Sorry, but May 2025 is a generous 6 months out. Surely that is enough time to pull it together, put together a plan, and move out. Apartment tenants are often only given 1 month notice, rarely anything more. If I was them, I would take the $14,000 and leave in 6 weeks. You can strategize a plan in 6 weeks. I would take the cash and move on while the offer is still on the table.
That is assuming they have a place to go. Most likely they will wind up in a cheap motel for say $1,800 per month until the money runs out. Then storage is like $500 per month.
Whenever you rent, you have to be prepared to move as your lease can be cancelled at any time. I understand not everyone can afford to buy, but be aware that when you rent, there are no guarantees.
A number of years ago a mobile home park my mobile home was located in was sold. I was given a date that I needed to be out by. I think it was a few months in advance. That was it, that was all we got. We all looked for other parks that would rent a space to us and we all moved out by the deadline. And many of the residents were seniors. We all just did what we needed to do without whining and calling the news media or getting a dime for our troubles. btw, the place was sold to a developer that built a strip center on the property. Another local park was sold to a local hospital that build an outlying hospital on the property.
The residents unfortunately do not own the property. No different that if the owner is selling a house if your a rented you do not have rights. They will lose it may just extend the deadline. Sad situation.
The fact is who owns the land decides the state of the land. If these people don’t pay the rents it will hurt them more. The owners can make it worse. Now they know wants going to happen they should look for someplace else the land is not theirs.
This mobile home park looks in really good condition. This is really sad coming on the winter/ holiday season when we are supposed to be giving thanks and being generous. At least give them until the summer. What's the rush anyway?
I'm always shocked when renters act like they own. If you wanted to own you should have bought the land not not the disposable structure on the rented land. How is this a new concept ?
I just got a notice raising my rent $300 a month. They said let us know if you are moving out. They don't care. I have to move because I can't afford it. 2 month notice.
Unfortunately, that's normal these days. They can do whatever they want. No state laws control them, at least not in my area. My rent went up $212.00 a month this past April. To assuage me, they told me I'd be getting new windows, but I never got them. I think they are waiting until I move as it is easier for them to replace window in an empty apartment.

Anyone who plans to live in Florida is out of their minds.
14000 should go a long way in Cuba or ask your Pals Trump and DeSantis they should be happy to help.
Ask Harris/ Biden. They're in the White House , not Trump, not DeSantis
Whenever you rent, you have to be prepared to move as your lease can be cancelled at any time. I understand not everyone can afford to buy, but be aware that when you rent, there are no guarantees.
They're being offered more money (14K) that most trailer parkers have ever seen!

The owner of the land is either selling it, or they are developing it. Either way these renters do not own the land, so they have no say.
You can't refuse to leave and not pay the rent. It sucks, but that is the downside to renting

50 thousand dollars ?? For what ??? you rent .
They thank the land belongs to them for renting 😀😀😀
Give me, give me, give me....its really getting old.
The residents unfortunately do not own the property. No different that if the owner is selling a house if your a rented you do not have rights. They will lose it may just extend the deadline. Sad situation.
Ask Donald Trump , who you voted for , he can fix it up .
The fact is who owns the land decides the state of the land. If these people don’t pay the rents it will hurt them more.
The owners can make it worse. Now they know wants going to happen they should look for someplace else the land is not theirs.
It’s prime Realistate in south Florida what do u expect lots trailer parks in Orlando move there .

That’s a huge rent raise!

Getting $14,000 and 6 months notice. Sounds like a pretty good deal for worthless property.
At no point is it mentioned that any of these people are Owners! They are all renters , as mentioned several times in the report.
So they are all Very Misinformed , thinking that they have some form of right to stand up and say we're not gonna move.
They can say they're not going to move. But they defiantly moving. The property is sold already.
Trump made a lot of money from his followers. I know he has a lot of support in that trailer park. So y'all should ask Trump.

@Repub_Rico_GOP you got it. If y'all vote against y'all own interest you deserve whatever comes with it. Besides Trump a developer so they know each other.
CAPITALISM HAS NO PLACE IN HOUSING!!!! HOUSING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF BASIC NEEDS!!!!
Being that the residents have gathered together now, they should consider buying and updating apartment buildings and moving into one or more of those. Then they are the ones in control.
the beginning of trumps america
This has nothing to do with Trump, you ignorant fool.
Developers are buying up Mobile Home Parks across America - and the owners/tenants are being evicted. Very sad.
They don’t own the property so they really have no choice but to move!
It's only going to get worse.
Usual suspects behind the move too!
6 months notice is more than enough. I understand their frustration and anger but they live on someone else's land and this is one of the consequences!
I'd rather own an RV or a 5th wheel trailer in that park. That way, if the owner decides to sell the land to a developer, I can drive out of there and take my home with me.
