    There's one tip I've never seen in any video, a friend of mine discovered it by accident.
    You know how hard it is to place blocks beneath stuff?
    If you press X to sit, the camera will move down after a while and you can target the bottom face you previously didn't have access to. Gotta have the hammer equiped and the block you're going to place already selected, changing anything makes you stand up.

    I loved these tips, good job. How about building fish traps using building/terraforming? You can put semicircle fence structures in water with a gradient of dirt going up the side of the fence, with the top part coming up out of the water and creating a tiny 1x1 size island (or bigger). Fish get caught behind the gates, you just walk up behind them and push them up onto the land above the water, then pick them up. If you make a field in the shallows of like 3 or 4 of these you can catch a lot of fish quick. I haven't found the trader yet but I have a box full of fish :D

    In order to obtain wood quick and less efort there is a deforestation technique to cut down a section of the forest, in the way of the strong wind to hit the trees and force them to the ground one after another, since the game physics doesn't seem to do that, you can plant tree on a 45°(more or less) steep hill or make stair-like levels, cut the ones on top and have them fall down on the others like a domino effect, its like a landslide but of wood materia.

    Summary:
    Terraforming:
    - 16 up and 16 down from the original land height is the limit
    Roofing:
    - For hexagonal base roofing, instead of clipping thatch roofs use beams
    Staircase:
    - For Spiral staircase rotate the support beam instead of the steps, press shift before placing
    Surtling afk farm:
    - Dig underneath and around fire sprouts to water level. Surtlings will spawn in the water and die dropping coal and cores
    - Use Surtling heads on item frames for infinite light source (instead of torches which require resin)
    Tree farm: (7:15)
    - Build pit next to spawn (set up portal) and surround sides with beams, place trees along the edges, the trunks will fall into the pit, activate TheElder skill to chop wood faster
    Better tree farm link: th-cam.com/video/KIWA9QGR5oI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Mr.Rums
    Decor:
    - Place item stands on throne chair
    - Cover Iron poles with wooden poles (they clip into each other)
    - Place Hearth on iron poles (it acts as a valid support)
    - Floating text on portals (place signs next to portal and add spaces)
    - Makeshift ballista (10:36, huntsman bow, bronze spear, club)
    - Bed with curtains (11:35, Yellow Mushrooms as night lights, flags)
    Draw Bridge: (12:07)
    - Place doors next to each other, can support carts
    Durability: (12:53)
    - Place Iron Gates inside Stone Walls to increase durability

    How do you do the draw bridge exactly? Do you just place the doors next to one another? Or how does it work?
    Shots

    • @SixAddams
      @SixAddams  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea you just place a bunch of them right next to each other. You need to build the walls and the floor around where you are going to put them first though.

    • @EricNeuls
      @EricNeuls 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SixAddams ahh cool so you basically just make an covered tunnel of doors then remove the walls lol. Have you tried using the gates as well to make them longer? Or is having to open each door twice just a pain in the butt lol

  • @a.k.7840
    @a.k.7840 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Awesome! Thanks for sharing! You may already know this, but when planting trees, you can reliably place them two floor panels apart. If you're doing a square grid of trees, placing a two by two section of panels, just place a tree at each corner.

    Really nice tips, thank you. One caveat for everyone on the Surtling auto kill, mobs only spawn around the player. So if you want any large amounts of drops from the flame geyser you need to be in the area clearing crypts or doing other things.

    Not sure how *useful* this tip is, but here's something I've learned recently. While you can't go further down than the 16x as shown, you *can* use the flatten option on the hoe to bring the ground even lower if you can reach a lower spot (like a lower spot on a hill). I've been using this more for finding hidden bits of ore, but maybe this will be helpful to someone else.
