    I’ve been qualified for 10 years and work in the U.k, but love watching these vids. It’s interesting to see projections we never do. Radiography is awesome and you are passionate about it! This is what our profession needs.

    Your videos get me so excited to start the X-ray program in January! Also, it’s so cool how technology has advanced to be able to use the imaging board (I don’t know what it’s called yet) to get images that would have been very difficult with film. Sooooo excited to get started! In the meantime I’m gonna watch all your vids. 🤗

    I have never heard of using a caudal angle for x-table lateral but it makes so much sense. Excited to test it out

      yup! x-rays are all about angles and flipping them on the opposite side lol

    I'm a UK radiographer! So interesting to see the differences and similarities from across the pond, we don't do PA knees at the site I work at, AP weightbaring and lateral as standard with skyline patella views sometimes requested too. Also don't use gonad protection here anymore! Thanks for the video!

    Thank you for doing this video. I have a question. How can you manipulate the X-ray tube to mimic external or internal rotation for a cross table lateral (shooting mediolateral or lateromedial)when the patient CAN NOT move?

    We’re the exposures that you showed after each positron the actual exposures? I thought i saw some knee replacements and then i saw very normal knees as well.

    X-ray Rey, is it harmful to the eyes, if the x-ray lamp shines in the eye? Some females did my knee x-ray today and once they told me to get up, they forgot to turn the dang light off/away. The part I am talking about is at this time stamp (9:10). As I was laying down and holding the board, I asked them if they were done and if they wanted me to get up. One of the females said she was done and that I could get up, but once I stood up the freaking light shinned in my eyes. I feel like they were really careless. Please, let me know if I should be worried. I have never accidentally got an eyeful of the x-ray lamp light/red t-laser before.

    Hey Ray, got a question: why would you angle caudal on a x-table lateral knee? "Anything is better than perpendicular?" What you mean by that? I've never seen anyone or any facility do that here in Texas...🤔

    Can you demontrate a lateral knee standing? I work at a chiropractic clinic and don't have tables. We do most positions standing.

    • @XRAYREY
      @XRAYREY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can get to it when I can. However, the same rules and concepts apply as if you were on the table. If you'd like some tips book a Zoom call on my website xrayrey.com

      The PA is Rosenberg method to show the intercondylar fossa and eminence. AP shows the femorotibial joint space.

    In Algeria we study a lot of things and modules but we only need different positions, how to use different machines and the different constants. Do you also do that or do I need to restudy everything if I wanted to work in USA (I assumed you live there)

  • @bianchini44
    @bianchini44 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    On the laterals, we’ve learned to look at the condyles to assess rotation. Specifically if one is posterior or anterior to the other. Can you explain more regarding the tib fib joint visual? Your explanation of which way to fix it makes sense but I didn’t see much difference in the two images.

    • @XRAYREY
      @XRAYREY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This method works for me for about 9/10 patients. Some times a patient’s anatomy is just different. But, when i see rotation i look at the proximal joint. If there’s too much seen, then i know its rotated externally. Vice a versa. If there’s too little seen or it’s hidden, it’s rotated medically.

    Does this equipment have a PBL? I'm in my second semester and everything has been moved online because of this pandemic. The equipment we have in our labs are simplistic too so I've never seen the light following the Bucky like that before

    • @XRAYREY
      @XRAYREY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes... I’m sorry to hear that =/ Are there any questions you may have that i can address in a video? .. This is newer equipment so the tube and bucky automatically align. I plan on using older equipment for future videos so you can see both
