I enrolled in AHIT's training course. I really liked it, but for those that want to do the online courses, I still recommend the in-person class simply for the walk-through training that you get. The National Exam is passable simply through the process of solid studying. I watched the entire online course then went back through the areas that I struggled in most. I also bought AHITs practice exam training. I was told I should be passing their test exam by 90% or better to ensure I pass the national. I got up to averaging 95% and then took the national. I passed the first time through, but it wasn't a gimme even at that. One thing most suffer from when taking the exam is anxiety. To get past this, go through the questions, mark the ones you have doubts about and keep it moving along cause the clock is ticking. You have 4 hours to complete it. So once you get through the exam, DO NOT STOP THERE! Go back through and review the questions on the test that you had the most trouble with. Chances are you didn't read the question properly which made the answers unclear. In some cases some questions will literally be the answer to another question so keep that in mind. You can pass the national exam, but just give yourself the dedicated study time. Good Luck!

Just go with ICA, they include Exam Prep free if you need it. 700 questions free that come with the lifetime access to the online course and report software. I almost went with ahit and realized they nickel and dime you for everything. My dad has been a contractor for 35 years and the salesmen at ahit was rude. I'm glad we went with ICA. The software is free forever too and works on my phone with zero internet connection required.

I agree with Freddy on this one. We did ICA training online and all the free exam prep. Our office of real estate pro team all passed on the first try. ICA made it a breeze

Being a 46-year-old plumbing apprentice who just got off of worker's comp, finding a job is extremely tough for me. Being an apprentice at 46 already made it tough, but now that I also had a injury claim, yeah nobody will even give me the time of day and if they do, they clam up after the interview. Id considered starting a drain cleaning & minor plumbing business and also doing home inspections. Thank you for your info and insights. I am in a regulated state but ICA has a state approved course but its like 350 miles away lol. Will talk to ICA to see what options they might have. Im surprised they dont offer in-person courses on both sides of the state
