The smoke entity is at least one full wall size. Chimney hole is too small for smoke to come out. It dissipates though so it doesn't matter, but if you want to have smoke come out of the chimney, you should expand the chiney holes so the smoke entity can path its way out.
Workbench tip: just build 2 walls behind the bench and then snap a roof to each wall and you’re done
Just dig a hole, place workbench, place a roof, done. 20 sec effective workbench. ;)
Anything that takes damage under rain will remain at 50% health.
good to know!
workbench on the ground, wall to the side, add walls to back of workbench, the last side wall, two 26 degree roofs and you have a useable workbench
I don't get what's the advantage of resetting the spawn point. You're only gonna spawn back there if you die, which means either you're close enough that it's pointless, or you're so far that resetting it will make you spawn much further away from your tombstone and your inventory.
I do have a base near the stone circle, but it's so that I can go there to change my active power when I need to.
I think the best way to carry a "sleeping bag" of sorts is to leave a portal back in your base unconnected, and take the materials for a new portal with you when you go adventuring far away.
For the workbench, drop it on the ground, slap one wall directly behind it and attached a thatch panel to the top of the wall. Works like a charm and no need to “wiggle” to get the workbench to work.
i keep doing that and i get the exposed message...maybe i'm not putting the wall close enough....it's very frustrating
holy nostalgia, used to watch your ark vids years ago. didnt realize who it was when i clicked on the video
With the workbench, easier faster build, put the bench down, 2 walls behind it & 2 26 or 45 full roofs, don't see sides or elevation so that's 4 pieces of structure, easier if pressed for time etc. Cool tips though elevated ventilation is so good!
Glad they were helpful! The work bench can definitely be min-max'd. My little structure was just on example of its functionality :)
u actully look like ur character
I was just about to comment that they're literally the same person
i was just about to say the same exact thing lmao
Throw in the Table, Chair with a back, and wall pennents. Comfort 7
Dont forget the deer hide rug....
I feel like if I tried to use that many fire spits at once then all I would end up with is coal lol
You can get a workbench working with 2 walls and 2 roofs btw
I use 1 wall and 1 roof ..
the wall just behind it and the roof over! It works for me
10:30 Basic minimum required structure is 3 walls and 1 roof. Place the back wall, place the workbench (centered left to right against it), place the left wall, angled out at a 45 degree angle, and the same for the right wall. works for beds and everything else too. doesnt matter if the corners clip through the wall a hair. been doing it this way for many days, no problem. put the roof on the back wall over the workbench. if you're just trying to repair a boat or other structure that's not an item, you dont need to cover the workbench at all
You don’t need chimneys in longhouses. The smoke collects at the top and then comes out the little hole at the apex of each narrow end, as they did in real longhouses. Chimneys are only needed in small structures.
Ah thats really good to know, thanks!
Love to tune back in and see the same ol energy. Miss u lots!
Love the style of the main building, the moat and the little workbench hut 👍
Glad you like it!
Comfort level add fine wood chair and a table plus a few wall hangings and trophies on the wall
Should mention the higher your base's comfort level the longer your "rested" buff will last. My base has a comfort level of 13 and my "rested" buff lasts 19 minutes. The "rested" buff is a game changer with +100% stamina regen and +50% health regen. Huge difference.
I was in the stream and the 3rd wasn’t really explained when I got there. Don’t forget you can stack your chests and beds with that 1/4 floor over the chest or bed!
The 3rd is pretty dumb. They use beds out adventuring (which can be done regardless). When they are done they reset their spawn and kill themselves. To get home... without their stuff...
"MiNd Of ThE KiLlEr" my ass
Portals... they are ridiculously easy to set up.
@@unpredictablehalfbread6043 too dumb to build a chest first?
Nerd Parade Once again, what's the point of going back to base with nothing if you're just going to leave your stuff behind. Eventually you're going to have to manually bring cores back to base for portals and so forth. Then at some point, run back to the stuff you dumped out in the middle of nowhere to bring it back...
@@unpredictablehalfbread6043 who said you had to take any stuff back to a home base you do know that you can make any home base pretty much anywhere.. or more then one said home base.
Brian Grant Yes, but why would you need to go back to "home" base? If you're just going to build an additional base for the content outside of the area of your home base? And once again unlocking portals makes this whole resetting your spawn point and dying thing completely pointless.
I love this game, is the perfect blend of Skyrim/Minecraft... For me the game with more potentiak in years!!
Hype is real
If you reset your spawn like you say to for using it as a kind of free teleport dont you have to die for it to work? Which would leave all your loot wherever you die?
true. you lose 10% of your experience when you die in all skills as well, which is massive in the later levels. Or did you find another way of after resetting the spawn to get there?
ikr
Workbench on the fly, just needs workbench + thatched roof that runs straight off the ground & over the bench
with a workbench, i just put one wooden wall behind it and 1 thatched roof ridge 45deg and it is useable. just make sure you put it so it is facing out over it and not try to make it face sideways. it is like 4 bits of wood and the workbench is useable. hopefully that helps someone
Love that your Viking looks like you.
Lol your character...the resemblance is uncanny...love this game
i tried to do that on purpose xD
The beams will also take damage unless they are snapped to a roof tile. And they do have to be snapped, not manually placed against one.
You don’t need that much to cover a workbench, just two sidewalls, one wall on the back of the workbench and two roofs on the sidewalls to meet together, no floor, no elevation
Yeah you can min max it like crazy, this was just a simple and cleanish example :)
You can do the same with one wall behind and 2 roofs over or dig a small hole and set a roof on top. Pretty soon you’ll start having some pretty tough events and then it’ll be pretty hard to defend all of that area.
Easy comfort upgrade - place some chairs. They are worth 2 levels. Do NOT use stools or bench's. They are worth only 1 comfort level and will override the 2 levels the chairs give you. Also place a couple of banners around, they are worth 1 level. Its really easy to get to level 9. You can get higher but you need things from higher zones.
interesting that they override, i honestly prefer the look of benches over chairs
you can also use 4 walls and 2 45 roofs for workbench
Workable workbench: wall directly behind bench and low ^ roof on top of wall works
My first tip is to rebind your forsaken power button
Lol yeah F is a high traffic key depending on the game xD
Could you tell me how you aligned those pillars below the bridge so perfectly? I mean, they should be a pain to put in water.
Easiest way I've seen someone make a bridge is outlining it with wood half walls, then putting in your wood/log beams. Afterwards, you just destroy all the half walls. It's super easy to make symmetrical, assuming the water isn't too deep.
Your workbench tip is wrong. The reason is the wind. If you block the wind (marked by the arrow on the minimap) you'll know which direction to prevent "exposure".
I have comfort level 7. No rug, only difference is I have a table, 4 chairs, and item displayers for tankards and cooked food. Rug would probably bump it to 8.
Also to add: About 20seconds resting gives you a rested buff that increase health and stam regen iirc. The comfort level increases how long the buff duration lasts. 9minutes at comfort 3, 10min at 4, etc.
Once you get that sweet fine wood you can take comfort to the next level... literally lol
@@NerdParade Yep! I love all these little small touches with the game. “I can make this look super cozy” *gets buff based on how comfy it is*
Its great. The fact that I thought of hitting a greydwarf with a torch with the hopes they would get caught on fire *and they did* ?! Very thought out and not just a cash grab
Cool vid, good info, thanks!!
Glad it was useful to you :)
I got to comfort level 8 with a pretty small house. Had 1 rug, 4 beds, 2 tables, 6 chairs and a chimney.
yeah the fine wood stuff like table and bench add comfort too! just need to get to fine wood tier for them
Those chimneys aren't working, the smoke is still being contained inside, unfortunately. You can see that there's no smoke coming out in the air, cause the half-gaps in your chimneys are considered sealed, they must be at least 1 full wall high ;
U don't need to build the work bench up off the ground. Ur mini house is making it more confusing then it needs to be. Put it straight up on the ground 3 walls 2 45 degree roofs and ur done. And u don't need to jump up or anything to repair like u were having to
yeah you can min max it for sure, this was just an example of the versatility :)
Peeps harping my man on tip #3 😂 I don't have portals unlocked yet and can very easily see myself out adventuring and running out of already cooked food or something else I need from the home base, or maybe even forgetting to bring my pic or something. So I do tip #3, storing my items in a chest before killing myself. Then come back prepared.
New number 5 tip lawl 2 floor's 2 walls behind it and two straight roofs. Works just fine....
You can build walls right of the ground no need to place workbench on a floor tile
I'm a strong believer in making your character RL reputation. love the character thanks for posting. P.s. So I grew my red hair out and let the beard grow.
I think we were all just born subbed to npg
you need way way way less minimum to get a workbench to work, just one wall in middle of backside of bench and two angled roof pieces on either side. Takes 3 seconds and no floor.
Will the storm damage the roof, like it damage the floor if there is no roof above it?
Roof tiles are immune to weathering
Can't believe you didn't mention wards.
just place a fouth wall. easier than rebuilding the bench 10 times.
Good video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
I don't think I understand the tip about changing your spawn point to save on bed spawns. If I am out in the world and I reset my spawn point, don't I have to die before spawning near base? If I do and I die then my inventory stays where I died so I have to run all the way back to where I was to get it. I don't understand how set respawn is helpful.
I don't get the main base tip? I've built a base in dark forest, if I reset my spawn point to the stones how do I tp to the dark forest base?
as an early player without access to portals, the respawn reset tip is to get you back to the Runestones easily
You haven't discovered portals then. That solves the bed issue
Portals do make life much easier, but this specific tip is for those working on unlocking them or still getting resources to build them
@@NerdParade can you please enlighten me on what i do net get about this "tip"? if i do it your way i spawn back there naked and with no items. What's the point?
2 walls behind work bench with 2 26 degrees corner pieces on them work for work bench aswell
Little Tip.. turn off motion blur lol. it does not make ANY game look better because it "cross's" and blurs 2+ frames ether side of the last one. Duh how is that going to make your game play "better" also the DOF is pretty pants too. your game would looking much cleaner with both off the clipping for DOF is to low and you can see 1/4 of the screen just blur in one frame lol. might not see it if you have draw distance down
LOL! i see what you did there. You and your character look like twins my guy
I always try to make my toons look like me xD
That thumbnail saying “PRO” bruh change that u build like first 1yr
Beams do take rain damage. I spent a lot of time repairing them.
Are u sure thats rain damage and not submerge damage
OCD friendly interior! My man!
I always thought npg was way bigger than it actually is, I feel so lied to
It has I and O at the end of name maybe that how you know if it’s inside or outside stuff
LOVE this helpful video!!
Glad it was useful for you
You deserve like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 subs
I thin kthat's amazing how you look like your game guy
Lol I do that on purpose in all the games I play
what seed is your world would love to try on single player
So early, the video is an MP4:P
This is the best comment ever.
Hey could you share your world seed? It looks awesome!!
Doesn’t a stool give you comfort 6?
Benches work too, they just require fine wood
Har-th, not her-th
the character looks like you
Yep :)
They need to add a flat roof tile. They need to add an actual indoor fireplaces with chimney pieces.
Just make a chimney using stone or wood. Also I think flat roofs would really fit the Viking style, and you’d end up with Cube houses. Biggest thing is tho, this game goes for some realistic weather interactions. Flat roofs suffer from water damage, because the water can just sit there and has no runoff place. So slanted roofs make the most sense.
The game is based on Norse mythology so the architecture you have access to reflects that. Vikings didn't build flat roofs so they didn't put a flat roof piece in.
Another banger🔥🔥
First thing i noticed was ur character lol
get back on last oasis people need an easy target lol
Sounds like they got you
First nerd
Your character face look like your face

You have no clue about the workbench.
