I picked up some Dexter heifers at 13 months old. One of them had a calf at 15 months, That means she was 6 month old when bred. The breeder never had this happen before and now separates them so there's no contact with a bull at an earlier age. The calf is completely normal and healthy.

Where the heck are you getting 1000 lb Dexter's, unless it's a very large bull.

She actually has the most milk the day she gives birth, and the amount slowly reduces over the year until she has her next calf. Hope this helps. Thank for watching!!

And back to your hay thing. Your round Bale feeders are so wasteful. They should have solid sides about a foot up from the bottom. So much waste.
