost track of it around season 3. Love this show
I always wondered when a major TH-camr would cover this series. It's like a relic of my childhood
This show is still so much fun to watch. It’s a prime example of early 2000’s pop culture.
definitely one of my favorite shows of all time, and one of the few normal tv shows I have all the seasons of.
The casting for this series was spot on
Top tier
I introduced my fiancee to this show, & we ended up marathoning it over the course of 6 months. It is criminally underrated!
Bro that's a relationship experience I envy, wish I had something this cool.
Based on how much i been binge watchin this show..6 months is not marathoning..not by a long shot
@@joekimani4387 I work 2 jobs. 6 months is marathoning for me.
This show had a great cast of guest stars too. I love this show.
I love Chuck! It had everything! Action. Adventure. Comedy. Romance.
This was a show that we always looked forward to the next week's episode. Nothing but fond memories of Chuck
Always heard about this show but never saw it myself. It's on my long list of shows to eventually watch
It's one of my favorites. It's got action, humor, romance, and it's just so darn fun
The CunninLynguist - move "Chuck" to the top of your list. You can thank me afterwards by buying me Subway. 😉
What are other shows in your list?? Would you like to share??
Hell yes! Thank you for this. Great show. Now if Screen Junkies would do an Honest Trailer, the series would get even more exposure.
One of the best shows I can recall growing up. Worth watching for sure.
My daughter and I were OBSESSED with this show.
Still slightly disappointed by how it ended
Me too, I’m a sucker for happy ending. Not saccharine, but happy. I remember this one being kinda sad but with a glimmer of hope. It was enough closure for me. Unlike Quantum Leap, to this day that postscript about Sam, pisses me off and I loved that show.
I agree, I have watched the series several times and I always skip season 5, except for the first run through. I prefer to have it end with the season 4 finale with their wedding.
Totally missing out on a awesome series if you don’t see this .. yes if done right … Chuck fans would love to see them back in action !!!
Chuck will forever be one of my favorite shows, it sucked how it ended but it was a brilliant show! I binge watch this show at least once a year.
David Arroyo and Jesse Shade are awesome duo. Makes this retrospective series a favorite of mine.
Chuck and OC Made my childhood awesome
I have to say this show has one of my favorite reveals ever, where one of the characters is ambushed in a really bad and obviously fake fight scene. Everybody seeing it initially complained about how badly staged that fight scene was.
Then the next episode, Morgan looks at the fight film footage and figures out that the guy was the mole, because he's seen a lot of low budget kung-fu films, and that was a really bad fake stage fight, but Morgan saw through it, since he's seen a lot of bad kung-fu films.
It's funny to see a bad fight scene become a plot point.
This show is and will always be one of my favourites
HUGE fan of Chuck! Glad to see this show is still resonating with folks today.
One of my favorites!! Loved Chuck, it was great! So glad I'm not the one who can reminsce with joy on this episode!
One of the first shows my wife and I watched together.
I remember every year watching the list to see if we got another season.
Was lucky enough to see some of the set
This has always been my favorite show, glad to see it get some love
I am sick home and just binge watched this show last weekend. Thanks buddy.
I've been binge watching this on Prime over the past couple of months. It's such a great show!
There were so many more aspects, that made the show outstanding, and much more rich in detail and feeling, than 90% of TV productions:
*) Chuck + Sarah are an interesting counterpart to Leonard + Penny, even more exaggerated with Morgan + Mini Anden
- overall the not-TBBT, but similar direction in favor of nerd culture
*) the different contexts allowed for independent tones and sub-plots, like Morgan+Anna, Jeff+Lester as a classic comedic duo plus "Jeffster", peaking as a duo in the moment, where they hide and live in the van for months (cause they believe they caused the explosion), and then the episode, where Jeff turns out a normal, clever, serious guy in shirt+tie (after he stopped sleeping in the exhaust fumes), and of course the flashback to his arcade career
*) the Buy More crowd as a whole ... e.g. in the fight club sub plot
*) Captain Awesome .... from the sympathetic souvereign guy to the one, who sometimes is unable to cope the situation
*) the show did a regular window back to the 80ies when it comes to pop culture, music and feeling
*) myriads of references and quotes, from broader topics than e.g. HIMYM
*) the increasing number and quality of guest stars, often reprising kind of meta-roles, from those, they are known for
*) experimental intermissions like the 3D episode or the "Hart to Hart" intro, the Halloween ep/demo incl. Robert Englund, the WASP-like spy settlement, ...
*) tech and gadgets were used extensively, but even the SciFi ones never got too ridiculous
One of my personal fav moments: Timothy Dalton, switching his whole charisma from the believably awkward, timid guy in a vest to the classic Bond pose. Genius! Last not least, Lauren Cohan as his memorable daughter.
Yes! the twist with a Timothy Dalton was amazing. Such a great performance.
Loved this show from the beginning! Every character and actor was amazing and I loved all the special guest stars like Linda Hamilton and Scott Bakula! Also, where are my Pops Funko????
This video has brought waves of nostalgia. I loved this show and thought the casting was done perfectly too! I don’t remember how it ended, but I suppose that could be a blessing in disguise since I can rewatch it.
love how the initial idea for Chuck came from another of my favourite shows- Alias
I loved Chuck! Such a good show and here's how big of an impact it had: when I applied to Best Buy and interviewed with the store manager, he had this huge talk about how Best Buy was better than Nerd Herd. Made me laugh!
Chuck will always have a place in my nerdy heart. It had everything i wanted in a show.
It shocks me that not a lot of people know of this show it’s an underrated masterpiece
Omg I’m *SO* shocked I totally forgot about the series 😱I loved it very much the characters were so well written 🔥🔥🔥
I'd love a video about The OC. It was one of my favorite series growing up
wtf. I didn't know that levi was still trying to make that happen. chuck was literally one of my favourite series for a long time.
A big part of why this show is so great is Yvonne’s acting. She is so good at using her eyes and facial expressions to portray emotion and you believe it. She’s one of the best actors I’ve ever seen
