@troy17981 ambitious, maybe, but also pretty dumb if you're competing & have a deadline. You really need to start with a running bike or at least a bike that you have a good idea on what needs to be fixed to get it running.
To be honest an old skool scrapyard/madmax looking rat rod bike with a bunch of rusted and clear sealed parts contrasting the smokey/melted burnt plastic would look really cool. Embrace the misfortune this bike had and make it its central feature. Maybe add some carbonized wood inlay on some features or heavily distressed leather. You may have to take some of the parts that would get hot and potentially do a controlled charring/heating again to finish burning off all the VOCs. Once the plastic is mostly carbon it'll be fine with heat, you just need to then stabilize it, so it doesn't crack and fall off.
Jesse James is too much a stickler for detail. Instead of buying a cheap OEM bracket, he will either hammer it out on a blacksmith's forge or mill it from a billet on a CNC machine. He would go way over budget.

Having driven quite a few Cobras over the years, from an early 4.2L (260 cu.in) Mk.1, through an Autocraft Mk.4 with Chevvy 6L small block, to a Lubinsky (made in South Africa) Mk5+ with a 6.5L Roush engine. My thought is that for Cobras, less is generally more. Our 1965 UK built Mk.2 is the nicest best balanced Cobra I have driven, with a 289 Windsor Ford engine with a single 4 barrel Carter putting out a bit less than 300 BHP but with a very light body, giving an all up dry weight of 916kg (just over 2000lbs). No power steering required, which is therefore very direct and full of feel. The only mod from standard is replacing the 4 speed box with a 5 speed Tremec.

I'll trade you that kit car for my 1998 Golf GTD, it's really fast and gives great fuel milage. It's equipped with sunroof, tow hook, and weight saving oxide at the bottom of the doors. The colour is mainly green but with red fenders and hood as a result of a collision on the autobahn a couple of years ago. I also applied cool side stripes for speed.
It'd look super cool to use UTV parts on that bike. Do some sketchy paint work and make it sorta hodgepodge. I think having the two headlights and tail lights would make it look sorta futuristic while still meeting a kind of burnt dystopian vibe. Super wide, super chunky, super angular. Hopefully not too tough.🙃 I forget if you have an aesthetic plan yet though.
I know there are always differences of opinion on the internet. There is literally nothing negative about this. It's an adventure/trial to overcome. I challenge any of you to go outside of your comfort zone, accept a challenge like this, and follow through to completion. There is nothing wrong with challenging yourself in life and he is making a living doing it. I personally can't wait to see how he overcomes the issues he runs into by selecting this bike for a challenge to simply see if he could do it with a more challenging start between all 3. As human beings, this is where we need to support and encourage others. Not tear them down while taking on their own personal challenges in life. I believe we should be better. Just my opinion.

That dip in performance could be from the exhaust. Something about exhaust back pressure and rpm can cause a dip when the rpm and back pressure frequency match up so you get the wave rushing toward the valve as it opens opposed to it going away and drawing out the gases. disconnect...reconnect...test fire...nope...wash that idea away...let's try this...dang it...but closer...wash away the bad...try again...OH THAT SWEET SOUND OF A MOTORCYCLE CRANKING OVER!!!!!! My wife will never understand how sitting and listening to the engine I got to start and run is pure heaven. One thing I have learned is to go with old school bikes less electronics. Neutral safety switch...BAH. Tip over fuel cut off...BAH...
Looks better then anything OCC built. You got this in the bag. 😂
Mr. Beard make sure you use your AIRBOX or at least the rubber velocity stacks out of the inside of the airbox. The bike WONT run right if you run open stacks....trust me on that it will run lean and give you issues .....
Good luck
It’s a Triumph by Fire bike!
A test of one's abilities to perform well under pressure.
The burnt patina is gonna be very unique and awesome!
I am so jealous about the Cobra. That is the car I have always dreamed about having.
Congratulations on the bike and the car, badass! Love y’all and God bless❤
The kit car is pretty nicely done!
Honestly bro, you have some of the best commentary on TH-cam. Love it keep it going. I still think you have OCD though
That’s my dream car!! Wow!! Very very COOOOL!! 🤯
Shaun please do something with the miss Geico RC boat in the shop. Do a build or repair series to see it running. I think you'd be surprised as to how satisfying working on rc can be
That dip in performance could be from the exhaust. Something about exhaust back pressure and rpm can cause a dip when the rpm and back pressure frequency match up so you get the wave rushing toward the valve as it opens opposed to it going away and drawing out the gases. Maybe, not sure, lol didn’t pay much attention to high performance tuning stuff.
Vacuum lifted carbs usually run worse without an airbox. Worth to take into consideration
That little dip in your torque curve is from the exhaust setup.
That's a nice Mazda one of the best I've seen 😂
My 07 America is very cold natured, can’t give it full throttle till warmed up. Your bike sounds great.
That is the best looking Miata I've ever seen!
