Sean - before upping the power you may want to consider getting it on track a few times and really become familiar with its driving dynamics. The Atom is a tricky car to drive fast and adding more power is just going to make it that much harder. It’s a short wheel base and very rear weight biased with high power to weight ratio. So its prone to understeer, snap oversteer when off throttle (engine is like a weighted pendulum) and power oversteer when on throttle. Could it get any worse? Just about everyone spins them at first, until they learn its peculiarities. The front wing will do nothing in slow corners, where it understeers the worst but should add some downforce in high speed ones. My first few times driving my SRA were an adventure but once you get it figured out, its a proper track weapon. Cheers.
Have watched all of your Atom videos today. I'm officially hooked! I want one so bad. Just sold my last project car (700 whp Porsche 911 turbo) and I'm ready for something else. Would also love an old Viper GTS, that was absolutely my childhood dream car. Drove a 2005 and wasn't super enthused about the performance. But you certainly can't beat a Viper in the visual shock factor. Thanks for the great videos and info!

@@JV220 Pretty sure its a honda or chevy 4cyl in his. They also have a v8 but I doubt this atom has that. They used turbo k20/k24 engines and a turbo chevy ecotec 2.4l turbo engine. Pushing anywhere from like 365hp to 425.

Cheater slicks on the back would get the 0-60 down a lot, but you might need some drag bars(wheelie bars), to keep that helmet shiny. That thing should hit mid-low 2's if it hooks up, like a drag bike.

Great project Atom, great channel too. Once you figure out the indicators the atom is pretty safe :D Also try launching it in second gear, loads quicker. Ive got a few vids of mine round the ring etc ZERO understeer ever! Maybe try some stickier tyres with a new alignment, then take it to the track, your mind will be blown!
Bikes and Beards r888r is ok but fairly a generic r compound, you can get a lot better suited tyre for a light weight car. Kumho v70a, supersoft for the front and soft/medium rear. Even better would be the Avon ZZR, ridiculously soft and come with loads of tread, they’re the best I’ve tried soo far overall and I’ve tried em all!

In the US civil engineering projects are never straightforward or timely. There never seems to be deadlines in the contracts and it's always the lowest bidder, hiring the fewest workers. Oh and don't forget the paperwork like environmental impact studies to make sure we don't make the little spotted owls all mad.

Or the latter is the plain stupidity or laziness that our popular culture assumes in jokes about government workers.

Hey have you thought about running a supercharger? I think they make one oversea's with a type R honda motor and if i'm not mistaken its supercharged? i might be wrong about this but i think you could get away with a belt fed supercharger & you would get well over 80 hp and the amount of torque gained for something that light would be a big improvement ( I would think)

It definitely does. It generally settles a car as well. The atom has no weight over the front so lacks bite; this is exaggerated by the front tyres staying cold long after you warm up the rears. If you really get the fronts warm it def cuts the oversteer a lot. The f-wing helps
It did not fix my 5th gear issue but I’ve got the feel of it a little better and have managed to get it in 5th quickly about half the time. So I’m working on it.

Not fast enough? The original Ariel Atom had one of the top times on the Top Gear track from that season, beating out many supercars. I guess if you live in a place with straight roads then it might be considered slow but on the track it'd whip most cars, even the supercars.
You need to buy the skully helmet, or another smart helmet and do a review on one. I wanna know if it’s worth it lol, and you look like you could use a helmet upgrade you’ve had that for a while

A harley dealer cant have a 3k roadstar in his showroom so it gets dumped at auction for the 1800 he has in it for people like shaun to deal with. Thats literally burning money, service work pays the bills properly in a shop. What do you do for a living? Do you employ anyone or have a successful business which is also your passion? Do you also run a successful and growing TH-cam channel? Why be so negative? How do you know they don't service their own vehicles? We've seen them clean carbs etc. I'm sure he's well able to go about a basic service, oil, plugs and filters. Maybe he's too busy?? Check alignment, toe adjustment will cause oversteer. Camber should be slightly negative.

Taller shift knob might be a quicker fix than a longer shaft for your shifter

Vette 650hp weights 3300lb, the atom 240hp weights 1400lbs

If you install them correctly they should be able to carry around 200 kilos a thread

Not with the same pivot point surely. Longer gear lever = longer throw.

Their repair work so make sod all on bikes with problems and are basically a discount clearing house for stuff the dealers take on trade because they HAVE to offer trade in because the market expects a dealer to take their 3k 28k mile pile on their new 19k bike. A harley dealer cant have a 3k roadstar in his showroom so it gets dumped at auction for the 1800 he has in it for people like shaun to deal with.
Dudes a step up from the guys doing the same thing from home because he has a decent work ethic, some money backing him and he got a decent hookup into the auctions.
He doesnt do service work.... Thats literally burning money, service work pays the bills properly in a shop. He claims to be all about the hustle, look how many viideos he is in over his head with bikes that have title issues, money he loses on repair work.
Its not a criticism that all he is is a flipper dealing with the shit its not worth the dealers time to sell. The industry needs that kind of. Thing but walking round like Hes some bigshot with his 125k in toys and buying 35 400-1000$ bikes at a time is ludicrous.
@@jediknight1294 So they provide a steady stream of business to their local mechanic which in turn helps out the economy, he employs like 2-3 guys selling his bikes, the gloves and the tank straps and whatever else they sell? He's selling on Amazon and TH-cam basically free advertising all his stuff, which most dealers aren't doing, so he's doing new modern tactics which is pretty entrepreneurial. What do you do for a living? Do you employ anyone or have a successful business which is also your passion? Do you also run a successful and growing TH-cam channel? Why be so negative? How do you know they don't service their own vehicles? We've seen them clean carbs etc. I'm sure he's well able to go about a basic service, oil, plugs and filters. Maybe he's too busy?? How does he go around acting like a big shot? Because of all the flashy expensive suits/clothes he wears? Literally every single job or business could be dumbed down like you've said and made sound crap. "Oh you own a local grocery store?" "So you just buy cheap crap food from wholesalers and sell it on for more expensive than Walmart does but you employ 2-3 guys locally and support your local delivery business? You're just a guy flipping packaged food"
You should host a bike / hot rod night at your shop. It would be a lot of fun get to know other Motörhead’s around Lancaster and it would be on private property the cops couldn’t break it up!
