I had the procedure done on 7/3/2024. Spinal anesthesia was not done which is where the anesthesiologist puts a needle in your back and injects pain medications in your spinal column. Sometimes if the medication results in a high block where you do need intubation or use of a laryngeal mask. As a physician, laryngeal mask anesthesia is nothing to worry about and is used in a lot of surgeries these days. This is way easier than intubation and you don’t have to worry about knocking teeth out or a sore throat. Also, it is cystoscopy is the procedure or looking into the bladder and not cystostomy like he said.

I did aquablation in Italy on November 29, 2023. I was discharged from the clinic on December 2, 2023. At the moment everything is progressing: erection and urination seem active. I can't comment on ejaculation until some time passes. The catheter that I have been wearing since the day of surgery and which I will remove tomorrow at the check-up is annoying. in Italy some public hospitals offer aquabeam for free. I did it in a private clinic but the insurance I had paid for it.

You didn't say if you were checked for cancer.

I am a physician and just had the procedure done 3 weeks ago and biopsies were sent from the procedure just to make sure that is not the cause of the prostate enlargement.

@@jonyamamoto1396 I am in the research phase of my journey w a 80bm and total urine retention, on catheter for 6 weeks already w two failed trials. As a physician, I am assuming you knew all the options available and chose this one. I am 99% convinced that nothing else works for the longer term and that this is the only viable option? Is that your sense as well? thanks if you reply, Steve O
