    Helllooo! Welcome home Mr & Mrs. So lovely to see you again. I'm sorry that some peeps didn't enjoy your travel vlogs so much. We loved them but think that taking a break for your wedding and a holiday was a good idea anyway.
    Your frying pan, try putting it in the sink with washing up liquid and then filling it with boiling water and leaving it for a whil & then scrub, I find that moves any stains from my metal pans.
    Your boat is so beautiful and homely, one little tip for helping to keep it a little cooler - line your curtains with black out material. It helps keep quite a lot of the heat out. Best wishes you lovely couple. Xxx

    Glad to hear you had a good time, and yes, the skill to holidaying is leaving room for spontaneous ideas, and rest, and processing it all mentally. How about a shaped wooden bracket for the shower head. Use a big blob of kids plasticene stuck on the wall to find out what shape will cradle the shower head nicely. You might need an elastic hair bobble over the top to stop the little bugger jumping out of its cradle when in full flow....you know what these 'inanimate objects ' can be like when they see their chance....

    • @DanniandJoe
      @DanniandJoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes definitely need spare days, we tried to fit a little too much in for sure. Good idea on the wood and plasticine might just give that a try!

    My wife has cut my hair for the last 40 years. One on the sides and two on the top according to the shears. Saves a ton of money for other things. Who cares what people think, it saves money for things we like. No one else matters, just your selves. You made the boat for your selves so why care about others for their opinion?

      Thank you! It’s good to be back. Ahh will add the sausage to our ‘to try’ list for next trip, roughly where is it from? Joe enjoyed biscuits and gravy, didn’t try with egg and cheese though!

    • @sknight1963
      @sknight1963 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DanniandJoe it is from Conecuh County in Alabama. There are many different types of smoked sausage, but the Conecuh brand is considered some of the very best. So if you are traveling through Alabama, it can be obtained at pretty much any Walmart or Piggly Wiggly (yes that is a real grocery store chain). Another way to enjoy it is to butterfly the “fat” Conecuh, it come in two different thicknesses, grill it and then slather in BBQ sauce. The skinny size can be cut to bun length and eaten as a hot dog. It two can be grilled.

    Looking back at earlier videos of your work on the boat, I’m thinking of all the times plans went wrong, drill bits broke, frustrating delays happened and how frustrating these setbacks were for you, Joe. But what I take from those frustrations is how they did not stop you, how you persevered and the boat now looks amazing. It is a credit to both of you and as I begin my own narrowboat adventure imminently, with a few jobs on my boat to complete, your videos are inspiring and have given me an important lesson on how to work on my boat. Excellent work guys.
    BTW, Lymes disease comes from tick bites. I have a good friend who caught lymes in America. When he got back to the UK, he never got medical attention for it in time and it developed into late stage Lymes. It is a very serious, debilitating condition.

Be careful that you are aware that is what your Partner/Wife in this case may think, you could have helped with the Bed in this instance. Listen to your Olders, in this instance a 78 year Older. Its fine for pans to go like that its basically just carbonised oil I know lot people hate it as looks dirty,
    keeping pans well seasoning is art work in it self TBH, but just washing them in water no soap then getting them hot rubbing oil into them works well then fry some onions in them then bin the onions.
    that will season in a new pan. and make none stick more you keep this up more you use the more none stick pan will become. cooking foods like tomato's in the pan will remove the seasoning.
    but main goal is to carbonise the oil to make a none stick layer in the pan. stainless steal pans are nightmare to work with but once get down they are amazing, same for cast iron and copper pans.
    be mindful if you ever get cast iron to dry with towel then heat it up to dry it out to get water out as will just rust I also recommend not putting it in humid place also when wash cast iron don't have water to hot or to cold as the temp can effect the pan. my go to pan is cast iron, but I love also working with stainless steal and copper, copper is amazing for just fast heating and how even heating is, Cast iron realy good for holding heat.

    Add a hearty pour of baking soda (about ¼ cup or ½ cup), and then carefully place your pan in the water. Reduce the water to a gentle boil, and let the pan cook for about 15 to 30 minutes, flipping or rotating it if necessary, so that all the sides are boiled. You should start to see brown residue flaking off.

    I'm sure a good English ale would be welcome after weeks of American...uh...what is that? ☹
    There are some good breweries in California and Oregon, but there's quite a cluster of really good ones north of the border in Vancouver and area. 🤗
    Canadian craft ales generally start at 5% or more--that's with the decimal point to the RIGHT of the number!

    The Teflon panic annoys me. Teflon doesn't start breaking down (Decompose) until it reaches around 5-600c. Which you aren't going to get when cooking under normal circumstances. It is also completely inert so if you manage to eat flecks of teflon you scrape off the pan if you use metal utencils. it will pass straight through.
    That being said, I don't use Teflon because I don't like how quickly it comes off in the wash and it isn't dish washer safe. I use ceramic pans.

    • @DanniandJoe
      @DanniandJoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't know this! We were mainly worried about the flakes getting into our food than say a new pan 'leaching' into the food per se. Maybe we'll check out ceramic next!
