"Why don't you sing with an English accent" is a reference to the Phoebe Bridgers song "Motion Sickness" but it's also funny cause the band is based in Cambridge, England
The Intro track is based on klezmer music which is a European Jewish folk music. I think a member of the band grew up playing the genre so they incorporate it into a few of the songs
Incredible concistency Smags! I'm really impressed by your ability and diversity in reactions but remember: Don't overload yourself. Take your time if you feel like you need to. As i said before, i'd love it if you reacted to some bloc party ('Silent Alarm' or 'A Weekend in the city' are their best records), but with all these great suggestions in the comments i understand that there are a lot of albums on your waitlist, so absolutely NO pressure!
Also might want to check out the older versions of sunglasses and Athens France, as they have some different lyrics, which Isaac wasn’t comfortable performing so they changed them
I, for one, much prefer the overall less raw sound of the official releases. Much easier on the ears and goes better with the semi ironic lyrical style IMO.
Hi Smags! I’m not sure if you remember me from your earlier videos but I recommended a band called “Pere Ubu” and I also want to congratulate you on your 3K journey… to see you grow from 400 subs to 3K is amazing… I hope your channel will grow big and we appreciate your content and the music you listen👍👍 (Ps. The Modern Dance and Dub Housing are must react albums)
you would rlly rlly dig jockstrap’s album “i love you jennifer b” the vocalist in jockstrap is the violinist of bcnr and did the backing vocals in track x
Artist: The Faint/Album: Danse Macabre…I’d like to request it if you haven’t heard it. It’s an indie band but it will hit HARD and make you wanna dance.
I think this album is way more interesting than Ants, all these songs do so many different things. Ants is great, but a bit more "commercial". This here is more experimental and for that I kinda enjoy it more.
Evening! As usual, I'm here to do my story time! Let me tell you about my first time in the *Black Country* . So I was driving down to Walsall on a *new road* , it being constructed only a couple of moons ago. Once I arrived, I met a very peculiar individual. He was speaking in what I can only guess was Martian, sipping on a good old pub brewed beer! When he detected me in his peripheral, and IMMEDIATELY started yelling at me. He broke my window with his well made leather cap, and started threatening me, saying I have done damage to it. Oh wait, sorry guys. I may have messed up the counties *for the first time* . This was actually a thing that happened in Yorkshire, so oops. I sincerely apoiogize about that incident. It won't happen again! I'll return next time, so in the meanwhile, go watch Mr. Consistent's newest reaction. It's pretty good!
The pinnacle of consistency

Finally, been waiting since the afut review. Now only Live at Bush Hall is missing and I can´t wait to see your reaction to the „new“ sound
the trifecta
I also feel the live from queen Elizabeth hall video would be a worthwhile reaction for sure

Bc,Nr and Black Midi are actually good friends in real life and started out playing the same venue the Windmill in Brixton
