- Last week I treated myself to some goodies from Jacksons Art. I am trying to get more greens, blues and earth tones to help with landscapes. I try them out in this video on a very chatty real time painting

This was so lovely to watch whilst I painted, April! I switch between sketchbooks all the time - I deliberately chose a few to work in for my daily art project becauseit feels too restricting sticking to one! I love the new tombows you got - I have the lime green and the moss green but I'm already noting down the other shades you got as they are lovely! Love that darker blue especially. I just bought a Tombow brush pen, shade 451 Sky blue, and it looks like the kind of shade you're after! A lovely pastel blue 🙂
Thanks Katie! I started another sketchbook for my 100 day project but I miss the larger formats. It's a chunky sketchbook though, so it will take a while to get through. Thanks for the tombow suggestion! I will pop it on my list :)

It's amazing to watch you create these masterpieces. Did I understand correctly that you'll be moving to the Lake District? Either way, I'm so excited about your new home and that you'll have your own little office/studio. Can't wait to see it! I live in Virginia, in the US. My daughter recently sold her home and with some of the funds from selling it she is taking me to England next Fall 2022. and we'll be headed to the Lake District, specifically Beatrix Potter's farmhouse. I'm SOOOOO excited. I hear it's beautiful up there! :)
Ahh thanks so much Bev, not sure if call it a masterpiece myself but I'll take the compliment 😊 Yes! We're moving next Monday to the south of the lake district. It is really beautiful there! We've been for a few trips but we can't wait to explore more. It is so lovely that your daughter is taking you for a holiday, you will love it!
I really like the way your painting turned out! Sometimes in real life when you look at a landscape you also don't know exactly what you're looking at so I think it works in your painting 😊

So nice to watch another of your vlogs, April. I use the same Strathmore sketchbook as you and I really love it. Whose sticker is that on front - so cute! That spread with the Tombow pens was so beautiful. I’ve really been wanting to do something like this as a playful alternative to making art for my job (which is what I do all the time). I'm glad you enjoyed it! The sticker is from Vaulchenart, you can find them on Instagram :) I do like this Sketchbook but I find it awkward to lay flat sometimes. Do you find the same thing?
Tbh I really like that piece, even with the bit in the middle. It doesn't matter you can't tell what it is, in the context of the art it works!

I have a small swatch book that I made with mixed media paper and just made it to fit in my bag so when I can go shopping I know what I have.
That's a really good idea! I actually saw this keychain Swatch book in muji when I was in London and didn't get it :( but that would have been a good thing to have

I think that cobalt blue color pencil is the same shade at the Smalt Blue in Holbein acryla gouache
