Looks nice, but I'll personally stick with the CR-24. My only issue with it is the occasional throttle jerkiness but I've gotten fairly good at taming it, and just the right size to tackle reasonable obstacles without being too big to go certain places
Cool review mate! Looks like a scaled up CR24 - but improved - I found the throttle to be too twitchy on the CR24 like you said. Looking forward to the outside run - thumbs up and have a great weekend Phil. :)) 👍👍👍GB
@@TomleyRC Cool - I think I got the "knack" of the CR24 initial take-off from standstill whilst on holiday. Got some great footage on some big rocks on the beach, just need to edit it all together, fingers crossed, it should look quite impressive! :)
@@TomleyRC what makes the other ones cool though is they have actual light buckets in them instead of lights on the bumpers. I like them all but chose the LC as well. Can't wait to see your running video!
oooh, I really like that body. Pity they don't do it in 1/24. I would get one for my FTX Outback Mini 2 chassis. What's the gear ratio like. It's one of the things that really impressed me on the 1/24 FTX Mini 2. Much slower than my Carisma Pup and so much easier to control. Not darty farty at all. The tyres are the other very impressive thing about it too, and the 1/18 ones look exactly the same squishy compound. Great video Phil 👍👍😊
Cheers mate, it's nice a controllable, gear ratio says 102.5:1 on the website...and like 104:1 on the box. The FTX mini 2 is based on the 1/24 CR24 that I have. Nice little trucks!
@@TomleyRC The FTX 1/24 says FDL 104:1 in the specs, which I assume is the same as the CR24. They look identical except for the decals and the FTX has red shocks. I love mine. This Toyota looks tempting though. I must admit that I don't like the trim buttons on the TX. I prefer the quicker more precise old school dials.
Cool truck, I have the cr24 and have done a couple of trail videos with it and it's excellent for its size, a really nice surprise 😀 so I am sure this cr18 will be just as good👍 I may have to add one to my collection 😎 great review sir👋👋👋👋🇬🇧

Really cool little truck! The price is a bit high compared to others in its class,. Still very cool! That remote is exactly like the one that came with my Pro boat mini jet boat. Strange configuration to be sure. But it does work well so far.
new sub, I've recently found your channel and think its great, I've never had an rc but think i might be getting 1 or 2 of these awesome mini crawlers.
Hi tomley, I hope your good mate.. I quite like this little crawler, I need to get a crawler again for me any my little girl but don’t want to spend too much on them as they will probably be our least used rc trucks, but fully proportional is a must, so this one definitely could be worth thinking about.. haha they do crack me up calling the wheels beadlock though, I think there’s 4 screws holding the two half’s of rim together, not beadlock as were used to lol, but that’s just me being a bit nitpicky and fussy.. I have been looking at a few mini FTX crawlers as well so there’s a few on my list to look into, if this one drops in price around Christmas time it could be a contender too.. happy rcing bud and have a good weekend 👍
do they sell replacement parts ? cuz we know something will break and if they don't sell parts then ...you know...plus the price is quite steep to start with
Beautiful little thing, man! I loved it! 😃 About FPV, all I do is to get a AIO FPV camera (already with VTX) and fix it in the top of the car or truck with a small piece of double sided tape! 😂 Works great! And I use to give it power from the receiver. I don't know if that's possible in this case though.
good to know about the FPV. I think these have the polarity the wrong way around, I've heard people connecting after market batteries etc and burning the ESC out. So that might be the issue with the FPV as well.
@@TomleyRC The AIO cameras can't all handle the 2s voltages these 1/18 use. but if it's just polarity that's an easy fix. You just have to de-pin the connector and reverse them.
@@TomleyRCthank you I will try those tips and have you found an upgrade servo for the cr24 because mine won't turn the wheels if it's not moving on ground or not on its wheels

Tomley This looks so so cool what a nice looking truck it pulls well which is good news.i think I will stick with my wltoys 12428 much faster and better power then the cr24 but I'm upgrade my 12428 now.
little smaller than WPL but lots nicer built (awful proud on that price tho!). totally agree a battery tray relocate would do wonders, did to my ECX Doomsday Barrage (sideways low just ahead of motor) put the CG about 3/4" forward of frame center, climbs like a beast!
Hi Tomley, do you know where to get a new original ESC for this? mine got a single drop of water and it acts weird now. runs 50% of power and battery lasts 1-2 minutes, even 1200mah so, i think the esc is dead. ALthough it is now 64 euros, so a new one isn't that bad either...

I purchased the. Cr-24 crawler and Banggood doesn't have a very good customer service. I have not been able to get a hold of them to return it. Not very satisfied with the quality.
lol yup, they kinda proud of it! for a budget WPL C-14 probably the best bang for the buck ever now, new kits have brass bevel gears in the axles, tan B-36 gearbox, and really hard to roll over with a set of the 5.00 Fayee rims/tires slapped onto it (3/4" more width).
Yes it isn't cheap. But I suppose if you take the top end of the 1/18 scales with the RC4WD, and then the lower end with the WPL's, this is pretty much smack bang in the middle
