  • I have recently uncovered some 8mm silent movie film taken by my Uncle Frank Lischner who was married to my mother's sister, Aunty Betty. It was shot in the late 50's in and around Tapanui Central Otago in the Sth Island of NZ. I would have been around 6-7 years old. A lot of this footage was taken hanging out with my cousins Jimmy, Jill and Gaye Lischner during our summer holidays in Tapanui .
A big thank you to Gaye for getting this footage to me. Memories of these happy times are etched in my brain forever. It's so wonderful to share them with you.
The music track is taken from old radio recordings of my father's band which suits the mood perfectly. The first song you hear is "Swinging Shepard Blues" and is probably the first recording of me playing my Hofner Bass when I was 13 years old.
