- Here’s the fourth song, “ Tuj magato me ata”, originally sung by the great Lataji, written by R B Somayyaji and composed by Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar. A happy ganeshotsav to all of you. I will try and post one song everyday till Anant chaturdashi. Ganapati Bappa Moraya !
I was driving from Dallas TX to Austin TX and kept this song in the loop for an hour.. when I changed the song my Mexican American friend wanted me to keep continue playing the same song... This is when emotions in the voice are beyond its deep meaning lyrics.

This song reminds me my childhood days.... And I miss my dad after listening this...who passed away in 2016... He used to play these bhakti geet songs in the morning....He used to stand in balcony and listen to it.... That morning vibe...our old home of Dombivli (that building gone under reconstruction missing that place and people)... We as kids... Smell of tea.... Now what I can only do is... Listen and re-live those memories.... Can't have all those things back at any point of life.... Miss u pappa❤️

I'm a gujrati however born and brought up in Mumbai and around the Maharashtrian culture I came across this song. After listening to the song so many times and experiencing each and every line slowly, the one thing I could notice between both the versions is that when you sing just purely by devotion, when you have no regard for sur itself, you want to savor each and every note, line, and the nitigrities slowly. It seems as if you'd never want to stop, never want to end and let the experience go on.
