Norman has such a backstory here, that it puts his time in the show to so much shame. I love how you used 11001's real history to your fullest potential, his shift felt natural, and the chase was perfect! Best character in the movie by far! This definitely felt like a complete production, with all the crashes, fun character momenta, and Thomas being a peak main! 10/10!

This proves that this fandom is far more powerful than any other fandom out their. I am surprised that the Fat Controller didn’t have diesel 10’s claw removed though.
That was perfect! I half expected Diesel 10 to fall off that rickety old bridge they crossed. The amount of sly TATMR references was brilliant! Diesel 10 is the perfect antithesis to Sir Topham Hatt. The only negative is that Toby didn't get to repeat his moment from TATMR.
When diesel 10 said “alright my little bucket of badness time to feast yourself” I thought diesel 10 was abt to attack tidmouth sheds with og soundtrack of it from magic railroad
Now “THIS” is how Day of the Diesel’s should be. The rich darkness of dieselization, scrapping steam motive power, something HIT entertainment foolishly refused to incorporate.
Not to mention creative action sequences, the return of old diesel characters from the past, complex character development and character arc, and introducing new characters Belle and Flynn properly and giving Belle a bigger role in the film. This movie should've been rated PG (for Intense Sequences of Peril and Action with Scary Images). However, I do wish Diesel 10's defeat was more stronger. Instead of Diesel 10 getting cornered by scrap, have him get cornered by buffers, and have the workmen in the smelters yard bombard him with buckets of hot metal and scrap. In the end, have Sir Topham Hatt send Diesel 10 away to another railway with his claw, Pintchy, removed. Thus, giving Diesel 10 a stronger defeat and punishment while still maintaining its little kid friendly direction.
Oh...my...GOD!!! THIS WAS AN AMAZING REWRITE!!! The story was amazing, the humour was top notch and everyone did such a terrific job playing their characters. Norman had a great arc in this movie and I expressed so many emotions just watching him and thats what made so spectacular!!! Wonderful job Nino, this was so worth waiting for. 👏👏👏👏
What can I say? Highlight of the year for the fandom. I loved the way it was filmed, with that cinematic quality. The voices were all spot on and were a massive improvement - the standout being whoever voiced Diesel 10 (that was the best D10 I've ever heard, better than Neil Crone and Matt Wilkinson). I have no idea how you will be able to top this, but I can't wait to see you at least try to! Thank you for letting me be a part of this marvellous cast!

I gotta say, this is much better than the original movie, and I love to see some of the old characters like Boco, Derek, Molly, Dennis, and Hector in this movie I wish that this happen in the CGI era, and I really like how Thomas and Rosie are paired up, in the first rescue,
Great rewrite! A lot of great things about this film. I love that Diesel 10 is deceitful, manipulative, and evil as his original character was intended to be. All of the original concepts in this special were also phenomenal. Norman experiencing prejudice by steam engines makes him so interesting and shows that the writers in the show really missed the potential of giving him a true backstory. Not to mention how the prejudice he experiences challenges the norm of the audience always seeing diesels bullying steam engines. Plus, I love that Norman is related to Dennis and was from the same railway as Diesel, along with Paxton and Sydney. The original movie brought these new Diesel characters out of nowhere, and so I appreciate the fact that you took the time to give each of them a purpose for being on Sodor and tying them into Diesel 10's plan. Another thing I loved about this rewrite was the ark Thomas has in opening up to diesels and going against his prejudice. Considering that Thomas has already matured a lot as a character, this was a brilliant way to show his true colors once again and the remaining flaws he has. How in the heat of the moment, he's still the impatient and impulsive engine he always was, and seeing him work around this flaw by learning to listen to Norman felt like a very real and pivotal moment in his character development. Additionally, Belle playing a huge role in uniting the diesels and steam engines was a great way to use her. Considering that she's looked up to as a firefighter--an engine with authority--having her display her level-headedness and play an active role in helping Paxton and Sydney warm up to steam engines could teach children the importance of such authority figures in real life and that children could truly look up to them. This special isn't without flaws though...there definitely were scenes that felt rushed. Particularly the scene where Norman all of a sudden lets Thomas off the hook, despite demonstrating a strong prejudice towards steam engines the whole time and being in on Diesel 10's plan. If the scene was drawn out for even just a few seconds longer, then maybe the sudden change in Norman's mindset would've felt more natural. Also, the scene where Diesel 10 dangles from the ledge and Thomas, Dennis and Norman all of a sudden decide to help him felt very rushed indeed. I think the scene would've been better if when Diesel 10 cries out for help, Norman outwardly says that he wouldn't help the "monster," only for Thomas to take a moment to realize the terrible fate Diesel 10 would be in, and consequently convince Norman to go back and help. Something I also noticed was how in the beginning of the special, Splatter talks about the financial struggles of the diesel works and how hard it is for him to access things such as new paintjobs (14:08). I understand that this was probably just a scene for gags, but I wished this wasn't completely forgotten about, and that perhaps at the ending of the special, the diesel works ended up getting renovations and new resources to support the diesels so that both the steam works and diesel works were up to the same standard. The last gripe I have with the special is that Topham letting Diesel 10 off the hook and allowing him to work on the railway didn't make sense to me at all. Diesel 10 should've been sent away to another railway or at least have his claw taken from him. And for Topham to remain silent after Diesel 10 said his final words in the special felt very odd. I feel that the ending of the special missed the opportunity to make Topham seem like a legit authority figure as Diesel 10 wasn't punished for his deceit and manipulation. Nonetheless, this was so much more thrilling than the snoozefest that is the actual DOTD movie. I could tell that a lot of time and effort went into the script, and for the most part I'd say that it certainly paid off in making a fantastic fan-made special.
Turning out great from the start! And with a perfect storyline, effects, and a full cast of voice actors/actresses, including @SilverBand7 himself as Diesel 10, this just keeps getting better and better!!! In Spongebob's words, It's the Best Day Ever!!!!!!!!!!
Now THIS is the slam dunk of a rewrite that DOTD needed. Even as a kid I hated this movie, but this is certainly an improvement. Also whoever did that Diesel 10 voice deserves a reward for doing such an amazing job with the character
Silver Band's voice for Diesel 10 is way better than Matt Wilkinson's voice for him! It's just like Keith Scott's Diesel 10 voice in the original workprint from Magic Railroad
This...is a true work of art. Barring a few goofs and a rushed scene or two, this is truly something special. The relationship between Dennis and Norman, Norman getting some great character development that the show neglected to give him, including Splodge (thus including them, Dennis and their "replacements" Paxton, Sidney and Norman), the hilarious names Sidney gave Mr. Percival, Diesel 10 being a genuine threat, the stakes being raised with the majority of the main cast out of commission, the friendly diesels standing alongside Thomas, auuugh, it's just so *GOOD!* Anything with Splodge in it is always a hoot. They arguably steal the show whenever they're around.
This is an epic rewrite to Day of the Diesels. Better then the original. You and everyone else involved in this have done a fantastic job on this. A marvelous job here. I can't wait to see what you and everyone else have in stores for us on this channel. Keep up the amazing work and take care!
this was honestly, the best rewrite movie of day of the diesels I've ever seen! way better than the original one, every voice actor and writers that helped out on this rewrite movie did a spectagular job. despite with a few bugs in some of the filming scene's you nino did a great job as well for making the scenes and making this rewrite movie possible. cheers to everyone that helped out in this rewrite movie. 😁👍
This is an instant rewrite right here. I love the storyline, some of the visuals like the sunset lighting and of course the wonderful voice performance from the cast. Nino, you and everyone working on this project did a fantastic job and I speak for many people that this 4 year work is undoubtedly worth it.
I just gotta say Norman’s arc in this movie rivals character arcs like Gordon’s RWS one or Thomas’ in the first five seasons it is seriously the best fan story arc ever done by a Thomas fan
Omg Nino, this has got to be one of the best fan-made movies from the TTTE fandom! Damn I actually prefer this over the original, this rewrite version feels just right! I love how you included Paxton, Norman, Sidney and the three diesels they replaced (Splatter, Dodge and Dennis) in one film. All the different kinds of diesels you’ve put in this movie helps shows us that no matter how they look, it’s their character and morals that counts, just like what Belle said. There’s only one diesel I wish to see in here and that’s Bear because he’s sadly never introduced in the TV series and this movie would be a nice opportunity to introduce Bear but I understand he can’t because I can’t see any important role he can play in this story. Regardless of that, this movie is still a fantastic and amazingly well put out! I love how you included the relationship between Norman and Dennis since the writers and producers from the original show neglected that. I love seeing how Dennis proves himself that he isn’t the lazy engine that he once was by helping Norman pull Diesel 10 away to set Thomas free. I love how you even fleshed out Norman’s character that the writers and producers failed to do so, you even got to give him a backstory that explains how he became devious as the others like how he was first portrayed in the original film, and I love the redemption he’s gotten. Norman and Dennis make a fantastic duo together! When I saw Spencer pulling out of Crovan’s Gate with a concerned look on his face after seeing what happened to Hiro, I can tell he must’ve known something was up and him managing to help Thomas escape from Diesel when he needed the help was a really good way to give Spencer a redemption arc! Preferring this to be canon to the original series, I was thinking of Diesel 10 to be sent away to the Mainland where he’ll never set foot on Sodor again or he should’ve been scrapped but that wouldn’t make sense because he later appeared in the Season 17 episode “The Missing Christmas Decorations”. Lastly, I love how you included the post-credits scene of Paxton with Skarloey and Rheneas where Paxton becomes the designated standard gauge engine of the Blue Mountain Quarry, and the part with Luke, foreshadowing the next movie after this, “Blue Mountain Mystery”. Nicely done! The people who voiced the characters, the writers, producers and editors? Every one of you, including Nino, have given such a MASTERPIECE!!! Thank you Nino and everyone who worked on this project, this is why I love the TTTE fandom so much because they’re so creative and there’s nothing they cannot do best! I grew up watching Thomas & Friends as a kid and it’s been a major part of my childhood and watching this rewrite version of “Day of the Diesels” was very much worth watching, highly recommended to watch in my opinion!

The storyline was WAY more intense from beginning to end!! Even some of the humor and references were top notch!! Everyone has done a fantastic job with all the incredible voice actors who done a great performance!! This movie is truly is one of the BEST ever since The Defenders of Sodor!! Now this movie rewrite of DOTD was better than I expected, the cast put on a brilliant performance for the characters! I liked the quality of this movie and the epic chase scenes. I also really liked how Thomas apologized to Paxton and Sidney about his rude humor about diesels since what happened in Misty Island Rescue and he just got away with it but in this movie he acknowledged about it when he found out they helped Belle. Definitely Recommend to this movie to anyone It was a phenomenal rewrite!
What's there to say? This was certainly a MASSIVE improvement from the original DOTD, it was even better than I expected (minus that one tiny immersion breaking goof and maybe some of the audio mastering lol). Your film making skills have gotten better and better through the years, and I'm glad to see all your work has finally paid off, I sure now that proud feeling of getting one of your passion projects done lol. Although I felt some scenes were a _bit_ violent for a TTTE fan adaptation, every scene felt like something out of the show, the voice actors really helped emulate that feeling. Overall, fantastic result of the project! And here's to more for future ones! Despite not making the cut, I'm happy to have helped during the early stages back in 2020, and I'm always happy to help for any future projects :)

That showed who Diesel 10 truly is,a Diesel Engine hungry for blood,and determined to destroy everything the Hatt Family build,Diesel 10 is not a scary cat and will not be told of by anyone,but the threat he made to TFC made one thing clear,that Diesel 10 will return to his evil deeds,and he will kill TFC and everyone he ever loved.
I just finished this and I was fully invested!! This is 100x better than the crap we got from Mattel! Having Diesel 10 being a full fledge villain out for blood is something they should’ve kept. The pacing was good and the story kept getting intense as it went on and had me on the edge of my seat thinking of different scenarios on how the ‘attacks’ would play out. I wish Mattel did something this dark-ish with the Three Big Engines crashing into each other, D10 trying to straight up murder and harm engines, and use the characters perfectly instead of having Thomas as the full main focus. You establish the characters well and they didn’t feel like they’re forced to be the center of attention. They worked out well as supporting characters and I love it. The only issue I had were the scenes where the engines’ voices were muffled was a bit hard to hear and understand what they were saying. Other than that, you and everyone else who worked on this project did a fantastic job within the 4 years of making it! I hope you guys create other awesome movies, both original or rewrites! 9.9/10
Absolutely fantastic stuff. This fits the universe so much more cleanly and explains nicely where Sidney, Paxton and Norman came from. I’m pretty sure you’d be able to improve all the movies like this easily!
Nino, what can I say? You’ve really outdone yourself here. The improvement from the last few versions is incredible, the visuals to me look amazing as well as the overall vision. The arc of Norman was brilliant, Brandon Littzi was incredible as him and definitely someone who’d I’d consider for future projects. Everyone else in the cast was perfect, can’t believe I got respire Splodge (and play Spencer). Splatter and Dodge are my two favourite characters to voice, I always have a lot of improv with them. 😂 To wrap up, I’m delighted to finally see this release to the public, well done once again and here’s to the future of Nino’s Productions!
Wow! That was just... PHENOMENAL!! I remember watching Day Of The Diesels when I first saw it back in 2011, and I was surprised that Percy had been the main character for a change. I didn't think the actual movie was bad 'cause it was nostalgic to me growing up with Thomas. But I was curious about Norman, Paxton, and Sidney, and why they haven't been properly introduced in the original series of the movie, and why they haven't been given any speaking roles to begin with. But these three diesel shunters have been well introduced in this rewrite and been given better character development. And to see Norman be the antagonist of the rewrite and be reunited with his brother Dennis, as he sees the error of his ways and learns to redeem himself in the end. I also liked that Splatter and Dodge have taken part in this DOTD rewrite as the dimwitted duo they still are from Thomas & The Magic Railroad. This rewrite was more thrilling and taught us all an important lesson about unity, regardless of differences! If only Ian McCue, Greg Tiernan, Sharon Miller, and the other writers of the original Day Of The Diesels can see this remake, and look back on what they could've done better with their movie! Bravo, Nino! Bravo!! 👏👏🚂🚃🚃🛤

THIS is what it should've been. the story was engaging and dynamic, the characters were completely in character and there was never a look-away moment! everyone involved in this production did an astounding job! i hope to see more stories like this in the future. very well done!!
Wow! I must say, what an fantastic rewrite! Simply incredible. All the action, conflicts, character moments, everything! I don't know where to start by surprises. This is how Day of the Diesels SHOULD be written and have Diesel 10 in proper evil character like in Magic Railroad and the best part is that he remains evil in the end upon defeat and leave though he could've easily being banished forever since that's a perfect punishment but no matter. It's like it was written by Andrew Brenner with his good writing instead. With Sidney's wheels broken, does that mean The Missing Christmas Decorations would be changed without Diesel 10 in it or something? I suppose you'II think of something for it later. You've done a great job on this masterpiece. Bravo, bravo. Nice post credit scene for Blue Mountain Mystery. Very unexpected. I give this 10 out of 10. Get it? (chuckles)
I got to listen to this movie last night on my way back from a meet-up but then I actually watched it last night as well. And while my thoughts on this are while there are a couple that do need improving this is one of the most awesome rewrites I've ever seen. I've heard that this movie's been getting a lot of flack from people for whatever reason but we all have to agree it is better than the original. Everyone has an ark Diesel 10 is frightening and it just feels so right. Everyone did a fantastic job on this project and you should feel proud of yourself man keep up the good work!
Well, Nino, after watching your rewrite for Day of the Diesels, I have to say that it was another great video you put together and the story was incredibly great as well with it revolving around Diesel 10's plan to get rid of all the steam engines after Diesel tells him that Sir Topham Hatt will be on holiday for the summer and it starts with the engines all getting in accidents, which then leads to Sydney, Paxton and Norman coming to the island while we also learn that Norman is Dennis' brother and after Thomas is unable to save his friends at the Dieselworks, he gets help from Belle and Flynn as well as all the other diesels such as Daisy, Mavis, Den, Dart, Derek and Boco and together, they are able to defeat Diesel 10 once and for all and he, Diesel, Arry and Bert and Splatter and Dodge all receive their punishments. Also, it was cool to see Rebecca make an appearance in the video, even if it was just a cameo in a flashback and I hope we see her appear again in Season 2 of your Thomas series and I don't know what you have to say on this, but I would like to see you do your version of this story I've watched a lot called The Tender where it revolves around Molly, Stanley and Neville working at Great Waterton with Molly and Stanley handling the passengers while Neville takes care of the goods work. And finally, it looks like you've got a rewrite of Blue Mountain Mystery in the works, which should be exciting. All-in-all, in the end, Nino, you and everybody involved did a great job with the rewrite for Day of the Diesels and I look forward to seeing what you have planned for us next, but let me hear what you have to say on my comment about The Tender, so great work and keep it up, bud!
Dude, this went so unbelievably hard. Any time Diesel 10 spoke, it sent chills down my spine. I love how in this he's actually menacing, and a threat (Rather than all "Hehe turntable fun") Also, Norman's story almost made me cry. And rarely do Thomas things make me cry.
The moment at 1:06:57 when Thomas yelled, it had me dying for some reason. Whoever voice acted Thomas did amazing with this part, sounding so genuine 🤣

This is everything that Day Of The Diesels should have been. Norman has more character than he ever did in the series, and the use of so many more characters from the TV series is a great addition. What stood out the most to me was the line by Belle at 1:09:40. It isn't anything super complicated, but we can learn from it. I hope many young people who watch this are able to learn from that line and apply it to their life. Everyone involved did a fantastic job.
I hope this video gets a million views. If this was the official cut of Day of the Diesels then it would be in my top 2 or even 1 favorite Thomas movies. Wonderful job to everyone involved!

This thing was amazing, WAY better than the original! Can’t wait for Calling All Engines, Magic Railroad, the blooba era episodes, Journey Beyond Sodor, Big World Big Adventures and Misty Island Rescue Rewrites. Surely if Day of The Diesels be written THIS GOOD, then Misty Island Rescue can be rewritten. One down… A LOT more to go. You have a lot of work to do, man! Give us the best rewritten Thomas films ever! Keep up the good work! I wanna know rather or not you have plans for something like this, because this was BRILLIANT!!! MATTLE, HIRE HIM!!! This was well done. Now up there as one of my favorite Thomas Fandom movies. This, Defenders of Sodor, Engines of Sodor finale, How Diesel 10 Stole Christmas and the Hawin Lake Horror series.
This was fantastic! It's everything I think DOTD should've been. It was something only the fans were able to do better than what Mattel gave us. It was darker, dealt more with tone, and of course, did an excellent job with the new characters and old ones. My only complaint despite how long it was is that there appears to be a mistake, which is seen at 1:03:30. That aside, this was worth the wait and makes me feel glad that even when T&F ended 4 years ago and AEG has since taken over, stuff like this makes me feel glad I still love the franchise even as I grow older as a fan.
On one hand, i’d love a reformed diesel 10. I want to see more of him and I want him to have stories revolving around him befriending steam engines. On the other hand, god I love ten being a genuine menacing villain. The idea that he could come back at any point with another evil, devious plan is great. There’s so much potential for him.

That was AMAZING!!!!! Absolutely worth the wait! Spoliers: Love the DOTD leaked footage reference at 1:21:21 and also the BMQ post credits scene too!!!! A great rewrite! 100/10
Now this was a MAJOR Improvement! It was done PERFECTLY! Even as a kid I hated the original, this was the treatment it should've gotten! I REALLY loved that you gave almost every character an appearance in some way! Even characters that don't show up much, like Hiro, Bertie, Duck, Donald and Douglas, Mavis, and Rosie! AMAZING job!
This shit, is insane, the fact that they managed to make Day of Diesels this dark and even forshadowed blue mountain mystery. This retake is historical, thank you Nino Productions, you made one of the worst movies into the greatest movie retakes of all times.
I will say this is a great rewrite of the movie! I prefer this version than the ordinal version. It was great to see some of the characters from both the classic and hit eras. I really do like Norman in this story, and I love how he is related to Dennis. I really do like having Splatter and Dodge in this movie and I really felt like they should have returned in the TV series and having them in this movie is perfect you can't have Diesel 10 without Splatter and Dodge. I did love Norman's backstory in this movie and finding out he was bullied was sad. I really do like Mr. Percival being in charge of the railway was a great idea. I would give this rewrite of the movie a 10/10.
Wow! This is definitely a 10/10… although thankfully not for devious deeds and brutal strength. This is definitely one of the best fan rewrites I’ve ever seen - while there were a couple of moments where I feel the pacing could have been ever so slightly improved, this was incredible. Norman’s arc is great and as usual, Splodge are gold! Congrats on taking on such a brilliant project!
The only, and I mean only issue I have is Thomas saying all diesels a bullies when he is friends with Mavis, Salty, Daisy and Rusty. Of course, that problem is still in the original movies that focus on Steamies vs Diesels. Everything else about this movie is incredibly well done and I just love how you brought back forgotten characters like Molly, Dennis, Neville, etc.
@@masterJ2004 True. I guess I’m just remembering Misty Island where it’s plagued with problems. One of which is Thomas being racist to Diesel saying Diesel will never be useful since he’s not a steam engine. That was just never touched on again in the movie and that’s just one of many problems.

Only 3/10 of The Steam Team and Duck and Oliver have had many fanmade and RWS stories about them being prejudice to diesels. We have "James and the diesel engines" in the RWS and "Oliver and the diesel engines" by The Jolly Mariner so I would like to see someone make a diesel engines RWS book arc with Thomas, Gordon and Duck one day.
I think the line about diesels could have been replaced with “Diesels who work for diesel 10 are all monsters” the line would work better or if a different character said it like Rosie who wasn’t in CAE

A marvelous rewrite of DOTD! This story was so much more fun to listen to along with the stunning visuals. There were some very good dynamic shots and striking camera angles. Norman was also a pleasant surprise. Making him a bigger role in the story was an interesting take and I love his dynamic with Dennis, Paxton, Diesel & Thomas. It's so great to see the cast of characters extended so far, instead of only having the steam team. Fun cameos and great use of secondary characters too! A bit sad Percy's role was a bit reduced, but still very enjoyable to see him in action along with Thomas, Toby and Belle. I do think some of the transitions and pacing are a bit too quick sometimes, especially the fade to black ones. I advice to let them draw out just a bit longer to let the viewer have some time to take in what happened, before cutting to the next scene. Other than some polishing, you've made an excellent job with this! Well done Nino & everyone involved! Jolly Good Show!👍👍👍
I had my eyes glued the screen the whole time I was watching, not only do I love this I love the voice acting, animating, sound effects, and the story and this was so worth the wait!
SPOILERS! This was the best recreation I've ever seen! This out beats the original like a long shot. From Belle arriving on Sodor properly, Thomas being in character, and not leaving his best friend behind for Belle, Norman, Paxton, and Sideny actually having roles, Diesel 10 not being afraid of Sir Topham Hatt, etc. Splatter, Dodge, and Dennis were a massive surprise! Thanks Nino for this awesome movie, and to the others for helping this become the masterpiece that it is! Those four years really paid off, because this was just pure perfection!
Thomas leaving Percy behind was not really his fault, Percy was just an idiotic crybaby just because Thomas wasn't wrapped round him every goddamn second of the day, just HORRIBLE writing that does not work in ANY way long story short. Glad to see it finally rectified here though!
I knew Dennis is on the protagonist side! He's not a really lazy engine and proves his own brother, Norman that he's a different engine. I'm proud of him for helping Thomas and Norman to stop Diesel 10
While there are things I don't like so much, what I love the most is how you didn't delete any characters but just rewrote them and that's actually clever.
All I can say is. This. Is. Epic! Extremely well-written, models are superb and were it not for a few tiny goofs here and there trainz caused, I'd have thought this was genuine CGI! Well done to all involved. This is what puts the Thomas fandom in the spotlight when we as fans come together to make something great. Truly, there is nothing like it, anywhere.

Norman has such a backstory here, that it puts his time in the show to so much shame. I love how you used 11001's real history to your fullest potential, his shift felt natural, and the chase was perfect! Best character in the movie by far! This definitely felt like a complete production, with all the crashes, fun character momenta, and Thomas being a peak main! 10/10!

Now “THIS” is how Day of the Diesel’s should be. The rich darkness of dieselization, scrapping steam motive power, something HIT entertainment foolishly refused to incorporate.
And instead, they seemingly thought bad writing as a good substitute for that
Not to mention creative action sequences, the return of old diesel characters from the past, complex character development and character arc, and introducing new characters Belle and Flynn properly and giving Belle a bigger role in the film. This movie should've been rated PG (for Intense Sequences of Peril and Action with Scary Images).
However, I do wish Diesel 10's defeat was more stronger. Instead of Diesel 10 getting cornered by scrap, have him get cornered by buffers, and have the workmen in the smelters yard bombard him with buckets of hot metal and scrap. In the end, have Sir Topham Hatt send Diesel 10 away to another railway with his claw, Pintchy, removed. Thus, giving Diesel 10 a stronger defeat and punishment while still maintaining its little kid friendly direction.
Oh...my...GOD!!! THIS WAS AN AMAZING REWRITE!!! The story was amazing, the humour was top notch and everyone did such a terrific job playing their characters. Norman had a great arc in this movie and I expressed so many emotions just watching him and thats what made so spectacular!!!

I gotta say, this is much better than the original movie, and I love to see some of the old characters like Boco, Derek, Molly, Dennis, and Hector in this movie I wish that this happen in the CGI era, and I really like how Thomas and Rosie are paired up, in the first rescue,
Great rewrite! A lot of great things about this film. I love that Diesel 10 is deceitful, manipulative, and evil as his original character was intended to be. All of the original concepts in this special were also phenomenal. Norman experiencing prejudice by steam engines makes him so interesting and shows that the writers in the show really missed the potential of giving him a true backstory. Not to mention how the prejudice he experiences challenges the norm of the audience always seeing diesels bullying steam engines. Plus, I love that Norman is related to Dennis and was from the same railway as Diesel, along with Paxton and Sydney. The original movie brought these new Diesel characters out of nowhere, and so I appreciate the fact that you took the time to give each of them a purpose for being on Sodor and tying them into Diesel 10's plan.
Another thing I loved about this rewrite was the ark Thomas has in opening up to diesels and going against his prejudice. Considering that Thomas has already matured a lot as a character, this was a brilliant way to show his true colors once again and the remaining flaws he has. How in the heat of the moment, he's still the impatient and impulsive engine he always was, and seeing him work around this flaw by learning to listen to Norman felt like a very real and pivotal moment in his character development. Additionally, Belle playing a huge role in uniting the diesels and steam engines was a great way to use her. Considering that she's looked up to as a firefighter--an engine with authority--having her display her level-headedness and play an active role in helping Paxton and Sydney warm up to steam engines could teach children the importance of such authority figures in real life and that children could truly look up to them.
This special isn't without flaws though...there definitely were scenes that felt rushed. Particularly the scene where Norman all of a sudden lets Thomas off the hook, despite demonstrating a strong prejudice towards steam engines the whole time and being in on Diesel 10's plan. If the scene was drawn out for even just a few seconds longer, then maybe the sudden change in Norman's mindset would've felt more natural. Also, the scene where Diesel 10 dangles from the ledge and Thomas, Dennis and Norman all of a sudden decide to help him felt very rushed indeed. I think the scene would've been better if when Diesel 10 cries out for help, Norman outwardly says that he wouldn't help the "monster," only for Thomas to take a moment to realize the terrible fate Diesel 10 would be in, and consequently convince Norman to go back and help.
Something I also noticed was how in the beginning of the special, Splatter talks about the financial struggles of the diesel works and how hard it is for him to access things such as new paintjobs (14:08). I understand that this was probably just a scene for gags, but I wished this wasn't completely forgotten about, and that perhaps at the ending of the special, the diesel works ended up getting renovations and new resources to support the diesels so that both the steam works and diesel works were up to the same standard. The last gripe I have with the special is that Topham letting Diesel 10 off the hook and allowing him to work on the railway didn't make sense to me at all. Diesel 10 should've been sent away to another railway or at least have his claw taken from him. And for Topham to remain silent after Diesel 10 said his final words in the special felt very odd. I feel that the ending of the special missed the opportunity to make Topham seem like a legit authority figure as Diesel 10 wasn't punished for his deceit and manipulation.
Nonetheless, this was so much more thrilling than the snoozefest that is the actual DOTD movie. I could tell that a lot of time and effort went into the script, and for the most part I'd say that it certainly paid off in making a fantastic fan-made special.

This...is a true work of art. Barring a few goofs and a rushed scene or two, this is truly something special.
The relationship between Dennis and Norman, Norman getting some great character development that the show neglected to give him, including Splodge (thus including them, Dennis and their "replacements" Paxton, Sidney and Norman), the hilarious names Sidney gave Mr. Percival, Diesel 10 being a genuine threat, the stakes being raised with the majority of the main cast out of commission, the friendly diesels standing alongside Thomas, auuugh, it's just so *GOOD!*
Anything with Splodge in it is always a hoot. They arguably steal the show whenever they're around.

This is an instant rewrite right here. I love the storyline, some of the visuals like the sunset lighting and of course the wonderful voice performance from the cast. Nino, you and everyone working on this project did a fantastic job and I speak for many people that this 4 year work is undoubtedly worth it.
I just gotta say Norman’s arc in this movie rivals character arcs like Gordon’s RWS one or Thomas’ in the first five seasons it is seriously the best fan story arc ever done by a Thomas fan

Omg Nino, this has got to be one of the best fan-made movies from the TTTE fandom! Damn I actually prefer this over the original, this rewrite version feels just right! I love how you included Paxton, Norman, Sidney and the three diesels they replaced (Splatter, Dodge and Dennis) in one film. All the different kinds of diesels you’ve put in this movie helps shows us that no matter how they look, it’s their character and morals that counts, just like what Belle said. There’s only one diesel I wish to see in here and that’s Bear because he’s sadly never introduced in the TV series and this movie would be a nice opportunity to introduce Bear but I understand he can’t because I can’t see any important role he can play in this story. Regardless of that, this movie is still a fantastic and amazingly well put out!

Norman and Dennis make a fantastic duo together!
When I saw Spencer pulling out of Crovan’s Gate with a concerned look on his face after seeing what happened to Hiro, I can tell he must’ve known something was up and him managing to help Thomas escape from Diesel when he needed the help was a really good way to give Spencer a redemption arc!
Preferring this to be canon to the original series, I was thinking of Diesel 10 to be sent away to the Mainland where he’ll never set foot on Sodor again or he should’ve been scrapped but that wouldn’t make sense because he later appeared in the Season 17 episode “The Missing Christmas Decorations”.
Lastly, I love how you included the post-credits scene of Paxton with Skarloey and Rheneas where Paxton becomes the designated standard gauge engine of the Blue Mountain Quarry, and the part with Luke, foreshadowing the next movie after this, “Blue Mountain Mystery”. Nicely done!
The people who voiced the characters, the writers, producers and editors? Every one of you, including Nino, have given such a MASTERPIECE!!! Now this movie rewrite of DOTD was better than I expected, the cast put on a brilliant performance for the characters! I liked the quality of this movie and the epic chase scenes.
I also really liked how Thomas apologized to Paxton and Sidney about his rude humor about diesels since what happened in Misty Island Rescue and he just got away with it but in this movie he acknowledged about it when he found out they helped Belle.
Definitely Recommend to this movie to anyone It was a phenomenal rewrite!

This was certainly a MASSIVE improvement from the original DOTD, it was even better than I expected (minus that one tiny immersion breaking goof and maybe some of the audio mastering lol). Your film making skills have gotten better and better through the years, and I'm glad to see all your work has finally paid off, I sure now that proud feeling of getting one of your passion projects done lol. Although I felt some scenes were a _bit_ violent for a TTTE fan adaptation, every scene felt like something out of the show, the voice actors really helped emulate that feeling. Overall, fantastic result of the project! And here's to more for future ones!

I just finished this and I was fully invested!! This is 100x better than the crap we got from Mattel! Having Diesel 10 being a full fledge villain out for blood is something they should’ve kept. The pacing was good and the story kept getting intense as it went on and had me on the edge of my seat thinking of different scenarios on how the ‘attacks’ would play out. I wish Mattel did something this dark-ish with the Three Big Engines crashing into each other, D10 trying to straight up murder and harm engines, and use the characters perfectly instead of having Thomas as the full main focus. You establish the characters well and they didn’t feel like they’re forced to be the center of attention. They worked out well as supporting characters and I love it. The only issue I had were the scenes where the engines’ voices were muffled was a bit hard to hear and understand what they were saying. Other than that, you and everyone else who worked on this project did a fantastic job within the 4 years of making it! I hope you guys create other awesome movies, both original or rewrites! 9.9/10

The arc of Norman was brilliant, Brandon Littzi was incredible as him and definitely someone who’d I’d consider for future projects.
Everyone else in the cast was perfect, can’t believe I got respire Splodge (and play Spencer). Splatter and Dodge are my two favourite characters to voice, I always have a lot of improv with them. 😂

Wow! That was just... PHENOMENAL!! I remember watching Day Of The Diesels when I first saw it back in 2011, and I was surprised that Percy had been the main character for a change. I didn't think the actual movie was bad 'cause it was nostalgic to me growing up with Thomas. But I was curious about Norman, Paxton, and Sidney, and why they haven't been properly introduced in the original series of the movie, and why they haven't been given any speaking roles to begin with. But these three diesel shunters have been well introduced in this rewrite and been given better character development. And to see Norman be the antagonist of the rewrite and be reunited with his brother Dennis, as he sees the error of his ways and learns to redeem himself in the end. I also liked that Splatter and Dodge have taken part in this DOTD rewrite as the dimwitted duo they still are from Thomas & The Magic Railroad. This rewrite was more thrilling and taught us all an important lesson about unity, regardless of differences! If only Ian McCue, Greg Tiernan, Sharon Miller, and the other writers of the original Day Of The Diesels can see this remake, and look back on what they could've done better with their movie! Bravo, Nino! Bravo!! 👏👏🚂🚃🚃🛤

Wow! I must say, what an fantastic rewrite! Simply incredible. All the action, conflicts, character moments, everything! I don't know where to start by surprises. This is how Day of the Diesels SHOULD be written and have Diesel 10 in proper evil character like in Magic Railroad and the best part is that he remains evil in the end upon defeat and leave though he could've easily being banished forever since that's a perfect punishment but no matter. It's like it was written by Andrew Brenner with his good writing instead. With Sidney's wheels broken, does that mean The Missing Christmas Decorations would be changed without Diesel 10 in it or something? I suppose you'II think of something for it later. I got to listen to this movie last night on my way back from a meet-up but then I actually watched it last night as well. And while my thoughts on this are while there are a couple that do need improving this is one of the most awesome rewrites I've ever seen. I've heard that this movie's been getting a lot of flack from people for whatever reason but we all have to agree it is better than the original. Everyone has an ark Diesel 10 is frightening and it just feels so right. Everyone did a fantastic job on this project and you should feel proud of yourself man keep up the good work!

Well, Nino, after watching your rewrite for Day of the Diesels, I have to say that it was another great video you put together and the story was incredibly great as well with it revolving around Diesel 10's plan to get rid of all the steam engines after Diesel tells him that Sir Topham Hatt will be on holiday for the summer and it starts with the engines all getting in accidents, which then leads to Sydney, Paxton and Norman coming to the island while we also learn that Norman is Dennis' brother and after Thomas is unable to save his friends at the Dieselworks, he gets help from Belle and Flynn as well as all the other diesels such as Daisy, Mavis, Den, Dart, Derek and Boco and together, they are able to defeat Diesel 10 once and for all and he, Diesel, Arry and Bert and Splatter and Dodge all receive their punishments. Also, it was cool to see Rebecca make an appearance in the video, even if it was just a cameo in a flashback and I hope we see her appear again in Season 2 of your Thomas series and I don't know what you have to say on this, but I would like to see you do your version of this story I've watched a lot called The Tender where it revolves around Molly, Stanley and Neville working at Great Waterton with Molly and Stanley handling the passengers while Neville takes care of the goods work. And finally, it looks like you've got a rewrite of Blue Mountain Mystery in the works, which should be exciting. All-in-all, in the end, Nino, you and everybody involved did a great job with the rewrite for Day of the Diesels and I look forward to seeing what you have planned for us next, but let me hear what you have to say on my comment about The Tender, so great work and keep it up, bud!
Dude, this went so unbelievably hard. Any time Diesel 10 spoke, it sent chills down my spine. I love how in this he's actually menacing, and a threat (Rather than all "Hehe turntable fun") Also, Norman's story almost made me cry. And rarely do Thomas things make me cry.
The moment at 1:06:57 when Thomas yelled, it had me dying for some reason. Whoever voice acted Thomas did amazing with this part, sounding so genuine 🤣

A very well done rewrite, and while there were a few technical hiccups that drew me out of the story a bit overall this video was amazingly crafted
Outstanding work! Love Dennis and Norman’s dynamic, and especially the scene at the end with a cliffhanger leading to BMM, so much better than the original!
This is everything that Day Of The Diesels should have been. Norman has more character than he ever did in the series, and the use of so many more characters from the TV series is a great addition. What stood out the most to me was the line by Belle at 1:09:40. It isn't anything super complicated, but we can learn from it. I hope many young people who watch this are able to learn from that line and apply it to their life. Everyone involved did a fantastic job.
I hope this video gets a million views. If this was the official cut of Day of the Diesels then it would be in my top 2 or even 1 favorite Thomas movies. Wonderful job to everyone involved!

This thing was amazing, WAY better than the original! Can’t wait for Calling All Engines, Magic Railroad, the blooba era episodes, Journey Beyond Sodor, Big World Big Adventures and Misty Island Rescue Rewrites. Surely if Day of The Diesels be written THIS GOOD, then Misty Island Rescue can be rewritten. One down… A LOT more to go. You have a lot of work to do, man! This was well done. Now up there as one of my favorite Thomas Fandom movies. This, Defenders of Sodor, Engines of Sodor finale, How Diesel 10 Stole Christmas and the Hawin Lake Horror series.
This was fantastic! It's everything I think DOTD should've been. It was something only the fans were able to do better than what Mattel gave us. It was darker, dealt more with tone, and of course, did an excellent job with the new characters and old ones. My only complaint despite how long it was is that there appears to be a mistake, which is seen at 1:03:30. That aside, this was worth the wait and makes me feel glad that even when T&F ended 4 years ago and AEG has since taken over, stuff like this makes me feel glad I still love the franchise even as I grow older as a fan.
On one hand, i’d love a reformed diesel 10. I want to see more of him and I want him to have stories revolving around him befriending steam engines. On the other hand, god I love ten being a genuine menacing villain. The idea that he could come back at any point with another evil, devious plan is great. There’s so much potential for him.

D199 actually had some official toys which implied he existed in the TVS continuity while Bear didn't so that's my guess as to why he wasn't in here.

Now this was a MAJOR Improvement! It was done PERFECTLY! Even as a kid I hated the original, this was the treatment it should've gotten! I REALLY loved that you gave almost every character an appearance in some way! Even characters that don't show up much, like Hiro, Bertie, Duck, Donald and Douglas, Mavis, and Rosie! AMAZING job!
This shit, is insane, the fact that they managed to make Day of Diesels this dark and even forshadowed blue mountain mystery. This retake is historical, thank you Nino Productions, you made one of the worst movies into the greatest movie retakes of all times.

I love Thomas’ heroism & leadership plus Toby’s fearlessness in this rewrite.
I will say this is a great rewrite of the movie! I prefer this version than the ordinal version. It was great to see some of the characters from both the classic and hit eras. I really do like Norman in this story, and I love how he is related to Dennis. I really do like having Splatter and Dodge in this movie and I really felt like they should have returned in the TV series and having them in this movie is perfect you can't have Diesel 10 without Splatter and Dodge. I did love Norman's backstory in this movie and finding out he was bullied was sad. I really do like Mr. Percival being in charge of the railway was a great idea. I would give this rewrite of the movie a 10/10.
Wow! This is definitely a 10/10… although thankfully not for devious deeds and brutal strength. This is definitely one of the best fan rewrites I’ve ever seen - while there were a couple of moments where I feel the pacing could have been ever so slightly improved, this was incredible. Norman’s arc is great and as usual, Splodge are gold!

The only, and I mean only issue I have is Thomas saying all diesels a bullies when he is friends with Mavis, Salty, Daisy and Rusty.
Of course, that problem is still in the original movies that focus on Steamies vs Diesels.
Everything else about this movie is incredibly well done and I just love how you brought back forgotten characters like Molly, Dennis, Neville, etc.

@@masterJ2004 True. I guess I’m just remembering Misty Island where it’s plagued with problems. One of which is Thomas being racist to Diesel saying Diesel will never be useful since he’s not a steam engine. That was just never touched on again in the movie and that’s just one of many problems.

Only 3/10 of The Steam Team and Duck and Oliver have had many fanmade and RWS stories about them being prejudice to diesels.
We have "James and the diesel engines" in the RWS and "Oliver and the diesel engines" by The Jolly Mariner so I would like to see someone make a diesel engines RWS book arc with Thomas, Gordon and Duck one day.
I think the line about diesels could have been replaced with “Diesels who work for diesel 10 are all monsters” the line would work better or if a different character said it like Rosie who wasn’t in CAE

A marvelous rewrite of DOTD! This story was so much more fun to listen to along with the stunning visuals. There were some very good dynamic shots and striking camera angles.
Norman was also a pleasant surprise. Making him a bigger role in the story was an interesting take and I love his dynamic with Dennis, Paxton, Diesel & Thomas.
It's so great to see the cast of characters extended so far, instead of only having the steam team. Fun cameos and great use of secondary characters too! A bit sad Percy's role was a bit reduced, but still very enjoyable to see him in action along with Thomas, Toby and Belle.
I do think some of the transitions and pacing are a bit too quick sometimes, especially the fade to black ones. I advice to let them draw out just a bit longer to let the viewer have some time to take in what happened, before cutting to the next scene.
Other than some polishing, you've made an excellent job with this! Well done Nino & everyone involved! Jolly Good Show!👍👍👍
I had my eyes glued the screen the whole time I was watching, not only do I love this I love the voice acting, animating, sound effects, and the story and this was so worth the wait!

This was the best recreation I've ever seen! This out beats the original like a long shot. From Belle arriving on Sodor properly, Thomas being in character, and not leaving his best friend behind for Belle, Norman, Paxton, and Sideny actually having roles, Diesel 10 not being afraid of Sir Topham Hatt, etc. Splatter, Dodge, and Dennis were a massive surprise! Thanks Nino for this awesome movie, and to the others for helping this become the masterpiece that it is! Those four years really paid off, because this was just pure perfection!
Thomas leaving Percy behind was not really his fault, Percy was just an idiotic crybaby just because Thomas wasn't wrapped round him every goddamn second of the day, just HORRIBLE writing that does not work in ANY way long story short. Glad to see it finally rectified here though!
I knew Dennis is on the protagonist side! He's not a really lazy engine and proves his own brother, Norman that he's a different engine. I'm proud of him for helping Thomas and Norman to stop Diesel 10
Splatter and Dodge mentioning Tayllyan was kinda cool
While there are things I don't like so much, what I love the most is how you didn't delete any characters but just rewrote them and that's actually clever.
There were a few audio and editorial errors, but it was a grand rewrite, indeed.
(Also, it's always a joy seeing Silver Band voicing Diesel 10.)
All I can say is. This. Is. Epic! Extremely well-written, models are superb and were it not for a few tiny goofs here and there trainz caused, I'd have thought this was genuine CGI! Well done to all involved. This is what puts the Thomas fandom in the spotlight when we as fans come together to make something great. Truly, there is nothing like it, anywhere.
