Man oh Man Roger, I love listening to you play these great songs. Brings me back to my youth! And being a bass player myself, I follow and feel every note and morph you play! Thanks for your great videos!
Hi Rog great syncopated lines you played and as Beeb said "spaces" is what makes it. I was only 10 y/o when this came out but was already into playing piano/ trombone. Do you remember anything about the brass arrangement ? thanks for doing these videos. You guys created something really special and the creativity and songwriting is just some of the best Australia has produced.
Ric Formosa wrote and arranged and conducted the brass section. Bob Venier & Peter Salt Trumpets / Don Lock Trombone / Tony Buchanan Tener Sax / Graeme Lyall Alto Sax
@@RJRKM Thanks Roger Great to hear of that mix of brass and wind musos. Did you ever come across Peter Trotter and Badon McCarron? they were my teachers (Sydney).... but I guess these guys were mostly Melbourne session guys.
Roger thanks ! This is my 1st time checking out your channel and what a great video . Very enjoyable ! You know, I was listening to Supertramp 10 cc , Steely Dan when I discovered LRB . So when you and Beeb mentioned some of those bands I was happy to find that out. Thanks .Bob from Florida .
Delicious bass line. Nothing too much, nothing too short, excellent playing, right in the pocket, love it! Bravo to Beeb for writing all these great chord progressions!! Keep 'm coming!!
Love this series. To my mind, LRB did great albums, up to "First Under the Wire" at least - thereafter they did great songs, but not great albums. All that said, and it is only my opinion, the first two are still my two favourites and, if I had to choose one as a "desert island disc", it would be After Hours. Briggs and McArdle added something really different to the sound and LRB remained a huge favourite, but for me the original line up was the best. As a request, it would be terrific, for me, to see you do an interview with Pellici - he has long been one of my favourite Oz drummers.
What a fantastic episode! After Hours truly was a muso’s album and is still my personal favourite. Every Day of My Life a great song and a ripper bass line. Love your work Roger, keep em coming! 👊🙏
Great clip. Loved LRB back then (and now). thanks. I am looking forward to more interviews with the original band members. You are a very tasty bass player. LRB was one of the reasons that I started playing guitar; still playing 40+ years later.
What a great series u r doing. The way u take apart the song. How cool it was that Beeb was on board with u. Thank u so much for posting. Looking forward to more. It would b nice to hear u play some of what came later after u had left. I would like to c your spin on some of that stuff to. Maybe George McCardle will do one with u like Beeb did. Thank your dear wife for manning the camera.
Fantastic. And to think more people watch The Masked Singer.... 🤔There is more musical entertainment on display here watching you play the bass line off a 40 year old song 👍
Two of the nicest gentlemen
Great interview and bass playing on this song Rog!
Great 👍 Video, thanks for posting Roger. The 1st 2 x LRB with yourself on bass and Ric on lead are still my favourite 😊
Nice to see you guys now at your 70 years old and above, the original LRB

Bill Rimmer Thanks for your kind words. I’d never thought of doing one with George. That would be interesting to say the least. 😎
This is just so great!
The first 2 albums have always been my favourite of the bands and really cool to get more insight.
Keep up the good work.:)
awesome. thanks Roger

That was really interesting. Was that my mate Mal on the mini moog?
anthony mcdibble This was pre Mal. Ian Mason played keys on this album so it was probably him.
Roger wouldnt you like to tell on your own channel in your own words why you left LRB?
@@nascarpj5723 it’s been well documented on this channel and in book from Glenn Wheatley Glenn Shorrock and Beeb Birtles
@@RJRKM which video on this channel please?
